Waydoid is the best way to run Android apps on Linux. The Android apps must be x86_64 (amd64).

Then start Waydroid from the applications menu.

From the start menu } start Waydroid.
waydroid session start
WAYLAND_DISPLAY is not set, defaulting to "wayland-0"
Wayland socket '/run/user/1000/wayland-0' doesn't exist; are you running a Wayland compositor?

weston
inside of the weston window, open up a new terminal by clicking on the terminal icon in the top left corner.
In terminal:
waydroid session start
In another terminal:
waydroid show-full-ui

Use the string of numbers printed by the command to register the device on your Google Account at www.google.com/android/uncert...
Log in using your Google account.
Paste into the field "Google Services Framework Android ID" the number (e.g. 48155661691619333).
Give the Google services some minutes to reflect the change, then restart waydroid.
waydroid session stop # will close waydroid show-full-ui
waydroid app list # confirms that waydroid is stopped: WayDroid session is stopped
close weston window.
weston
Resize the weston window as needed.
Inside weston:
waydroid session start
Wait until it says "Android with user 0 is ready"
waydroid show-full-ui
Sound works, copy paste from outside Android does not work. Show apps is swipe upwards starting from above the Home button as in Android mobile phones.
Outside weston:
waydroid app list
The web browser, calculator, Recorder works OK.
The bottom 3 buttons work OK.
Start Play Store, log in using your Google account.
Install apps from F-Droid.
