Totally agree with how you analyzed the “hand holding”.....at first, I thought it was a gesture of pure love or some sign that it was advancing their relationship but the more I watch this, I felt Nathan held her hands as a gesture of comfort to Elizabeth in a loss that they commonly shared (something that probably all of us have done at a Memorial Service to a grieving family member or friend).....it was his way of saying “I understand/share your pain, your loss, your emptiness without Jack”....this was a bonding moment for the two of them because this is something that only the two of them can understand....yes, this is the ultimate step of the healing process for Elizabeth....love the way you said it.....forgiveness....grace....accepting that things happen in life that we don’t always understand but we must still learn to more forward with hope and courage.....this was a necessary scene to help Elizabeth grow as a person and move on without Jack....as always, so enjoy your Scene Analysis videos!

I absolutely agree with your comment. This was an important and beautiful scene. S11 Has been awesome seeing them come together as a couple. There connection is deep. They share a painful history with regards to Jack's death. They had a friendship where they shared what's important to them deep from their hearts. Oh and they were all ready parenting together given each other advice with regards to their children. Their friendship (while Elizabeth had moved on with Lucas) is lovely, but it is was more than friendship. Nathan knew how Elizabeth felt about him. Remember in S8 when Nathan said, "Elizabeth I know you feel the same way." after Nathan had declared his love for Elizabeth. Elizabeth didn't deny it. SHE simple said, "I can't." She doesn't want to lose him the way she lost Jack. That is why Nathan chose to remain "friends" with Elizabeth. So, she could get to know him better as a man and hopefully overcome her fears. She may have been dating Lucas, but Nathan wasn't giving up.Team Lucas just didn't want to admit it. Nathan may have given up after Elizabeth became engaged to Lucas. He tried to move on with other women, but was unsuccessful because he loved Elizabeth still. S9 you could see Nathan's hurt when he interacted with Elizabeth. He was quite sarcastic with her at times.. This was out of pain and grief over Elizabeth choosing Lucas. Elizabeth started having doubts about Lucas we saw her admitting that at Jack's grave. Then Lucas ran for governor. She had doubts about moving to Capital city. Nathan saw this and knew she was having doubts because of the friendship they have with each other. Nathan called her out in that beautiful scene in the church/school house in S10 where Nathan said, "Elizabeth, what do you want?" Elizabeth breaks up with Lucas shortly afterwards. I call Elizabeth and Nathan's relationship the upside down romance because Nathan declared he loved Elizabeth in S8 and they hadn't even dated yet. Then Nathan chose to be Elizabeth's "friend." They were giving advice about each others kids to each other basically parenting together. Now we are on S11 and we are getting this gentle Love Comes Softly approach to a romantic relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth. I think they will date and marry at some point. We will get a beautiful marriage and blended family with this couple.

Thank you! I thought it interesting that she seemed to bring her hands to him willingly, there was no need for him to try and grab them from her awkwardly. Given how tentative she always seems touching Lucas’s hands I was happy to see her so open to Nathan’s touch.

That's what I said after the episode! She didn't hesitate unlike she did with Lucas, which yes that partly could have been that it was more of a comfort thing rather than romantic, but still! It shows that she's more comfortable with Nathan.

I don’t think so- they felt connected in that moment. And we see no discomfort or awkwardness during that moment, no tension that would indicate that she felt obligated to let him take her hands

I think that Nathan’s deep breath at the end was simply a sigh of relief. In that moment, with that sigh, he was finally letting go of his pain, thanks to Elizabeth. I’d been waiting for you to do a breakdown of this scene, and enjoyed it very much, and think you were spot on! This scene had to happen for both to move on from their grief. Personally, I think this beautiful scene of redemption is the most beautiful and moving scene, to this point, of THE WCTH SERIES! Thank you for this lovely breakdown!

I was in stitches when i saw Bill, it was so funny!!! It was if he was saying, 'Here we go' i was looking at N and E and it was no gooey eyes or nothing, it was a sincere moment when she acknowledged that she now understands all the Nathan was feeling and had to let him know that. All his previous hesitations and false-starts to talk and shyness to her all made sense. She will not go to home because both of them are hurting and she feels obligated, it is that she for the very 1st time sees Nathan. Now that burden is off Nathan we will see a stronger and more confident man without any guilt.

I think so- she’s a good person and I guess when you give so much advice it makes you think and then you might even adjust things in your life according to it. I think she saw Nathan’s frustrated face and he didn’t acknowledge her because she had been ignoring him- which is so sad considering their deep friendship -and his pain pierced her heart because all the advice giving had softened it already.

