it's mad here in ireland with demand outstripping the supply by something like 9 or 10 to 1,major housing crisis so the prices are sky rocketing.Even 2 years ago I ended up in a bidding war for my apartment and eventually got it but for €27,000 more than the asking price,I was lucky I had some money saved or I'd be one of the thousands trapped in the rental market here(which is even crazier)

Mary, with Hepatitis A spreading rapidly throughout America, have you discussed whether it would be advisable for you to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A? It is in your current State and it is also in North Carolina. The full vaccination is two injections over about a six month period. I only ask because of your deteriorating liver condition.

The Frey Life this might be a crazy question but I’ve noticed that you have not been putting the dates your vlogs lately. Just wondering if there is a reason for that? Anyway I’m a huge fan of the The Frey Life! I have a illness that they will never be able to find a cure for! I am also colonized pseudomonas! And four other things... I have had people write a letter to the home owner explaining why you like the house and your purpose of why you are moving. Helps them have more of a connection to who will be living in there home. More of a personal connection .

As someone who has to go to Durham frequently and is currently buying a house. Sometimes the 30 min drive from Zebulon or Wendell is easier and you get more house and space for the money.

That is the housing market in the Triangle and surrounding areas. You're much better off if you can devote a weekend to house hunting with your realtor. Come down on a Thursday or Friday morning and do showings of all the new houses that pop up through the weekend. You'll need to place a competitive offer the day or day after it goes on the market. The more houses you see, the more you'll get a feel for the pricing and what's a good value. We had to offer $20k over asking to get our house in the Triangle (our realtor recommended $15k over, we decided the extra $5k was worth it). We beat out 6 other offers. But it appraised for the price we offered! So we had a good feel for how rare and nice our house is.

Hey guys, just wanted to share a lip with use, if you find another house that you really like, when putting in a offer, write a personal letter to the seller about you guys and why you have to move there, I know this works really well when going for some were you really want, sellers love that kind of thing. We live in the Triad, in the heart of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point. I think you’ll enjoy all that the state offers and the people are full of southern hospitality. When we moved AZ to WI in 2014 we bought our home SIGHT UNSEEN! I had a friend in the area, found a good realtor, looked at pictures, Google earth, realtor did video, sketched layout for us, etc. First time we saw it was day we closed, 12 hr after we arrived. We bought it since location was great, and we knew it wouldn't last until our house hunting trip planned 6 wk in the future (we're the last house on dead end street, next to youth sports park with no night sports, only has little league type games and local HS girls softball and freshman boys baseball on the far field and soccer on farther away field - multi acre field)

We were together almost 25 years. It was sudden. We went to bed like we always did and when I woke up that next morning he was gone ( I thought I was going to lose my mind) my whole world changed. The point of this message is that I know that God led me to your videos. They have really touched my heart. The love y’all have for each other reminds me of me and my Benny. I’ve been so sad and lonely and I watch one of your videos and instantly feel better. I want to thank you for sharing your life. You guys have really been a blessing in my life. I have a friend who just purchased a house in the Cary area and she had a really hard time! She said that most of the houses were sold before they could even get to see it.

Sometimes a personal letter to the seller introducing you and your family is a nice little thing to add. It makes you more real in the sellers mind. If they are about the money it won't matter. But if the have feelings for the house it helps them to know who is moving in. This is a nice southern gesture. I lived in NC and am now in SC. I am from MI so i have a different perspective. But conversation in the south will open more doors then none. I found a place to rent once by sitting in a restaurant talking to the waitress. Guy in the next table heard me and knew of a place. Just a suggestion Reliegh and Durham are very fast passed living so it may not be this way there but the south is more laid back. Look in the suburbs too. Also Peter contact a few of the churches the pasters may know of someone that has a home they have not listed and want a Christian couple in the home.

Buying a house is SO exciting (and bc it is a sellers market right now, stressful). BUT, looking is part of the fun/journey!! I looked at over 40 houses. I stepped out of my comfort zone for neighborhood and found every.single.thing I wanted in a house. Front porch. Screened in back porch. Massive deck. Best of all, huge back yard for my 2 Poodles. It was a buyers market then (11 years ago) and they accepted my offer. Now my neighborhood is a hot spot and houses sell in one day at massive prices. I'm not going anywhere though. I love my 1930s brick/stone cottage. Good Luck you guys!!!!! I know your dream home is out there🏡💖

Also if you really like it, and it's in your budget, go for full price if there's multiple offers/interest! Offer what YOU feel it's worth, not the best deal you can get! :) Good luck!

💖💖💖It is crazy how sometimes it’s just right! Our house was under contract with us the day after seeing it! We just knew, as soon as we got home we dropped to our knees and asked is this your plan Lord, please be your plan. God had everything fall right into place because I was his plan. So you knowing that it just wasn’t this time is good cause he had something so much better in mind for you both! Love you! Praying always! 💕💕💕

When looking for a house, be sure to think about recovery and if a ranch would be better for y’all. A one story house would be easiest for Mary to get around when recovering. I just know that for me, I knew I would end up in a wheelchair full time so I bought a one story. Thank God I did because 2 years later, I’m now in a wheelchair. I know y’all are thinking of everything but just wanted to share. Good luck.

I bought our house without my husband ever seeing it. We needed to move fast cause the buyers wanted a quick sale. My husband approved of the house I bought us, thank goodness. Now we are in our forever farm at least at this point in our lives. Things change fast and you never know where the Journey of Life is going to take you. Scary and fun at the same time. I have watched families try to do the living a couple hours away from a hospital that one of their members needed to be at thing and it was devastating to them. it adds this huge level of extra stress upon an already stressful to breaking type situation. I cant imagine trying to do this a few states away!!!

My family is actually currently selling in the triangle area, wild to be watching from your perspective in the same area at the same time

I would visit a couple churches as well while you are in NC. They might be able to refer you to awesome realtors in the church. Sometimes its all about who you know.

Oh, I can so relate to your story! Years ago, we were looking for a home to rent and I absolutely fell in love with a place, just knew it was the one for us. I liked the high school for my son, it was a good location, etc. Well, something popped up that I never would have expected to keep us from getting that place and I was so disappointed but I knew that had to have been the Lord stopping us. Long story short, we learned some things later that simply confirmed God was watching out for us. All things work together for good...

A few questions-- 1. Are you guys gonna be living closer to your parents? 2. Is Peter going to look for a new job as a preacher? 3. Is Mary on the transplant waiting list now?
