My wife went to a DVC presentation in 2001. She liked the idea, but I stayed home that trip, and she knew she would never make such a commitment without my input, so she said to the presenter, "It looks good, but I would have to involve my husband." The DVC Cast Member said, "No problem!" and she put everything into a nice folder and sent my wife on her way. Within a few months, we decided to buy in and we have been member ever since. With NO regrets!! It is definitely NOT for everyone, but I do believe that everyone who loves traveling to Disney resorts should at least look into it! By the way, we worked with that DVC Cast Member for 15 years before she retired. Her name was Joan and she was the nicest lady I ever met.

At least you had an out. I remember being 10 and my mom had to agree to go to a timeshare thing (not through Disney) as part of how she afforded taking us. We were told it was about a 45min presentation, there was a supervised children's play area for the duration, and we would be given lunch at the end. All of that was lies. No kids area at all, so my mom is toting around a *very* bored 5 and 10yo on this presentation she has zero intention of purchasing, it was over two hours long, and they didn't even have snacks, let alone a meal. Even *if* she had truly been considering it, by the end she certainly wasn't, and she made that crystal clear to the people involved. I still remember how boring and awful that was 😅 the rest of the trip was great, though!

I feel like DVC is only worth it if you have large families. For example, my parents bought it, and I am part of five children. So in total our party is seven. Sometimes eight. So it’s nice to be able to get better rooms for POSSIBLY cheaper. And the lounge rooms r really worth it when you have little ones. But again it’s truly not for everyone and in my opinion only worth it if you have a party above four people
@princessa2235

@beedobop I guess this just doesn't make sense to me since every different accommodation type comes with a different point value. The cost per person is kind of adjusted based on the size of the accommodation, so if it's worth it for four people it would be worth it for two people for half the points/half the size of room. But I guess we will agree to disagree.