First, Lucas is shooting himself in the foot by trying to “work this out” with Nathan. Second, I’m sure Bill has been trying to stay out of the situation out of respect for Elizabeth. He knows she doesn’t want others meddling and telling her what to do. Third, Nathan’s last few interactions with Elizabeth have been very tense, so I’m sure he’s expecting more of the same. Finally, when Elizabeth tells him she doesn’t blame him, he’s in disbelief, because he hasn’t forgiven himself. Her statement helps him on the road to forgive himself, and he’s also relieved that she’s no longer angry. The hand holding is a product of the depth of their connection in that moment, but Lucas can only see his own motives and is probably thinking “but I just told him he shouldn’t pressure her and this is what he does???” I love when you analyze scenes! ***I just rewatched (again) and noticed Elizabeth LOOKS DOWN as Nathan is taking her hands! She’s not only letting him hold them, she’s fully aware of his intent beforehand and allows it. Nathan’s deep breaths are probably a combination of his relief that Elizabeth doesn’t blame him, being able to start letting go of the emotional burden of Jack’s death, and trying to keep his emotions under control. Men didn’t cry back then. (And a tiny bit of disbelief that he’s holding Elizabeth’s hands. 😍)

Yes! I actually think Nathan has forgiven himself already for replacing Jack- it doesn't seem like he's still struck by that (at least I didn't get that feeling from watching) but I'm certain he was feeling horrible about not being honest with Elizabeth and just telling her. He felt guilty about how she felt about it. and oh my gosh! Bill! Remember when he wanted to investigate who got her those flowers! Lol. I think he has been watching them this whole time. Agree, his deep breath probably was this letting go of a burden.

Omg I love what you said about Elizabeth knowing full well what his intention is in that moment to take her hands. I didn’t catch that and then I rewatched and freaked out again!!! That is amazing! Good eye! And I think you might be right. I don’t think he’s forgiven himself yet. But he’s on the path to do so. I remember when he was stating his last words at his trial and expressing sorrow for all the women who have lost their husbands in the line of duty. It seemed that statement was a little heavy for him and it was like all he wanted to do was fix what happened with Jack. I also think what he’s coming to realize that it’s not out of a sense of duty anymore when it comes to protecting and watching out for Elizabeth and little Jack. It’s because he knows that all that Jack would want for her is someone to love her as much as he did, and to take care of her in a way that he never got the chance to.

Yeah, I was hoping you would do this scene! Nice work. I love the connection they share at the end of this. I nearly cried at this scene. Even if Elizabeth chooses Lucas now I'm so happy she extended that grace and healing to Nathan, it is so important. I was so happy this moment happened. I think the deep breaths they had here were letting off stress, finding relief, and trying to contain the deep emotions they were feeling. It had to be a huge relief for them both. I'm so happy she finally spoke kindly to Nathan. Thanks for the video!

Alright, time for deep thoughts. First, I want to point out the music. Whenever there is an emotional moment of victory we hear a trumpet, but we only hear it with a Mountie (Jack and Nathan), or when it's with Elizabeth and her true love (Jack for sure and possibly[hopefully] Nathan). Second, the hand holding. This is the first time since Jack that Elizabeth has willingly and accepting, let another man reach for her hand and she consent by raising hers to meet it. Whenever she holds hands with Lucas she was the one to initiate the contact, like a skttish animal has to willingly lay itself in a humans lap rather than the human pick it up. Elizabeth has been skittish around Lucas because she feels like he is reaching for her with all of his gifts, but Nathan draws her simply by being who he is.

I love Nathan. I like that he didn’t engage in further conversation with Lucas. I understand how Lucas used the opportunity to tell Nathan to back off but Nathan actually has not done anything to pressure Elizabeth. Elizabeth, please wake up!!!!!! My heart was pounding when she asked him to step outside. The deep breath at the end could be relief because she’s forgiven him? I really hope this ends with these two. In my mind Nathan is endgame but so much anxiety!!

For the first time, I was really annoyed at Lucas--I feel like he used Allie as an excuse. Nathan just adopted her...how dare he act like he is more concerned about her than Nathan is. He is concerned that he is losing his hold on Elizabeth.

@@alicepahler7610 I was like how dare Lucas give Nathan advice about Allie. Nathan made it very clear to his father, Allie's father, and Elizabeth in the woods during the field trip that raising Allie is his number one priority.

