    @@chrispou2002 Hello Sir, great video. Looking forward to the next one mentioned above. Hope you could answer /explain how Apogee Symphony works on this system. I saw it with a LV1 setup on another video and wondered why is it being used for in the setup, hope you can help explain as I am a newbie to FOH sound mixing. Thank you Sir...

    Tepa Cookmuzic It’s essentially a very high end converter and I/O device, and this model is Soundgrid enabled. Thus, I’m able to access the analog and digital inputs and outputs on the device to use them as drive or insert points in the LV1 or SuperRack inventory.

    Hello there, really nice setup and explanation, did you made by yourself the rack mount for the displays?

  • @chrispou2002

    The racks are all stock cases, and the case with the monitors, computer and server is a design by OCD Labs out of Nashville, TN.

    on vocal wich pumps less and sounds clear while gain reducing alot for vocals elyisia or waves compressor?????? ....i need allot of clear gain reduction 4 monitors aloot

  • @chrispou2002

    @chrispou2002

    The Elysia isn’t a compressor. It’s a tone shaping/saturation piece. I’m actually very weary of using a lot of compression in monitors, and actually use multi stage compression for FOH quite a bit. Short answer would be - IF you’re going to use compression in monitors, I’d be very cautious of the amount of gain reduction you use, and keep it simple and in the box.

    This is totally not my thing, I'm an old school analogue guy. However, it's a really interesting video, looking at pro audio from a digital perspective. Analogue still rules, though, obviously. 😎

    what's defferent between neve545 vs waves PSE ? why not only use PSE ? thank you

  • @chrispou2002

    @chrispou2002

    2 жыл бұрын

    PSE is a very handy utility tool, especially when it comes to the frequency dependent side chain capacity, but the analog piece has one feature that the Waves unit doesn’t incorporate, which is the peak/RMS selector. On really good singers, this feature can be quite handy.

    Those are both just Dell monitors (2418, I think). The host control computer is the Axis One, mounted in the chassis with the displays.

    Hi , I am thinking seriously about purchasing a LV1 system , How often if ever do you have to connect to a dante infrastructure or to a madi network? Also have you had any system meltdowns. Thanks

  • @chrispou2002

    @chrispou2002

    My system is decently self contained. When running LV1 these days, I do keep it a little simpler than the demo in this video - meaning it’s just the LV1 chassis and some I/O. I don’t find myself connecting to MADI or Dante interfaces often in this configuration, but I have, and it works well as long as your clocking scheme is proper.

    How do you run playback from FOH? Thanks.

    I dedicate a pair of channels in the SG driver on the MacBook Pro to playback canned music, and have other ins/outs in that driver dedicated to multitrack record/playback, and SMAART pink noise generation.
