Avevo 14 anni, ricordo che fino a qualche giorno prima, c erano polemiche, perche questa Partita volevano trasmetterla solo su tele piu, e non sulla rai, per giunta criptata. Partita che poi fortunatamente fu trasmessa su entrambi i canali: Essendo poi la nazionale la Partita fu trasmessa aperta anche su Tel piu, nonostante il canale era a pagamento.

uno dei principali mali di questo sport, molto molto omologato che ormai ha ben poco da raccontare. La Pay tv ovviamente sottointeso. A piccole dosi ok. Ora ha davvero inflazionato il palinsesto, ucciso la passione con i noti orari spezzatino. Soprattutto nei duelli di fine calendario. Il resto lo fanno i campioni pop star molto politicamente corretti e molto, anche troppo, attivi sui social. Saluti :)

It's interesting that in the past most players never sang their national anthems. Only looking passively while the music is played. It's only in the last two decades that you see these very load voices as the camera pans across. Sometimes you think is this passion real or is it just to show.

No Name Joe Hart is the worst for this. It's clearly all for show. Now there's some media lead campaign to hang draw and quarter any player who doesn't show "passion" during anthems.

Di Chiara non andò ai mondiali effettivamente ma non ricordo il perché dopo che sacchi punto molto su di lui fu messo inspiegabilmente da parte. Forse perché gli ha preferito il suo pupillo Roberto mussi,suo allievo dai tempi del parma

What a crappy field! There is no turf left in front of the keepers, something you would expect from a third division club's stadium. Not Ibrox. Not for a WC Qualifier. I realize that Scotland was trying to limit the effectiveness of Italy's creativity in favor of Scotland's lumbering team, but I think that field is a disgrace. They would have been better served playing on a sheep meadow or cow pasture.

Sacchi mise Signori centroavanti e Lentini a sinistra, doveva essere il contrario. Un Italia troppo prevedibile, a parte qualche giocata di Eranio e Signori fecero davvero molto poco. Poi entra Donadoni e toglie Signori?? Ma togli Lentini e metti Signori a sinistra, alza il baricentro e comincia ad attaccare di brutto. Ne avesse azzeccata una Lentini quella sera!

Lentini potevi metterlo dove ti pare ma non é mai stato un giocatore da Nazionale (semmai faceva benino solo quando giocava sulla destra)...poi Sacchi é stato molto fortunato ad avere la Nazionale in un periodo d'oro perché tanta qualità a disposizione ma non ha saputo mai metterli in campo in modo di rendere al meglio perché voleva mettersi sempre in mostra lui stesso con i suoi schemi ed il suo tatticismo tanto che lascio´ fuori dalla rosa per gli europei 96 gente come baggio, signori, mancini...bergomi etc. per dimostrare che i singoli fossero meno importanti e che era lui con la sua capacità di schierare in campo "qualsiasi" giocatori a fare vincere...e infatti siamo usciti ai gironi.

Football was so bad. We grew up on this shit and thought these teams were the bees knees but boy has the game evolved for the better in the 25 years since. Very disjointed plays, flat 4-4-2s, very little interesting tactics.

@@carlad2640 no, not having a laugh. What's so great about leg breaking tackles? All the best players in those days were constantly injured because defenders with no skills could simply be rough to get an advantage. Today's football is much more tactically sophisticated, faster and attacking and free flowing. The rule changes were by and large fantastic four the game. Go and watch English third division if you want crunching tackles that go unpunished. And this observation is based on many games watched over many years; watching these games again now just reconfirm the reality.

This match really isn't a prime example of the era. Moreover, nowadays most big games are plagued by the ball being passed across the back, to the full back...then back across the back four. It was good in the 2000s (though I was never a fan of Spain's 'tika-taka', which was technically impressive yet soul destroying and boring to watch), but in the 2010s it developed into very negative and tedious play. Diving is celebrated by some pundits, which is shameful. I remember watching an incredibly disappointing tournament (can't remember which one) match between France and Germany in the 2010s, I was looking forward to the German side - who, since 2006, had been one of the most exciting international teams - putting on an adventurous display, but they passed it around the back for most of the game, rarely daring to try playing the ball forward. When France eventually broke on the counter and scored about ten minutes from the end, Germany found their spine and made several good chances, but it was too little too late. Regarding the fouling, when England lost the Euro final to Italy one of our defenders made a shameful pretence of being kicked in the face by a high foot when chasing to the byline with an Italian, the replay showed there was a foot or two between the foot and his head. No comment upon it from the commentators.