This has been the one thing holding back both Elizabeth and Nathan. Nathan felt guilt over Jack taking his place and falling in love with Jack’s widow. And Elizabeth knew that Nathan was hiding something from her. Now this obstacle is gone, they are free. That elephant in the room has been removed.

You know what I think might happen though- after seeing the preview and Elizabeth feeling guilty about Lucas feeling jealous, she might draw back from Nathan once again and they might give TL some hope (last red herring) but then in ep12 she’ll choose him for good.

And because I occasionally am feeling pangs of worry, I’d say they’re doing a heck of a job! But yes. Love the last red herring thought you made. Yesssss. There’s just Way. Too. Much. supporting evidence for Elizabeth and Nathan (storytelling, character development, etc.) for it not to go in their favor!

I think some more truth will come next week about what Nathan has endured both with the trial ( would love to have bill tell her what Nathan said at enquiry about serving honorably) and about what Dylan put him through to save Ally and protect little Jack. I think Nathan won’t take things for granted either or assume anything which will further help. I think next week we are really going to see healing for everyone and dally together about Rosemary and the businessman that’s up to no good. I think she will give Lucas some comfort but things will be changed. She won’t want to rush and hurt Nathan anymore until she is sure.

Once again, amazing analysis! 👏👏👏 This scene had me so stressed out the first time I watched it. Nathan has amazing self control to just walk away from Lucas (who was completely wrong and out of line in that conversation - he says the "perfect" thing in the moment, then does the opposite so often). But when Elizabeth tapped Nathan on the shoulder, I thought she was going to tell him she is seeing Lucas and still can't give him what he wants or something...and you could see the apprehension on Nathan's face. His emotion when she said she didn't blame him for Jack's death got me right in the ❤ and gave me all the feels. What a sweet, healing and bonding moment for them. Now we need her to realize she loves him so we can get some real 🔥🔥🔥

Loved it!! Once again you are spot on and I was so excited to see this. I’m very glad I discovered your channel. I would love you to do one on the scene in church where she fiddles with the rings and looks right as they speak of patience and kindness and love doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. I think it’s part of what led to this scene.

I think that Lucas has every right to feel insecure because when he want to kiss her in the rain which would have been so romantic, she backed off and I think any other man would think, do I really want to pursue this woman anymore. But then again this is Hallmark and he has to portray the character that they want him to be in this movie

In an interview, Kevin & Chris talked about this season throwing some curveballs (my term, not theirs. I’m sure they had a much more elegant term). It looked like she was leaning towards Nathan in the first couple episodes and then it was Lucas, I have to hope it moves back to Nathan one more time. Love these two together!!!

It is good to see Nathan and Elizabeth finding forgiveness inspite of the plotting by Lucas. E.izabeth is finally acting like herself.

Beautiful analysis, like your previous ones. Thank-you for sharing with us. This is such a powerful scene, and about time too. It has been a long road to get here.

I think you’re pretty spot on with your comments during this sing. I’ve heard people make comments about their holding hands it was it as intimate as Lucas and Elizabeth. If there was such a genuineness to that so I disregard their comments. I believe Nathan was breathing hard because I think he was so relieved I have to carry that burden for three years and I believe he was excited to be that close to the woman he loves. I recall back to the I love you scene, And I believe Nathan is happy to be standing in front of him holding the hand and looking into the eyes of the woman he loves ❤️❤️❤️

That deep breath, to me signifies relief that they finally made it over this hump of stress and sort of non-friendship type connection. She ignored him for the longest time, but what I loved about his part was that he didn’t push her at all. He wanted more than anything to talk to her about this and try to get through it together, but he also knew that this was huge news about her husband and his untimely death. She needed time to process it before she could speak to him again. He was patient and it paid off in the long run. She finally spoke to him, which is definitely why he stuttered because he wasn’t expecting her to talk to him, at least not at this shindig. But she not only talked to him, she told him she didn’t blame him for Jack’s death. This was the salvation he needed. For a long time, he struggled. He probably couldn’t look at Elizabeth without thinking on what happened to Jack for a long time. But his heart got in the way and I think it became a little easier for him since he was falling in love with her. But then it probably made it all the more harder because he still hadn’t told her about it. Omg! This is such a huge turning point for them! I loved this scene so dang much! When he took her hands and she let him…. I wanted to swoon and faint dead on the floor! If that happened because of him taking her hands, I can’t imagine what a kiss will do… I am so excited to see more next week!

