I was in Secondary one in 1987. Back then, we would be gathered in our school hall to practice NDP songs for our National Day celebrations. We were too cool to sing them and prefects had to make sure we sang them. Count on Me Singapore, We are Singapore and Stand Up for Singapore are memorable.

Same , as this version represents the country of a nation. Also , 1987 was the year where our first Mass Rapid Transit lines [North South Line / East West Line] and the 66 First generation trains started operations.

It was still the best NDP song so far. Did you all know the first few lines of lyrics was specifically written for one person? It literally has heart-stopping effect. Should be very easy guess.

I absolutely love this song and all NDP songs. We moved to Singapore in 1987 and were there for National Day. Have so many fond memories and owe everything to Singapore. Thank you and have a wonderful year!

Which later became the stressful education for the future younger generation and low birth rate of the beginning. Now it is up to the younger generation to reverse it.
