Thanks for the input on the video angles! I was trying some new styles and I know all of them didn't work, but I like trying new things! Also, the colors are not 100% the final colors, I'll be perfecting the shades once I do my final mix!

@Bella Mae's Designs The second camera is unnecessary and highly distracting. The poping back and forth is slightly nauseating and adds nothing because it's just you talking to another camera. If you want to be artistic with your camera work take a class.

This video was super interesting! I really want to try screen printing now. Not sure I would get enough sun here in England to get them to dry properly though so I might have to buy the special lamp 😅 Your dedication to your work is definitely inspiring. And I totally agree that perfectionism for something you're passionate about is not a negative thing at all. Wanting to get something right for you is great! Also, yes, on the colours. Looking on the screen (which might make them look different than in real life so I might be wrong), the green seemed a little bit too blue compared to the movie pictures. Making mixing it with a bit of ivory dye could help?

I really appreciate videos like these that show the experimentation process. Sometimes it's easy to convince ourselves that the creators we watch always know the perfect solution/approach right off the bat, and it can be really discouraging when we try things ourselves and don't have amazing results immediately. It's nice to have reminders that trial and error is part of the process too, even if it sometimes doesn't get shown in a video!

I used the old school 'marky' method for years and just recently got an iPad and Procreate. Wow! What an upgrade. Totally fun and powerful design tool. I made an embroidery pattern this same way based on a medieval purse I traced and it turned out fabulously! Love that I can resize and refine the designs so easily to suit my perfectionist brain. 😂

Regarding your paint methods, if you would have added yellow into your pinks and green it probably would have been more coral-y and the green wouldn't have been as bright and blue-y, and probably would've ended up looking closer to the reference 💖

super fun video, screen printing with both pigment binders and dye is on the pensum at my design school so seeing you do it home was pretty inspiring as we usually work in a huge room with a lot of specialised equipment. once you get to printing on your final fabric, i can recomend using threads to mark out a grid to guide where you place down the screen! you measure at the edges of the fabric, use pins as markers and string thread around them, across the fabric. you can make a little mark at the edge of the frames to line up with said threads. i also recomed adding a little yellow to both your green and perhaps your corals, it would warm them up and give them a hue closer to you reference photos.

Sodium alginate and cold dye is genius for screen printing! I always learn something new here☺️ I love the dedication to details, I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself. It always seems more perfect when another perfectionist has a go at something, maybe because we're our own worst critics.

Ref: 6:20 If you just have a pixel picture or single layer vector file you can separate out the different color without much work in most paint/drawing program by generating a mask keyed to the color want separated. Then you can use the mask to remove the other colors or copy it to an new layer. If the source is from a photo or video you can use a color range to get all the different variation of a color to a single mask that you can key to the color that will be used for the printing.

👋 I loooove the work you have done on that dress, well done :) You are really inspiring me to pick up sewing again :) As for the camera angles, my ADHD brain is really struggling to stay engage I also rely a bit on lip reading, which I can't really do with the side angle I was still able to stick with the video and understand because you are very articulate so the autogenerated subtitles are usually accurate But that's just how my weird brain is wired x) if you and most of your audience like it, that's what matters ^^

I think the information in this video is amazing. Learnt so much about Procreate and how it works, it was so interesting. The screen printing, stencilling and dyes were so fascinating. I was so thrilled to see this being demonstrated, just so cool. And the results, so satisfying to watch them all. However… I am just so not a fan of all the video angles. I love it when you talk to the camera. You are so engaging and informative and I appreciate when you talk directly to the camera, as I can relate so much more to you when I feel you are talking to me, the viewer. Thank you again for making this content.

I'm pretty sure you don't remember, but your last two videos came out when I was just writing my master's thesis and then when I had submitted it, and those videos allowed me to get out of the chaos of my own head. And now I came home from my first week of "real work" (or well... I'm still a PhD student, but now I'm doing pretty much the same work as before whilst getting paid, so it counts as a work week to me) and you uploaded a new video! That's like as good as it can get, and it feels like you're accompanying me somehow from the other side of the ocean in this overwhelming time when so much is happening in my life. So thank you again so much! ☺️ I know you make these videos for everyone, but it fits so perfectly to my own life that it almost feels like fate wants to balance out everything that's going on and having me relax a little bit 😇

I just found your video and I love it. About cutting the stencils if you can get a Silhouette Cameo 3 or up you will be able to do any design you want, the program is very designer friendly and all you did in your ipad is done right on Silhouette program. Separation of colors and cutting. The Silhouette program is compatible with all Windows or Mac and you can download the Basic version for free and you don't need to go back to their website to use it. Silhouette doesn't discontinue their programs and the prices for the machines are way lower than others in the market. I bought my Silhouette Cameo-3 4 years ago and still very happy with it. At first I thought the program was going to be difficult for me, because I don't understand computers too well, but I made my first project on the first day I open the box.

Really excited to learn about seaweed thickener for dye usage, it kind of really opens up more doors since there are so many color options for dye mixes that are hard to achieve with regular paints. I've been experimenting using stencils on plywood for beehives, and have found sponge dabbers at the dollar store that work way better than those black wedge-shaped foam paint "brushes" for dotting the paint on. Love that idea with dye and sodium alginate though, one of the reasons I don't tend to paint clothing is I don't like stiff spots on my clothes and that would solve the issue pretty handily! And I had no idea screen printing was that approachable... looking forward to the tutorial. Thanks!

It is actually a bit harder to find usb ports on some commercial computers now. It seems like there's been an industry move towards only using the cloud for storage & companies making it harder to physically own move your digital files around. I've had several hardware failures with different types of ports where I buy an interface for my camera's info card use it just fine once & the computer never recognizes it again. Even using the safely remove hardware thing. The software just magically disappears during updates & there is no where online you get it again. It's beyond frustrating because I've tried 3 or 4 different things & now I worry that the next software to disappear is the cameras. As it stands now I have to use an hdmi cord to move my files to the computer. Random rant about companies & intentional obsoletion over.

@@tashacano3324 gaming pcs will be much faster anyways. I had laptop years ago and the keyboard, touchoad and screen all stopped working. So I had a monitor, keyboard and mouse all plugged into it. And even before that happened I was only ever using it at my desk so I decided to just get a desktop computer next.

@@CrownedLily I've had to do that too. My daughter stepped on one laptop & all the built-ins broke lol. Toddlers 🤦‍♀️ I wish I had gotten a desktop last time. My next computer will be a desktop. Upgrades are easier to manage with them.

I love your videos soooo much and have been following the presses of all the Cinderella dresses but I really don’t like these new angles when you’re not talking to the camera. Great work on the dress tho

Thanks for the input! I was trying new things and unfortunately realized too late that those angles don’t work well! 😭

Cricut should sponsor you. They sponsor so many creators who don't have anything as relevant to their brand going on as you do. I don't need to see another booktuber make a label when you are so much more artistic and creative

Bella - what’s with all the camera angles????? This is super weird to watch and is putting me off enjoying to the end. Which is a shame because I usually really enjoy your creative process

Wait 2015! You're telling me I have been telling myself "I should watch this movie and it seems really good" for 7 years and never did. Well this is embarassing😬 (I am so bad at watching movie I always end up watching the same movies over and over again)

Sorry not a fan of all the camera angles. It's very jarring seeing you talking off to the side.

There is also the blue leaves that is a bit darker than the background too on the bottom of the skirt. I am willing to bet they printed it all at once with a machine. They probably used a white fabric originally and that is why the colors pop more on the original.
