I am excited that this song still lives on. I am the original vocalist on all of the parts and did it in one take with each harmony part under the supervision of the great Jimmy Hart at a production studio in Tampa. I was told to channel Donna Summer. I think I got paid a one-time check from Jimmy of about 300 bucks. Felt like a fortune at the time for a gigging studio vocalist. I also did that ridiculous entrance Opera theme as a duet with my producer, for Mr. Wonderful, at the time, Paul Orndorff. I have been a fixture of both the most loved and the most hated entrance themes of all time. 💕💕👍 I think that should be a record or something🤣🤣🤣

WCW's rival was WWF who had Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kurt angle, Mick Foley, The rock, Kane, Big Show, Triple H, and Jericho from 1999 - 2001. WCWs mid card while very good did not have more talent than that.

As a kid I was annoyed by this guy in the right way. Looking back, Disco is awesome. Hilarious gimmick and great worker!

Disco Inferno had the opposite of "X-Pac heat". You saw him every week and you usually weren't that happy about it but whenever he wasn't there, you felt like something was missing.

Not sure how he could be the best mid-carder as Chris Jericho was actually a mid-carder for WCW back in the 90s. At the beginning of his fame he would do his notorious promos against Dean Malenko et all halfway through Nitro.

Totally agree with you bub. Here I am, driving to Wrestlemania, listening exclusively to old theme song. I had to turn Alex Wrights music off because I was laughing so hard I almost crashed! Alex & Disco were OVER!

People who didn't live through 90s wrestling don't understand. You could take a non-fan to a WCW show and even if they didn't pay attention to anything else, they remember "The disco guy".

People give Glen a lot of shit i like him and another thing no one ever mentions he's kept himself in great shape he's moved on with his life he has a new career he's not a drug addict or a loser ok he had that poker thing but you never hear him in trouble he was a gimmick but he was over he's smarter than people give him credit he saved his money and never took unnecessary risks in the ring.

Big props to Glenn Gilberti for getting this gimmick over. It could have easily been prime Wrestlecrap material but he did such a good job embracing the gimmick he got the fans invested.

The problem with wrestling fans and certain wrestlers actually, is that they don't understand that like some actors in movies, some wrestlers are never going to be the top billing/draw. But they can still entertain and make a great living doing it. Disco Inferno was a mid carder, but I remember him and his run more than say Mike Awesome as 'champion' in ECW. There is nothing wrong with being the equivalent of a character actor in wrestling. Kudos to you Glen Gilbertti...I enjoy your spots as much as anyone in WCW for what they were.

To be honest with you, people like Disco are why I consider all forms of professional wrestling in 2021 to be trash. This guy was a character; had the Saturday Night Fever look and mannerisms, disco ball spinning when he comes out, finishing maneuver called "The Last Dance" and when he was a heel, the crowd would chant "Disco Duck!" to shine him on during his matches. That's what pro wrestling should be, not this whos-gonna-out-stone cold/nwo wolfpack-each-other-to-the-top crap they got going on now. And yes, I know I sound like an angry Boomer right now, but that's how I feel.

Disco was also pretty over despite being a jobber. Every time he came out fans would start doing the disco dance. They also popped for him when he won the TV title. A lot of the fans back then grew up in the 70's and the character was nostalgic for them. Just shows you don't need to be a champion to get over. If the fans are happy to see you, mission accomplished.

Every promotion needs a solid midcard act. Disco was WCW's. As far as I know he never injured anyone in the ring, meaning he could be trusted to work with everyone on the card and put on a solid match. I hope he's still in the biz working backstage for AEW, Impact or WWE and/or running his own wrestling school. He had a unique gimmick, can work face or heel, decent on the mic and good in the ring.

I am convinced that Glenn Gilbertti is literally the only wrestler that could have ever pulled off the Disco Inferno gimmick to the level he did. Like a character actor nailing a part that even a higher profile actor could not replicate.

Disco knew his role & played it well. Still one of the more memorable WCW characters & today in 2022 he has one of the best wrestling podcasts out there with Konnan..

I miss WCW !

If "Disco" was a surprise entrant in a Rumble, I'd probably "mark out" more than any fan ever!

I think this guy was great. He took a lame gimmick and made it work. Plus I think he had the perfect look for it. A diamond with great charisma and very entertaining. Though he won a few titles it's a shame he was a job most of the time.

He would've been great for a long cruiserweight or TV title run where he just cheated or did shady things the entire time to keep his belt kind of like the Honky Tonk Man.

That man definitely had talent. To take something so cheezy and make it work the way that he did is just brilliant.

This was one guy who took the ball when they gave him a "shitty" gimmick and ran with it and made it something to remember, I remember Glen Gilberti (Disco Inferno) in TNA talking about the disco gimmick they gave him when Russo came in.

He was Disco Inferno long before he went to WCW. I think he started doing it in the USWA in 1993 but it might have started even before that.

Funny and entertaining as hell

Disco Inferno was the “Koko B. Ware” of WCW. He was a mid-carder who got a the same “pop” from the audience as a main event superstar did.

What a great gimmick. Disco was hilarious.

Aside from Sting, DDP and Goldberg, Disco Inferno was one of my top favourite WCW stars, his theme was really catchy, not to mention he deserved a much better push as well! Great job by the way!

One of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I would get hyped whenever I heard this theme.

I can’t believe Vince never snagged disco. He seemed to be right up Vince’s alley. Fun, good look, good schtick, entertaining, could work a fine match. Always got the crowd reacting.

@@e2go Apparently there were plans to get Disco to be a Honky Tonk Man protegé in 1997, but then Eric Bischoff got him to sign a new deal with WCW and got him to do the job for Jacqueline.

Glenn got it, and he still gets it. He had fun out there, and he got the crowd into him. That's the job. It didn't matter where he was on the card, you knew when he came out you were going to be entertained.

Exactly. Knew how to entertain and get heat. Also knew how to throw a punch and sell his ass off. Did things the crowd could imitate and have fun with. Guy got a lot of air time on weekly TV for years during one of the most popular times in the history of the sport on a roster packed with iconic wrestlers and politicians competing for every minute they could get. Disco knew the formula.

This dude, this dude was a star. Charismatic and the crowd loved him, they had a great time when he appeared. At the end of the day, that's what's important, entertaining the people, all of them.

From CVV interview, had no idea this was Jimmy Hart singing the female part to 'Disco Fever' part! Jimmy is so good! He also did the 'Sexy Boy' part with Shawn after replacing Sherri's part.

Disco Inferno and wrestlers like him is what modern day professional wrestling is missing. I used to dance around the house and laugh watching him on TV. I remember going to WCW Slamboree PayPer view in Baton Rouge as a kid. I didn't know which wrestlers were going to be there. When I heard the music and he came out I literally lost my mind. One of those moments as a kid that just leaves you short of breath but has you bouncing off the walls at the same time.

God I love this shit! Disco Was so underrated!

For those of you who are hating on Disco Inferno; in WCW, he has the same stats as Chris Jericho. He's won the WCW Television Championship and the WCW Cruiserweight Championship in WCW.

Chart buster wasn’t the same as stunner stunner is more like a jaw breaker using the shoulder chart buster was more like a reverse jawbreaker with a hammerlock

Glenn made this work. That’s why he got over. WCW set him up to fail, and he got the gimmick and himself over organically.
