Massively happy for Ollie. As a Villa fan we have a complex that we arent seen as a sexy club , the season he's had he's not seen as a top striker. He works hard, doesn't speak out, doesnt court the media , lets his actions do the talking. That moment for Villa fans is up there with Platt in 1990. It could not happen to a nicer more professional guy. Love him. Meeks is spot on , we have never had a tournament where so many redemption stories have happened. One more game for the biggest redemption of all.

In 1986 I was a young boy growing up in the south of Italy, I was at my parents friends house when my parents told me to run with them to the top the roof (they have flat roofs in Italy and in a lot if mediterranean countries). At the top we waited and waited until a flash of light came past, magical. It was Halleys comet, which is visible every 80yrs or so, once in ur life on average. England players may only have this one chance in their lives too, and they too need to run to the top and seize the moment.

I have to be honest, I owe Kobbie Mainoo an apology. For most of the last year, I've completely dismissed calls about him being "better than Scholes" or whatever, largely because I saw it as the typical Manchester United hype. Having watched him with more attention in this tournament - the last couple of games in particularly - he is absolutely excellent. His creativity last night was great, but also his willingness to track back and steal the ball back was massive. For all the talk of Nico Williams Jr, Lamine Yamal, Jamal Musiala and Arda Güler this tournament, Mainoo deserves to be a part of that conversation.

I remember Maradona. It wasn't just the handball.... If you picture the 2nd goal, the reason 5 of England's players didn't put a tackle in , was because they had all been booked and given away weak free kicks beforehand. Watkins is a must start in the final but I can't imagine Gareth doing it. If he does, fair play to him. Adapt based on what you see. Kane has had a negative impact on performances throughout the tournament. He can't play in front of our 10s. Your analogy is flawed and I think you know it. He didn't save one room - he saved the entire house and unlike in previous games, he didn't wait for a fire to break out first - instead he took action to ensure a fire couldn't ignite. I'm not saying Southgate is perfect but to deny him credit for learning from his previous mistakes (which cost England Euro 2021) and for being proactive instead of reactive, putting subs on at half-time when he previously waited until injuries or injury-time, is just bitterness. You have to give credit where credit is due.

@@karmaascendant3936 I agree totally about Croatia, Italy and France. He lost us at least one trophy (Euro 2021). I am just saying we need to be balanced and fair. Did you ever expect him to make a sub at half time and another after 79 mins which involved hauling off his talisman and putting on 2 forwards? No and neither did I so let's give him so credit for finally doing what we had been calling for all tournament.

Gary, if you're going to put studs in the way of someone who is kicking the ball without making contact with the ball yourself while in the 18 yard box and the opposing player smashes his limb into your studs as a result then that's a penalty all day long and you'd be fortunate not to receive a red card, though you would deserve one.

I think Southgate has got lucky starting Kane all tournament, it's like we're playing with 10 men when he's on. We are very lucky that games haven't gotten away from us too much before the subs come on to make a difference. I love it that we have got to a final but I can't help but wonder how much easier it would have been if Southgate hadn't hamstrung the team by starting Kane (who obviously isn't at his best, let's face it).

For the penalty, you have to ask yourself one thing. If the same situation happens when a defender is clearing the ball, and a striker is trying to block the clearance when the defender's follow through kicks the striker...how many times out of 10 does the ref give a foul? The answer is 9 or 10, they give it nearly everytime. This pen was the same situation just the other way around. So imo it's a stonewall pen.

Defender attempted to block the shot to the obvious near side of the goal, so Watkins firing to the more difficult far side placed it behind the outstretched foot. The goalkeeper also assumed the shot would be to his left and so was wrong footed and ubable to reach the shot, which he probably wouldn't have got anyway as it was hit so sweetly and perfectly placed.

@@K-Bizzle, nah I'm giving life advice for free. Climate change is real, problem is bigger than individual level consumption, flying back and forth is not a good thing and ought to be avoided, drinking out of paper straws is not making much of an impact, but every little step buys us some more time. The real change we have to make is the overall energy-system - and with the time it takes to build say hydro or nuclear power-plants it will take some time and a major effort to get off fossil fuels.
