Wax/Batik Technique and Silk Painting | How to paint a shirt in batik and Silk Painting tutorial

Ойын-сауық

Hello, everyone! I'm excited to share my latest silk painting video with you. In today's project, I combined two techniques on one shirt: batik and silk painting. Batik, with its rich history, has always been a traditional technique that inspires me, and I love experimenting with it. However, due to time constraints, I couldn't delve into the details. Silk painting, on the other hand, is a great practice for anyone interested in the craft, providing new learning experiences with each project.
For this video, I chose chamois silk and applied a hot wax mixture for batik, combining beeswax and paraffin wax in a 40% and 60% ratio, respectively. Using a 3-inch brush, I created batik lines with hot wax and later painted over them with silk paints.
It's worth noting that I opted for silk paints instead of dip-dye for my batik project. The gutta used in today's video is water-based and golden in color, complementing the silk paints for further detailing.
With over 20 years of experience in painting, I continue to learn from my mistakes. Each silk painting project brings me joy as I explore different techniques. In this video, I experimented by incorporating peacock feathers into the floral design. Since my client prefers a simpler print, I approached the project with a more straightforward style.
I'll be sharing the list of materials used in this video, detailing the items featured in my project. Stay tuned for more exciting content and happy painting

Silk paints take time to dry, and during that time, add black and blend. Or if you think your colour is drying quickly, add red in single petal and add black

Not at all. Transparent gutta thicker than any other colored gutta. Do not fill cone with gutta. Buy gutta applicators from your nearest drawing store or online. Check on amazon

Did you apply the gutta properly. There must be breaks in your gutta, and the gutta outline may be very thin . Check the thickness of the fabric, too. Apply lil thick gutta on thick fabric. Do not apply so much water on the fabric. Do not apply the water on the gutta outline.
