    Now you're talking, JB! I use 476 on all my vehicles. (And on my snow blower)!! 476 is actually a hybrid. (Hence the petroleum odor). This stuff is TOUGH as nails, and I can easily get 10 months from it here on LI, NY. You are dead-on about not leaving 476 on any panel for too long. My method is to apply it THINLY to one panel, then immediately remove it. If you don't, your arms will fall off tying to remove it like you said. If this scares anyone, grab a bottle of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. It is the little brother of the 915, 885, and 476. It is a liquid, and you can apply it to the entire vehicle before removing. Being a Collinite product, it can easily last 4-6 months. And you are 100% right about doing this religiously. To quote Mike Phillips (professional detailer): "Find something you like, and use it often". (JB----------- Check out Griot's wax removing towels. You can thank me later.) 😜

    I really like this wax! It’s got it’s own spot in my detailing cabinet! I made the mistake of applying to my whole car a long time ago and then couldn’t get it off! Took years off my life lol! Right on! Find something you like and keep using it! I’m definitely checking out those towels! Thanks for sharing that! 👍👍

    If your car isn't crazy clean like this guy's you NEED you use a strip wash and then an iron remover and clay bar before waxing. Collinite is a great wax.

    @@GarageGear I built two raised garden beds yesterday. I used a pocket hole jig to insure that they stay together. They're 39 inches tall so that I don't have to bend over and weed. Just need to line them with plastic and put in some drainage holes.

    Great video! I have tried more ceramic spray and graphene waxes than I can count. In the winter the protection is always gone from the lower half’s of my doors after one storm. Does this stuff hold up in the lower door areas where they are constantly sprayed from the front wheels? Thanks!

    This wax usually lasts between 3-6 months. I typically wax my vehicles once every season. I’m in Buffalo and with out crazy weather coatings don’t usually last all that long.

    Waxing your vehicle definitely adds a layer of protection. In my area, roads are salted heavily and it helps keep salt from sticking to the vehicle. The shine is just a plus! Lol! Lots of good waxes out there!

    Greetings from Whitesboro, about two blocks from Collonite. I just did two vehicles in 476S yesterday and liked it a lot. I'm originally from Glens Falls (Lake George area). My girlfriend is in Rome, hence my move to the west. I've noticed the winter salt impact is worse here than back home on the east side of the state....non-stop lake effect. Since you are driving vehicles notorious for rusting, I am hoping you can share what has been working for you on the undercoating side of things. At the moment I've been applying RP-342 Cosmoline in high-splash areas primarily frame and Corrosion Free 3000 (or called Rust Cure) out of Toronto inside doors and behind panels where they are unlikely to get exposed to a lot of dust or splashes....competitors to that would be Fluid Film or Woolwax. Thanks.

    Hi @Garage Gear, just ran across this video. I know you mentioned that you don’t do much prep (clay, machine polish, etc.)…Aside from a good wash, I was curious if you strip wash the previous coat of wax, or if you just wax “as is” after your paint is dry? Thoughts? Thanks!

  • @GarageGear

    @GarageGear

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Gabriel, I keep things realistic when it comes to detailing! I wash and dry the vehicle thoroughly then dry it. Then wax it! Most waxes are a cleaner wax and as they are applied they’re cleaning the paint too. I’ll clay bar the vehicle once a year really quick before a wax if necessary. I apply wax once per season! One coat that’s it. I don’t have time to spend all day on it. Plus I’ve had a lot of vehicles hold up well and shine nicely year after year following this plan! And in salty Buffalo this plan works just fine!

    @@anthonyviscusi4042 there are black plastic trim Protectants out there that you could use. I have even used automatic transmission fluid on these panels too and got the same results. Both last equally as long. Both wash off after a rain shower or two. ATF is cheaper tho!