@@thelittlescenes1185 Just like you said "Yup", when Elizabeth ignored what Lucas was saying when she saw Nathan riding Newton past the school, I laughed so hard at "shook" my daughter came running down stairs to see what I was laughing at.

Your in-depth analysis is so welcomed and appreciated because, I will speak for myself... it helps me to delve much deeper into what has really happened and what’s happening. I love your videos because at this point in series 8 I just need this incredibly detailed analysis. You’re my new best friend! I appreciate how you have noted the moment the BURDEN was lifted from Nathan and we can actually see it happening and I say the hand holding is to commemorate this healing in an almost ceremonial way. Healing for them both. One thing I notice is that in the final frame, It looks to me like she is gripping his hands just as tightly as he is gripping hers. Even more notable is that she remains locked in eye contact with him as the contact lengthens. One question: Did you catch was Nathan was saying exactly to Bill as Eliz interrupted him?

I agree she’s definitely holding on just as tight and I didn’t write about the eye contact because the video was already too long- but they’re both just looking at each other and staying in connection, no one is fleeing the scene (AT LAST). I don’t think I caught it since the first time I heard “now they are married. I’ve been in this town for 3 years and I” and the second time I heard “I was married. I’ve been in this town for 3 years” lol and I seriously doubt that Nathan was married. Sooooo.....what did you hear??

Lucas has it all wrong Nathan has been nothing but respectful of Elizabeth. Throughout this whole situation yes he has been honest with her about his feelings. And given how things went between the secert he was carrying to protect her with good intentions. He sought out to be completely honest with Elizabeth given he sees how not being honest hasn't been good for there whole realtionship. He wants Elizabeth to know no matter what goes on that he loves her completely already he knows. And that's so amazing and so just admirable of him it only makes me love him and his character more so. But ever reaction they have had so far out from him telling her he loved her the first time. Has been completely on Elizabeth she comes to him he is allowing her to process her feelings. And that indicates he does not want to pressure here into anything once so ever. And another thing since Lucas is so concerned why hasn't he made it clear to Elizabeth yet how he feels about her. He has been doing all these grand gestures but come on what's your real motive here anyways? Why haven't you told Elizabeth that you love her or to some agree just directly you really care about her deeply or voiced your feelings. Why hasn't that conversation never happens it should have already happened at this point.

Maybe the deep breath at the end could mean that he's nervous about what her next move could be...? He doesn't know, even though she's forgiven him, if she will be able to open her heart to him.

This scene was all the reassurance I needed to know she'll pick Nathen!

I don’t see it at all. Just look at the infirmary scene and now this scene as opposed to her closest moments with Lucas...no one gives up a story about Nathan & Elizabeth for a story about Lucas & Elizabeth. It wouldn’t make sense

I could not wait for your analysis on this one because I think this might be my favorite ever Nathan and Elizabeth scene... so far 😉 ♥️♥️♥️ I just think they’ve come so far and this scene is vulnerable and caring on a whole new level between both of them. I genuinely didnt know what was going to happen the whole time, the tension was so intense. And when Nathan got visibly choked up, I almost lost it. And MAN I missed vulnerable and caring Elizabeth but it looks like she’s on her way back!!! 🥰 THANK YOU, AS ALWAYS!

I'm still amazed that Lucas thinks Nathan is "pressuring" Elizabeth when so often she seeks him out. I loved this analysis and I think we will see the tides turning in Nathan's favor now..

She seems to be in a relationship with Lucas but can't leave Nathan alone. Sorry, Lucas supporters, I think she might want to be with Nathan. Maybe she wishes she could marry them both🤣

I waited eagerly for your body language analysis, thank you for doing it. I read it mostly like you. I think Elizabeth finally realized what a "Hypocrite" she is! She tells everyone to give love another chance and how the future throws curveballs, but life goes on, and the greatest joy can be missed if you don't take a chance! The lightbulb finally came on in speaking with Katie. Elizabeth has been in love with Nathan for a while, and is very comfortable with Nathan, not with Lucas! Even when she is with Lucas, you could see she wasn't completely comfortable. It reminds me of the time she went home when her mother was sick, and Charles was always around making his moves. Elizabeth never looks at her wedding ring when she's with Nathan, and does when she's with Lucas. Elizabeth usually walked around the prison and would strike up conversations with Nathan. Lucas always got stuff for the library to get Elizabeth's attention. Elizabeth willingly raises her hands towards Nathan when he moved towards her, then they had intimate eye contact for a while! I have been frustrated with Elizabeth's hypocrisy!

