    it is safer but it’s still not safe, you have the chance of it having a short circuit and causing a fire. I never keep my wax melter on or a candle lit when I leave my house. I turn it off and unplug it from the outlet before I leave. I also unplug my extension charging cord from my wall every morning. saves some $ on the electric bill

    3:00 You're like the only one on KZread who suggests what wattage to buy for a good scent throw. I've been searching for an answer to that for hours now. Glad I finally found a video that mentions it! I just purchased my very first electric (element) wax warmer today. 18 watts. Hope that works out for my scent needs. Thanks again for the info. 💜💜💜

    You're not kidding.. no one talks about it.. I bought a wax warmer last year that had great reviews. I spent hundreds of dollars on melts and could never smell a single one from every reputable brand I tried. I just got another warmer and now I can finally smell all my melts.. it was just a crap warmer apparently. It seemed standard to a lot of what other people use but for reason I couldn't smell a thing with jt

    As it may be safer because there is no open flame, wax can still burn pets. Especially cats who love to jump up on tables and inspect. Just keep that in mind when finding a place to have your warmer or make sure to watch your pets around them when the wax is hot.

    There is another method, aside from cotton ball. For anyone struggling to remove the cooled hardened wax, take a cupcake silicon mold, it will not burn or melt as the silicon is built to withstand oven temperatures, that burn much hotter than a wax warmer, mind you. Put the silicon mold on the warmer, put the cube or two in, turn it on, enjoy and when the time comes, turn it off, let cool and harden, then pop that bad boy out.

    Hey girl!! You might like the freezer method for removing wax also! I like to change my wax out overnight while I'm sleeping (besides the warmer I have going in my bedroom)so an hour before bed turn the warmers off to let them cool, then I go through the house and remove all of the dishes flip them upside down and pop them into my freezer and the wax contracts overnight so when I take it out in the morning the dishes are empty and ready to go! ☺️💕 I also use silicone cupcake liners for more stubborn wax, like scoopables, fortunately Walmart wax is super easy to remove! 🙌

  • @SelfCareCatherine

    @SelfCareCatherine

    3 жыл бұрын

    So I have tried the freezer method before but I only left it in for around 30 minutes and it didn't work for me :( Do I have to keep it in for longer? Does it just pop out? I want to try silicone cupcake liners so bad as well!! I have heard that some are too thick though! Please let me know ahaha I have so many questions!

  • @twoquickwicks3025

    @twoquickwicks3025

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@SelfCareCatherine Yes! They definitely need a little bit more time in the freezer! I would guess like an hour or an hour and a half should do it! You should be able to push on an edge to pop it or even tap it upside down on a counter and it will come out! As far as the cupcake liners! I just bought a stack of the silicone ones from Walmart and they are amazing! You can even carefully move the hot wax out of the warmer because the liner isn't hot to touch, and put a new one in to start while the last one cools! Once it's cool enough, you can just peel it away and it's super satisfying! 😄 I believe they make flip ins, which are the same idea but specifically for wax! I haven't tried those yet so I can't speak to them!

    This video is so helpful! And I totally agree with you, when candles start tunneling it annoys me to no end! 😱 I have a quick question by the way, I just bought a wax warmer from Walmart and I noticed that there is a tiny zip tie around the cable inside the melter. It like connects to the bit where the bulb screws in. I read the instructions and it didn't say anything about removing the zip tie, but I am a bit scared about warming the zip tie because I don't want to burn plastic lol. What would you suggest? Thanks once again for the awesome video by the way! 💕

    I can see the advantage of a melt/warmer vs a candle as you don't have as much worry over keeping an open flame lit. However, at that point wouldn't it be better to just have an essential oil/fragrance mist? It lasts a really long time and has it's own timer.

    Yes they are! There is no smoke! Only fragrance! They will not make a fire alarm go off!

    Hi Amanda! It depends on how deep your wax tray is!! I typically will use one but if I have a wide deep tray I will use two!! The scent on top dispenses the wax and if you make it took thick it wont warm the scent as well!

    they are not terrible but they are not the best! I would reccommend the mainstays electric warmers as they are only ten dollars! Get the ones that have the timers on them as those are higher than 12 volts!

    The warning on mine is to switch it OFF when not in home. Perhaps EU has stricter safer measures? Just bought mine today ( electric) and so far not impressed.

    I just let it get cold and use my pocked knife and cut it down the middle and throw them away. That is the easiest method

    I can’t use the plug in wax warmers because my cats are little assholes and like to knock them out of the sockets😭😭 one day I woke up to melted wax all over the carpet and my wax warmer was broken because of my cats

    I'll save you alot if mess & time. Use a piece of tissue or paper towel or toilet paper to remove your wax! I would never use cotton balls, what a mess. I figured this stuff on my own. Removing old dried wax use a dam old plain butter knife. Why would anyone use their fingers? What a mess! 25watts if half my mini fridge too. Just go everyone knows how high that is! What a high addee electric bill. I use a 12watt and it throws well. I have all styles. Cotton candy really sweet. Was my favorite but will give headache fast. I found fall scents, cooking scents like pumpkin pie & other sweet ones much appropriate smelling and realistic without headache. Using as smaller amount in a lower wattage will heat up a smaller amount faster to blow a strong smell fast too! I use a shish kabob stick to pick apart little chucks & mines last so long(my wax cubes) instead of putting alot in.

    Also - Don’t buy a LED bulb. They have no heat.
