Waterworld: The Quest For Dry Land (All Cut Scenes)
Ойын-сауық
Every cut scene from the 1997 PC game 'Waterworld: The Quest For Dry Land'.
This video was created to showcase the effort Interplay put into these live action video cut scenes. Herein you will find new, original content filmed with actors, props and costumes from the film Waterworld.
There are also a few snippets of Waterworld footage that isn't in the theatrical edition of the film.
There are twenty five videos which convey the game's plot with two possible outcomes. The final video clip is a random piece of action. The videos were joined using their file names (M0.MVE, M1.MVE etc.)
The KZread editor happily accepted all the raw files except for three I had to re-encode first. Apart from that minor technical detail, these videos are untouched with no filtering or enhancements. This is 1997 technology!
The original files were created with Interplay's own video compression software at 420x280p, hence the low quality.
I created this video with the KZread Video Editor (kzread.info)

Love they got the original actors
Dry land is not only our destination, but also our destiny
All things considered for a 90's game the acting is pretty decent Tallyman probably goes down as one of the most sinister FMV characters ever, man's got a personality like the Joker

I agree, these are all decent actors who appeared in the film as well. You can find out a bit more information from my blog here: ukfilmnerd.wordpress.com/chapter-three-the-quest-for-dry-land/
Waterworld is one of my favorite movies ever. I actually purchased the Arrow Films Blu Ray set they released. It has 3 cuts of the movie restored with 4k scans of the original negatives. This game seems to have a lot of newer recorded footage with the original actors and even their real costumes they wore in the movie. This is kind of amazing.
A live action PC game version of the movie... In 1997?!!? With a lot of the actors from the movie even! Wow this is certainly a gem of unsurpassed value!
When you just realized (in 2022) that the movie should be on a half hour longer.
This is really neat. I love waterworld & this is so unique. Well done
First off I love, this film.second off I love, r.t.s. games like, age of empires Star-craft etc. This game had potential, for the time. But overall, I think it chould have been Better. The story was interesting, to see and the live, action cut-scenes remind, me of red-alert.i like, that you are the war chief of an army of rag-tag survivor's it adds, a unique apocalyptic, style to it. I think its worthy, of a 7.8/10..
Wow!! What a find!!!!
hey its Sillick from star trek enterprise.... lol awesome!
It is known that the world fell, and that most people in it died. The dead will not suffer the hardships of the terrible world which remains. Those born into this hell have no remembrance of anything else. Those who survived...Those who are the truly broken. For they know what was before. - Griffa, Mad Max (2015)
Maybe we can rapidly evolve into water creatures. - Sid, Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)
I saw Waterworld at The theaters back in 1995,and never knew this footage existed? It’s a shame the movie was a flop. There was so much potential for a sequel, prequel,or mini series. I knew about the video game, but not this? Thanks for sharing

Witold Mosakowski The movie cost $235 million to make and worldwide grossed $265 million. at that time that was the most expensive movie to make and was expected to make much more. I personally thought the movie was not a flop. But till this day unfortunately people still make fun of this movie

Yes but it still made some profit, technically it was not a flop, also it made money from rentals. I like this movie, liked it when it came out (I was 4-5 years old) and still like it. The older I get the more I appreciate it.

@@TobaccoRoadAI Where are you getting your information? The movie production budget was 175 million, worldwide revenue was 264 million (box office mojo) but that's not including ancillary markets in which it apparently did well. It's not a flop. It wasn't a loss for the studios. Do you even know what "flop" means?
I really enjoyed the movie (I saw the Netflix version, which I assume is the same one that was on cinemas). Some of these scenes were interesting, but I am glad that they were cut.

These aren't scenes cut from the movie. They're from a video game.

@@LawgSkrak yep. the game came out in 1997, same year as Fallout 1. same company made it too
No wonder it was so expensive to make. The deleted seens almost make a whole nutter movie.

I think you misunderstand. These videos were shown between levels of a PC computer game to further the plot of the game. These aren't video clips deleted from the film the game is based upon.

They weren't cut - They are cutscenes (scenes that cut the video game into parts). And they add some lore to the awesome film Waterworld!
Yikes.