To a certain extent. People married to police officers, soldiers, or firefighters and loose them in the line of duty, the majority will marry someone in the same profession. Elizabeth who gives everyone advise about hearing others out and not jumping to conclusions shows her true colors, not only with Nathan, but her best friend Rosemary.

I get confident and then worried again. But, I can't see the season starting out with Elizabeth telling Nathan she can't be with him because she's afraid she'd lose him. Not to mention she said if she stays she won't be able to leave. That isn't a woman without feelings. I can't imagine this "Afraid to lose someone I love" being a central theme in the story just for her to choose Lucas who she clearly isn't afraid to lose, or she wouldn't be with him. Elizabeth gave advice she, herself could not take. I can't see that as something so ongoing for her to only end up with Lucas. I think the choice was made when she said "I can't be with you for fear of losing you," because that just shows she needs to learn to grow. It isn't an appropriate reason to not be with someone.

She fought loving Jack for fear of losing him, too. If she had never married him, she wouldn't have little Jack. Losing Jack was her greatest sorrow, but having his son was her greatest joy. I hope she realizes it's time to follow her own advice and live for today.

Another thing that I noticed was after she said she didn’t blame him, there was shock and relief and emotion! It looked like he was going to cry!!!!! I love him!!!! Kevin is a fantastic actor, omg! Something that you said about Lucas’ and Nathan’s conversation… yeah it totally was NOT about Allie!! She was just an escape goat to justify Nathan staying away from Elizabeth!!! Coward! I’m sorry, but it had to be said. Back to being nice…

I love that the aspect of healing of hearts is foremost in these last 2 episodes. Both N and E were carrying burdens of guilt(N) and loss(E). It takes someone who is actually going through similar or have been through it to feel and understand the hurt if that person. The pain, sorrow and relief on Nathan's face as she said those words was epic. I know we are running after the romantic focus of the picture but look at the show's focus of forgiveness, love of another person and being able to release someone from their hurt and see them set free. I am Team Nathan but this last episode had more meaning to me than what the end result would be.

For me, as well, not just abt storylines of love, romance or fun in HV...foremost is the life lessons of forgiveness, grace and compassion that each role brings to us, listeners, watchers and fans! Good heartfelt, realistic pains we go through as humans req humility and redemption - Christian values and goodness, they share through their roles is great! NOT ONLY Great actors they are - but also great persons in real lfe, from what I hear from Erin, become great friends - family on and off the show!! WCTH is unique series in their ensemble of storytelling!! HM, More Season please!💖💖🙏

No I don’t think so. I think after she chose him and that every time they touch she feels something that is missing with Lucas. I think with Nathan everything comes effortless but with Lucas she is beginning to see it’s forced on her part.

She has seemed very comfortable spending time with him but seems to clam up any time they get physical, like when she pulled her hand away at the saloon and looked super uncomfortable the first time he took her hand at dinner. Yet, she can hug Nathan like her life depended on it and let him in her home. (Although part of me wonders if that hug wasn't her deflecting feelings from Jack onto Nathan?)

@@nanb7149 no because remember what she said to Rosemary in episode 1 that when she hugged Nathan she realized she felt more than she thought she did for him. The go to end of episode 2 how she said that she couldn’t be with him because it would hurt too much if she lost him the way she lost jack. Think on all the ways she has pursued Nathan before and since. I think when Nathan finally managed to ask her on a date before he left that it made her realize that with Nathan it wouldn’t be friends and something shifted somewhat and made her wonder what it meant for them and then the hug. Think how when he said I know you feel the same way I do and she said I can’t. She’s been running since and being more erratic the more she has tried forcing something. Become more unlike herself and alienating others. Even Bill.

I think this would have been the best time to tell him if it was. She could have said, having said that I want you to know that I value your friendship, but I am in a serious relationship with Lucas. But, she didn't. Lucas keeps blaming Nathan for putting pressure on Elizabeth and that is ridiculous. Other than telling her he loved her, he has put zero pressure on her. She is the one that seeks contact with Nathan.

