WCS Tutorial - The 6 vs 8 Count WCS Dance SECRET

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this WCS tutorial with Anthony and Rose Lewis of Country Dance X, you'll learn the secret of how to dance west coast swing 6 and 8 count patterns.
Once you've learned how to dance west coast swing basic steps and graduate into more intermediate wcs moves, you'll be introduced to both 6 and 8 count patterns such as whips wcs intermediate moves.
Before you could even consider becoming a WCS advanced dancer, you'll need to understand the two rhythms and how to lead/follow them as covered in this west coast swing lesson.

    Thanks for this explanation. It helps I think if the leader is decisive and really knows and leads and the follower has frame and can "hear" the lead.

    Thank you for your amazing videos in here. I have an question, the music got 8 counts, some times we do 6 counts pattern and put in an 8 count pattern but how to follow the count 1 when you switch between the pattern?

    This is a common question from musicians. It's irrelevant. Think of it as having a 1 count every other beat.... 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2. You can start on any odd count.

    Or you can just dance sets of 2. :-) Learned at a comp many years ago (Royston? Durand? Roesel? Can't remember anymore.)

    How does the follower know how to pivot or not on the 2 on the switch. By 4 that move is over and they did not pivot if they did not know.

    Assume it’s the music beat that determines 6 or 8 count?

  • @countrydancex

    @countrydancex

    Жыл бұрын

    Actually, the music has nothing to do with it. You could lead a 6 or 8 count pattern at any time.
