    Hey! Those are mirrors from Bajaj Avenger costing below something around 700 bucks. The chrome quality is way better than stock mirrors. The black ones are even cheaper. It's a DIY direct fit. Formula X is also a good option but if in a worst case scenario if it's a tube slit (a larger hole or a cut or a tear) then I guess it won't be so effective.

    You can avoid the strap if you're not planning to do off-road. But I will advise you to put them on since it's already part of the package. The wheel is trued before application. I haven't balanced the wheel yet. I will do that once the pandemic situation relaxes a bit. As such, no wobbles felt so far.

    The thread locker pretty much prevents the spokes from loosening to a certain extent. If there's a major damage to the spokes, then I am afraid the sealant needs to be re-applied after fixing the spokes. Like I have said in the video, as long as the integrity of the rim is fine, the sealant will hold on.

    Hey man! I recently got myself a BS6 Interceptor 650 and I'm thinking of going tubeless. I need to know a couple of things. 1. What tubeless tyre should I go for? I know I'll have to get rid of the Ceat tyres since they are tube-type tyres. 2. How often do you have to tighten the spokes/get a wheel alignment done? Also, if the Way2Speed kit is applied on the wheels, and I have to get the spokes adjusted, do I have to reset the Way2Speed kit? 3. How is it holding up so far? Thanks in advance. :)

  • @quikspin

    @quikspin

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey! Sorry for such a delayed response. 1. It's totally subjective. If you ride really fast then I think you will have to go for timsuns, Pirellis or metzellers. These are difficult to procure given the import restrictions. I use Ralco speedblasters and they are a notch below the recommended speed ratings. Nonetheless, I don't ride beyond say 135kmph. 2. I haven't tightened it yet voluntarily however when I gave my bike for service at RE service centre, they tightened it out of ignorance. But no air loss problems yet. 3. Holding up well Do you know that RE is launching 650 twins with alloy wheels? So hopefully tyres are also in the making. If you could wait a little more, perhaps you can switch to alloys.

    Hey, thanks for watching! No complaints so far and air loss is just like the normal tube tyres (2-4psi max over ten days). I have so far ridden on only tarmac. I am looking forward to do some mild off-roading in the future. Yes, you will get all the three straps in the kit. Please get in touch with Melwin (Way2speed). • @quikspin

    I used the same Pirelli tyres. It works only with tubeless and Pirellis which were the stock tyres back then were tubeless in nature. However, now twins come with CEAT tyres which are tube tyres. If your GT runs on CEAT, then this will be a costly affair.

  • @quikspin

    @quikspin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for your feedback. Both are good. Outex is more pricier while at the same time both Outex and Way2ubeless needs expertise in terms of application. However, Way2ubeless comes at half the cost and it has held up well for me. Ultimately what matters is how well Outex/Way2ubeless is applied so that it sits well in those rims.

    Pardon me for my lack of understanding, how does one fix a tyre puncture on this tubeless tyre? I am assuming that the whole premise is that a puncture on a tubeless tyre could be fixed without having to separate the wheel from the rest of the bike. If not, I fail to understand the point of this tubeless conversion as long as you carry spare tubes without this conversion.

  • @quikspin

    @quikspin

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey! You got the premise right. I need not remove the wheel to fix the puncture. I just have to plug it with a puncture repair kit and continue riding. There's a clip between 11th and 12th minute where the mechanic is fixing the puncture. You can fix it the same way without removing the wheel. I hope this helps.

    Front wheel wobble is common issue with interceptor. Fortunately I haven't experienced it on my inty so far. I felt no wobble at high speeds (max speed ridden upto 150kmph). In the video you can see me riding at 140kmph and it was stable. Nonetheless, if your bike is already having this issue then please get it checked before installing the kit. On a sidenote, wobbling can happen due to various reasons like the wheels may not be adequately trued, wheel balancing, tyre pressure etc..

  • @quikspin

If you want to do more at a stretch, then you may need to customize your seat for sure. Rusting is always an issue for any RE bike and you will have to live with it. The spoke nipples are locked with thread lockers (anabond) before applying the sealant. Hence the chances of the spokes loosening is low unless the motorcycle is ridden negligently. Even if the spokes become loose, you can tighten the spokes again and re-apply the sealant corresponding to the loose spoke inside the rim (in case if there is any air leakage). This is what I understood from the manufacturer.

    @@kunalmahar2604ok. They aren't tubeless tyres. Use them completely and perhaps when you're making the next tyre change you can think of getting a tubeless tyre in case you want to install Way2ubeless. Given the import ban, options for 18inch tubeless tyres are very limited. I may have to switch to Ralco speedblasters when it's time for me to change those Pirellis.

    What is the purpose of the 3 rubber bands? They don't provide sealing more than the butyl polymer caulk, and they add moment of inertia to the wheels - reducing acceleration, increasing stopping distance - and they increase unsprung weight, which makes the wheels less able to follow bumpy road surfaces..

  • @quikspin

    Hi Dave! Thanks for your insights and yes I may have to agree with you on this although I never came across a situation where I felt the bike was unstable. Maybe because I haven't pushed my bike harder (I haven't ridden it beyond 140KMPH). Those bands were provided to hold the sealant in place. But more than that it gave me some kind of sense of security (as I was an early customer back then). Ofcourse, the law of physics never struck me. My current Pirellis have almost reached the end of their life cycle (16500Kms) and I am switching to a new set of tyres. And as you mentioned, they don't provide these anymore. I will remove them when I get the new tyres fitted. The sealant holds pretty well without them is what I have been led to believe.

    There is this process called as cualking, which is done to seal window gaps for insulation during winters in cold countries. Unfortunately, this has to repeated every winter, because caulk starts to weather and break down. This conversion kit is nothing but two caulk tube with the gun, which hardly cost a few dollars in home depot. The blue thread lock liquid too hardy costs a few bucks and don't usually last long. I am sorry to point this out, but i think this whole product is too over priced for it is actual worth and looks to me like a ticking time bomb sold to unsuspecting customers.

  • @quikspin

    Thanks for the info. This is not caulk but sealant. The difference being the elasticity. Caulk is rigid when dry but sealant holds better during expansion and contraction. Nonetheless, I haven't come across any issues so far. But if I do, I will put up a video. Meanwhile, I do regularly check the rims.

    @@quikspin The term Caulk is actually a misnomer, it is not caulk, as in the material used for writing. Modern caulk is actually a synthetic polymer(acrylic latex, silicone, polyurethane or rubber) sealant which looks exactly the same(Personal experience of living in Canada for years). Please search for Caulking windows on youtube/google.

    Totally, you said. It's just another silicone window sealant which costs about Rs. 300 repackaged and sold as spoke sealant for an outrageous 5000. What a ripoff. If something fails while doing speeds whome to blame? I would rather use a purpose made item like Outex tape as money is not a constraint. And if I do cut corners I will get 3m marine sealant 5200 and 4412 tape.

    Hi Everyone! Many of you must be wondering about the long term performance of this product. Honestly, I haven't touched my bike since June as I had to travel to my hometown for an emergency and I am yet to return to Chennai which is not going to happen for sometime. Hence, let me apologize for not uploading a follow up video on this. On a sidenote, my friends who have tried this product and using their bikes regularly have no complaints so far. Update: So I finally got my bike back after 6 months. I have posted a video showcasing the offroad performance of the tubeless kit. Do watch it! kzread.info/dash/bejne/iZemsK6aXbHSltI.html