I think you are spot on. Lucas shows a little of his insecurity in his relationship with Elizabeth. The breath at the end from Nathan is a release of his guilt and his thankfulness of how Elizabeth doesn't blame him. Holding hands confirms their connection and respect for each other

I am very worried because of all the TL comments I see elsewhere but I just had a thought....The triangle HAS to end with Elizabeth and Nathan otherwise the story wouldn’t make sense. TL people claim that the show shouldn’t take the “obvious”/“classic” route and pick Lucas but that wouldn’t make sense. In my opinion, the reason Nathan seems like the “obvious” choice is because we have been SHOWN signs that make that so. We have seen the intense interactions between Elizabeth and Nathan that shows us Elizabeth has strong feelings for him. If Lucas was meant to be the choice, then there would be no triangle because he’s clearly perfect: he’s generous, thoughtful, rich, educated, handsome, has things in common with Elizabeth I.e. books, is helping her publish her book, does the romantic gestures perfectly, is patient, is respectful, says all the right things, doesn’t have a dangerous job/is not a Mountie...etc. If Elizabeth didn’t feel more strongly for Nathan, there would be no question. No triangle. Nathan’s presence could’ve been a slight hiccup (mini triangle) if he had actually actively pursued Elizabeth in the beginning (like Rosemary or Charles). But he never did. Elizabeth continuously sought him out. Elizabeth’s heart is clearly with Nathan and the show is called When Calls the Heart for goodness sake! The only way this makes sense is if Elizabeth chooses Nathan. The “formula” is there for a reason! We have to be able to follow the heroine’s thought process. In some “predictable” stories, they make the character that’s not chosen clearly wrong for the main character so that the audience doesn’t feel bad for them. WCTH has not done that part and this choice makes the show more entertaining and that fact I think is the “unpredictable” part. The “unexpected” choice, however, would only make sense if we were watching a psychological thriller. What do you think??

I think unexpected choices are too risky for a show like this. It is what you would do in a movie that only lasts 2 hours, MAYBE. But definitely not in a series like this with long running success

But before season 8 began, in interviews, the actors said there were going to be a lot of twists and turns and this is the first time I have really seen Nathan and Elizabeth together in anything other than sparing. Here we are at the next to last episode and it's been Lucas all along. Personally, I'm going to cry if it's not Lucas.

I loved the " *Bill knows* " part

This scene is about forgiveness and redemption, hope and grace. Nathan and Elizabeth share a common loss. Nathan feeling guilt and Elizabeth feeling loss. I like Lucas. But in couple of episodes of season 8 he has said and acted has bugged me. I'm glad Nathan walked away from the conversation with Lucas he was definitely the bigger man. I will always be rooting for Nathan no matter how the season ends.

Sorry Lucas but it’s game over time. Nathan will come out on top. I’m 100% convinced of that after this scene. #teamnathan As for Nathan’s sigh at the end of the scene, I simply think it is from relief. A huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Up until now, he felt guilty for Jack’s death and thought Elizabeth blamed him as well. However, now, he knows she doesn’t blame him. ❤️❤️

Ahhh such a good scene! I love your analysis videos, you always bring up things I didn't notice! I feel like it's really leaning towards Nathan. If not, what was the point of all this build up? I'll give Lucas some props though. Nathan did tell Lucas' girlfriend (essentially) that he loves her, twice. It's perfectly normal for Lucas to be upset at Nathan, but he has never lost his temper. He's stayed fairly calm through it all. I think he'll bow out gracefully when he realizes for sure where Elizabeth's feelings lie. I hope he does, because I would love to see Lucas and Nathan as friends instead of rivals. In the very few scenes where they've acted friendly towards each other, they had great friendly chemistry. So I hope they become friends. Anyway I'll quit ranting. Thanks for making these! 💜

The great thing about Nathan is that he has the same level of respect when Elizabeth is around and when she’s not around, doesn’t seem so true for Lucas

What great actors. They are so into their characters. Lucas has always misread Nathan. Telling E. that Nathan would never be satisfied to be just friends. Believing N. has let Allie know how he feels about E., as if Allie doesn't have eyes. The entire town knows, in fact. Lucas telling A. that he and N.will work it out as if they are competing for a prize. Well, guess in a way they are but E. will be the one to work it out. Lucas does see N. as "competition". He is so insecure.

@@jeanpeet8817 I hope I understand you well, Nathan loves Elisabeth and works for getting her love. Between Nathan and Elisabeth, Lucas is not a presence, Lucas disappears. I don't remember a conversation between the two where Nathan talks about Lucas. Even when she went to Union City, Nathan doesn't ask. Elisabeth decided to tell him, I remember "you know why I'm going with Lucas, he asked". This season Lucas is always attentive to the relationship between Nathan and Elisabeth, he is very doubtful about how to understand it and this makes him nervous and also a little sneaky and in control. Sincerely i'm team Nathan since the beginning.

