u gotta start somewhere mate and try and get a reasonable priced bike. mines only like £500 less. its a carrera kraken and i love it. i just think i need better tyres for all terrain and thickness. im also looking at camping gear and tents and its expensive i see but its what i want to do.

Good job!!! At 62 years old I forgot what it's like to be young and adventurous! Do it all while you can!!! Now I'm old and semi-adventurous :-)

There's nothing like learning to fix/maintain your own bike, especially if going on a tour. Surely that's half the fun?

I did Lands End to JOG June 2021, probably best leisure time I ever did in my 61 years! Like to see you youngsters enjoying the great outdoors. Nice film 🙂

Just found this channel, i did this when i was younger and it brings back so many memories, i am nor 62 and still cycle every day, make as many memories as you can while you can because when you get older it will make such a difference to your life. Stay safe and always keep smiling.

Just stumbled on your channel.You did well considering you say you had no previous cycling experience 😃 must admit I did have a laugh when you discribed your first speed wobble 🤣 I guess you have now learnt that standing up on the pedals on the downhills is the way to go 😀 looking forward to the rest of the series 👍

Enjoyed that, if I safely assume you made it to Land's End then well done, welcome to the LEJOG/JOGLE club! I rode my first one last July, solo, it was epic, I too recorded everything on my channel. It certainly changes you. =) My next big adventure is hopefully going to be the North Coast 500 in August - I would look forward to exploring Western Scotland. Will definitely watch the rest of your journey - its a massive achievement for anyone!

nice video and mrs i must say. beautiful scenery and them bikes are something i wouldnt use lol the tyres are so thin it looks. u have all that gear and cheap bikes lol well at least u did it i guess. i cant wait to go on solo trips.

Just saying as a pro mechanic those bikes needed some serious work like the dark blue one the hub was on its way out. And ideally new tyres and brake pads before setting out on them. Awesome content btw

We used a Final Cut Pro Plugin called FCPX Maps from Pixel Film Studios, it takes a while to work out how to use it well but once you get there it's a really useful tool :)

Can you just camp anywhere or did you guys book this out? I am doing something similar and I read you can’t just camp on the side of the road. I’d love to know!!

In Scotland you can wild camp and in England on the canal you can camp anywhere you want :) We had some issues finding paid camp spots because we did it during the corona time and all paid camping places were closed. So we ended up wild camping every night.

Want a good hint, any bike can tour to a point but a dedicated tour bike will make life and the body so much better, also helps with budget after getting it, dedicated tour bike cost 5 k to 6 k easy with right gear

I have a forty pound hybrid I would be happy to tour on. You don't need £5k bikes to enjoy cycling. You do need to know how to work on bikes, but even basic knowledge would do....and add to the fun.

Pick a tour bike for road tours coast to coast ect ,a bike pack bike for off road trails tours and expedition bike for the other ,a lot of reasons for this bikes might look same but are not

Yes indeed, if we do a more in depth longer tour we will certainly have an upgrade 😁

Pushing to hard or to many miles will hurt the body, the miles and speed come with time,let the body build up first

@@LaviandOllie it really wasn't 🤣 the reason being animals like to pee and scent and bushes are perfect because they can sent higher. Odds are you berry was fine you would have to be pretty unlucky. Waist and higher i would say 👍 just to be on the safe side.

"with no previous cycling experience" is somewhat stretching the truth isn't it? It's a fabulous journey but you've clearly ridden bicycles before

Haha yes I mean like no cycling experience in the same way as if I said "no running experience" or something like that, as in of course we rode bicycles when we were children etc but not in adult life and we'd never ridden a road bicycle or done any cycling as a hobby or anything :)
