WCS lesson recap | arm catch and redirect from sugar tuck

Ойын-сауық

00:00 intro
00:26 hand on forearm contact
00:55 mutual consent - ask for a different connection point and a response.
Followers are expanding their frame differently from normal, remember to return to basic positioning after interactions like these are finished.
01:05 leaders feeling for themselves what not to do
01:45 main idea - tuck with redirect
02:00 lead energy for the compression
02:25 when to ask for a different connection point - before we lead with compression
02:40 follower reading the situation and how to respond.
A tight arm is going to feel like a pull and make it harder for leaders not to pull, expand from the back so they can feel you stretch away.
03:40 quick note on leading throws
04:05 leaders don't pull, the energy comes from shifting to the right foot.
Also, preventing the follower from getting all the way to their right foot will help - keep their left arm from crossing center line to do that.
04:30 basic anchor exit. Remember to go back to your basic frame!
04:45 followers asking for a stop on 5 with hand on chest/shoulder. Be sure to catch your own balance, the hand on body is just a signal.
Spotting on the spin helps, head rotates first body follows.
05:05 leader's response - ribcage expansion forward combined with a weight shift to the left foot.
05:45 entry into closed position and visual signaling/mirroring. Followers fill space into the hand from their center, not by leaning back from their shoulders.
06:20 basic left side pass - these went much better at the end of the hour! Also a sneaky way for me to talk about starter step a bit.