So many comments about this new and very interesting episod and analyze. Thank you so much. I enjoy. The talk between Nathan and Lucas was great, Nathan ignores the understood about Elisabeth. Drink his glass and go away with it seems some satisfaction. Elisabeth sees the scene and realizes it's time to have a little talk with Nathan. Finally Elisabeth opens her heart to Nathan not blaming him for Jack's death. They are both relieved, relaxed and helping each other. I think the confidence is restored, so holding hands is something natural and the look is deep.😜 Lucas sees them, voluntarily or not, and his face beginning dark...how is he going to react? So many options, this man is so mysterious for me😕 Which behavior Elisabeth is going to have with those two now? Here is my humble comment 😜 but I'm not still sure about the outcome 😏

Elizabeth goes after Nathan because she saw his upset look and he didn't acknowledge her ( because she has been ignoring him ). Yes, confidence is indeed restored! And it did feel so natural for them to hold hands and also physically connect in this very healing moment (I guess hugs weren't a thing in 1918) Lol. I can't wait for Sunday

heavy entertaiment did a poll on team nathan vs team lucas and team nathan won by 728 votes with team nathan having 1135 votes and team lucas only 407 so if hallmark is listening to is viewers the end result should be in our favor. and what good business goes with the smaller amount of votes!

I feel like the polls are always distorted (especially when one team shares the link to it, or the site is already biased) so I'm not sure about them anymore. But I think the Nathan storyline is just overall much deeper- no writer/producer/tv network would give that up

I go by what I see on all things SM. Overwhelmingly Nathan is the choice for most people, even on the ProLucas sites. I just can not fathom HM going against the fans on this first, but more importantly, going against the love story of Nathan and Elizabeth. Literally, it would be illogical to build this story up only for her to go with Lucas. Yes, I hate this triangle has been this way but I think it was meant to show true love runs deeper than just romantic gestures.

Thanks for this! Amazing job and great job pointing out that Lucas didn't really want to fix the situation for Allie, he wanted Nathan to back down and stop creating his own discomfort in the fact Elizabeth seems to be waivering away from him. Lucas is no longer secure and he is showing his hand a bit. Also, This year hands and hand holding means something.... Elizabeth pulled back in public when Lucas tried at first then later L and E walked hand and hand... We have seen Elizabeth play with her ring alot and in this episode they really did focus during the wedding scene on two things... Lucas and Elizabeth, each with their hands in the lap, and Nathan and Allie holding hands in solidarity. Just interesting. Also interesting that the adoption ceremony they look like a family getting married and now this finally scene E and N look like a wedding scene too. I really hope Nathan is the end game. 😍 I wish is was resolving before ep 12 because I'll be honest. I still can see how they swing it either way. Maybe I'm bracing myself so I don't feel the shock as badly as the loss of Jack if, in the end, she says to nathan " be happy for me and Lucas"..... 🤷🏻 Oh theme writers really are brilliant this year!

Wow beautiful overview! Exactly right, Lucas is feeling insecure and rightfully so...Elizabeth isn’t making him feel like she’s chosen him. I also thought showing them not holding hands as opposed to Nathan and Allie meant something- the adoption, the bachelorette party and now this...no more doubts for me

@@thelittlescenes1185 Once again you have done a WONDERFUL analysis of a pivotal scene. Thank you! I think every observation and every comment were 100% accurate. After I watched the episode on Sunday, and this scene in particular, I was so torn. Is she finally compassionately "friending" Nathan after his "admission of guilt" and her "forgiveness" or is the bond deeper, a jumped hurdle headed toward passionate love for those two? (Second one...please!) These writers are excellent at their job.. Each word and utterance by the actors is calculated to throw viewers off...Why is it that every time she has twisted/touched her wedding ring Lucas is there? AHHHHH! I sure HOPE Nathan and Elizabeth end up together because 1. He takes her breath away. Heartfelt reaction to him. 2. Their conversations are always meaningful, not superficial. (most recently, Allie's adoption, Jack's death) 3. Nathan and Elizabeth really do complete/complement each other. They need each other to be their best selves. The actors have all said they want to leave it so that the BEST stories can be told going forward. For my money that's NATHAN and Elizabeth. I just wish I had your confidence....

my fiancee thinks shes just having nathan as the storyline to move on from jack and let go and forgive and let her heart move to lucas fully instead of wavering omg i hope not i will just die and cry forever. i dont see it that way i see it as opposite, lucas mom ruined their date anyways. but also that she said yes to lucas but her heart isnt fully in lucas and that these scenes are showing that her heart is calling to nathan

There's much more to explore yet with Nathan- like you said, there hasn't been a date with him. She has NOT given him a chance and it hasn't really been a triangle this season.

