Went to a random bar in Traverse City with my then girlfriend around 2015, and heard the Wilson Brothers band play. I put two and two together when they broke out a Wayne the Train song. I always come back to these videos.

I never thought that anyone could do this like Bob Wills. I was wrong, Wayne and this bunch are right on it, just a little updated.

That might be the best steel guitarist I’ve ever heard. Playing outside and using dynamics and not just the same ol’ country steel guitar riffs!

yes it is, but at least it's done the proper way, not like the syrupy pap that Nashville calls country these days....but you should know better than most, that Wayne also plays some superb Hillbilly and Rockabilly...check out "Johnny Law", "Louisiana blues", "That's what daddy wants"

Heavily influenced by the blues. This is a cover of a of a Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys tune. Bob loved the blues and was a fan of Bessie Smith.

He's good ... but do check out Eddie Rivers -- the steel player for Asleep at the Wheel. Or Tony Locke, who cut at least one album with Wayne.
