This was a good podcast. A sound discussion about prayer and ref of scripture. Blake, you have much more to offer than your given credit. To end with the Lord's prayer was perfect. It answered all of your questions. If you really read it. Chili, you questioned the statement, "If it's your will..." Read the Lord's prayer, and you will find your answer. You are acknowledging upfront . That you will accept God's will. No matter how he answers. You're telling God of your faith in him. Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. To praise him. To acknowledge that he is our Father and we his children. To ask to seek, and that we will accept his answer, his will regardless. We are also shown to seek continued knowledge. Plus he tells us, like children. His children that we need to behave if we are asking for something or it can affect the outcome of the answer. If we continue to live in sin ... or as children misbehave, how we expect to get the answer we want ? To end our prayers, we ask God for forgiveness and to allow us to forgive. Then, acknowledge in his holy name. Amen We don't have to elaborate or be elegant. We by scripture are told to continually be in prayer. A topic that you should consider. Is hope.

I’ve struggled with prayer overthinking and ritualistic like Boo Boo. Sometimes we don’t have the words to articulate our prayers. Many times I’ll just prayer “Lord you know what is needed more than I can ever know. I pray your will is done in this situation and open our eyes to how we can serve you better.” Or something to that effect. I always like to pray for others before myself. With that said I start my prayers asking for forgiveness of my sins and God purifying my heart so that I pray with a pure loving heart free of sin.

Staying hydrated

After leaving the Army and finishing 20 years at a job and getting laid off, I have been praying for many years asking God for any sign as to what he wants me to do with the rest of my life and I get nothing. No word, no sign. What do I do now? My faith is unshaken, but my hope is fading. Also, Jesus drank wine with his meals, so there is nothing wrong drinking some alcohol, there is a problem with being drunk and out of control.