Lol! No, I think Nathan may have brought her home and then went back to pick up Allie- or they just went to their respective homes

First- this scene with Nathan and Lucas, This scene had me super pissed at Lucas. L is showing a side of superiority, that he assumes Nathan would use Allie to get to E, but also it shows that he does not have confidence to allow E to handle this herself, which I believe, Elizabeth would be super pissed about. I think she would not be happy that L interjected himself in this as if he believes it’s his job to handle this. It’s about control and ownership on L’s part. As a female, this would piss me off. Second- the scene between E and Rosemary- I think we need to talk about this as I am very annoyed at E for treating her best friend with such disrespect. The short scene between them is more about Rosemarys disapproval of how E has talked to her and treated her. As a female I read this scene as bad blood between she and E.

Interesting! Since Rosemary has compressed lips too she could definitely be showing disapproval for Elizabeth’s behavior toward her- I thought she was just upset, but I see what you mean and why you say that. Elizabeth hasn’t yet apologized even though it’s time. It’s funny how a lot of team Lucas people see Nathan as pushy and controlling when Lucas is actually doing that a lot...the non-date date, buying tickets for the reading, the book manuscript, now Nathan..

@@thelittlescenes1185 I agree, Lucas has been very pushy at times and he has assumed a lot of things as well. People have also made comments about Nathan’s temper but I think Lucas has had the biggest issues with that. He left town for months just to get over a hug. He has been very rude and acted in a childish way towards Elizabeth when he has been angry at her. Lucas said he doesn’t accept things easily and this shows in his behaviour, especially when he is angry. Both Lucas and Nathan have a lot to learn about relationships and how to express their emotions.

Ya know, at first, I was just going to feel bad for Lucas because he seems like a lost little puppy dog, with a crush. And, he is sweet and romantic. But after this scene, I'm feeling less sorry for him. He's starting to turn a bit possessive and stalkerish over her. It isn't Nathan that keeps seeking out Elizabeth. She seeks him out. He has yet to seek her out since his "I'm in love with you," and she ran off. He isn't pressuring her. He isn't coming to find her nor asking her to be with him. Nathan telling Elizabeth he fell in love with her was the honest answer to her question. That isn't pressuring her. Lucas fans peeving me by saying he's pressuring her by saying it again. She asked him a question and it was his honest answer. AND - him watching as Elizabeth goes to Nathan and they walk out together, and him following her... to look out the window. That was so damn creepy. I know Lucas fans got excited because in many movies a guy catches a moment that didn't mean anything and gets upset... but he didn't even really catch it unintentionally. HE FOLLOWED THEM!

Even the first I love you scene happened after ELIZABETH asked him to meet her after his trip...I agree he is simply being honest (finally) and it’s refreshing and nice and not something you can hold against him. It’s time for Elizabeth to make a clear choice so that Lucas can stop feeling so uncertain and insecure.

When Nathan and Elizabeth step outside of the saloon to speak, why is Nathan at first frustrated with what Elizabeth has to say? Is it because he is worried she will criticize him?

Yes, I forgot what I wrote exactly but I said in my commentary that he expects more of what Lucas told him - and he obviously doesn't agree with that because he was simply being honest in telling E his feelings. This frustration and annoyance and DEFENSIVENESS we see when they first step out is because he thinks she will be accusing/criticizing him and is bracing himself.

She’s upset because she sees Elizabeth’s concern/connection/love for Nathan - but she couldn’t bring Elizabeth to recognize it and it caused a rift between them. Does that make sense?

Patience- being friends is the foundation of any good marriage. It’s good that he is back in the “friend zone” again. Lucas is still on the outside looking in even in ep11 (and ep10)...and i don’t see him coming back inside. A lot of people have requested that clip too!

I don't believe they will put Fiona with Nathan because she would be amazing with Lucas. There it was last night, what I have been waiting for.....when Mike asked Fiona to work with him, Henry, and Lucas. As Mike said, she is a brilliant business woman!
