The tiles are great fun . I was thinking how to hang a bigger tile.. all I can think of is to make a floating frame ..!!

That's all I have come up with so far as well . I do think they are beautiful in the float frames , although I haven't tried a 12x12 one yet . I am afraid that size would be too heavy in a floater but would love to try !! :)

Shari Replogle yes I also edged a tile with silver solder (I mess around with glass) and put cork material on the underside. Perhaps I should try grouting it into something.. it’s about the only thing I haven’t tried ha ha . Good luck with your Images Shari .

Another great project to watch! For some reason i still can't get any alcohol ink-like spreading at all on the gel press plate with the R&F white oil stick. Not sure what the problem is but I'll just enjoy one of the other methods you've demonstrated!! You are super talented and a great teacher!

C Smith Thank you so much and have fun ! Are you using a rubber brayer to spread the layer very thin the plate ? Keep experimenting :)

@@ShariReplogle Yes i believe so. I haven't used the gel plate much at all since i bought it so maybe it hasn't something that i need to clean off before i try again.

Love your videos. Do you smooth the paper on the gel press with your hand instead of a brayer because a brayer would muddy it?

Lovely work and great idea with the oil stick and alcohol inks..... did you use just regular printer/copy paper to pull those prints? Thanks :)

Karmakat59 Yes I used just regular copy paper for the prints on this video . It was Hammermill ink jet and laser . Have fun !

Lovely. I like using the 4 inch tiles to make coasters. I've not tried them with the alcohol ink. Can you use a resin coat over the alcohol ink to protect them, or will that reactivate the ink?

  • @ShariReplogle

Hi Kimberly! Yes you can resin them but you need to seal the alcohol ink on the tile before you add the resin or it fades the lines a bit. I use Krylon Kamar varnish . Have fun !

Can you actually use wax over the alcohol ink on the paper?

Will the alcohol ink fade over time? I have been told it will, but I see so many artists using it with a number of other media.
