How can such a sad song be so beautiful? I think God had a hand in getting Elvis' note to Wayne so he could turn it into such an amazing song. It rips my heart in two to think of how much Elvis was suffering. I hope and pray that he found peace in the arms of our Lord

Wayne did a great job both writing and singing this beautiful tribute to Elvis. I think he was able to capture the true emotions because he could relate to where Elvis was coming from. I think Wayne was able to learn from Elvis's plight and restructure his own life. Stardom is only good as long as you can enjoy a normal life away from the crowds and hoards of fans. Elvis was drowning in well-meaning fans and his Memphis Mafia, taking too much of him. There was nothing left, and he was dying from the inside.

I just happened to stumble upon an interview with Wayne discussing this song this morning… had never heard this story before? Wow! What an emotional moment for him? Thank you for preserving this letter and memorializing it into a beautiful song tribute to you friend Elvis. The pain he was suffering emotionally and physically had to be immense? It breaks my soul to think what he was feeling? Such a fantastic person he was? To be so lonely? I am so very sorry… 🥺

Sad bc Elvis is a legend & loved by so many ppl. He had money & things & mostly Lisa Marie! He lost Pricilla his true love. Never had the freedom to live his life with the way he wanted & made his fans happy but he was drowning in his personal life! So sad he was a beautiful man & greatest talent! Miss him! 💔💔
