the æ character's name is pronounced "ash" and it used to make 'a' sound in the word ash, too. but now ppl see it and pronounce it "eyy." As a descriptivist, I'd say the way you pronounced æther is the correct pronunciation as it's how most people pronounce it, though that wasn't always the case

I think mostly these three, and Old PachMANn for 3bld (different spelling, from someone's name). If you want to stretch it, you could include huMAN twistlethwaite, lol
