A very well edited video that gives so much more than just the ordinary tourist video. This video both includes history, the Swedish character and soul as well as our eco-minded thoughts of how a modern and sustainable city should be. Most interesting. All thumbs up!

Very interesting and educational. Love the country. I whish people in the world could learn from Sweden how to live in piece and be generous to the nature and to other human beings. So many interesting ideas that are not being implemented in other part of the planet. They don't seems too hard. Just desire and devotion. Why? Why it is so hard to understand.

The only problem whit the government in Sweden today is that we are taking in to many immigrants that we cant put a roof over. And that's why i think we should atleast try to take in 500 per month instead of 1600 Per month so we can educate them and give them work and a apartment to live in. Because its rather more important to take in a number that Sweden can take care of instead of leaving them on the street well that's just my opinion :)

  • @thomasliangus

+MultiMangaGuy 1600 per month?! That is crazy! Why Sweden is taking that many immigrants now? Is there a people shortage in Sweden?

  • @cristiangrigorescu6285

+thomasliangus It is crazy as long you take immigrants and do not filter them - no matter their number, 10 or 1 million. The correct approach is an immigration program as Canada and Australia have. Filter each single immigrant according to its skills and integration capabilities.

The french journalist dosen't know what he's talking about. The social democrats came to power in 1932, not in the 1850s. Sweden stopped beeing poor because other countries invested in Sweden and we were able to use our natural resources. This was in the late 1800s, before socialism. Also, Germany didn't occupy Finland. It was the (obviously socialist) journalists buddies in the Soviet Union trying to invade Finland. They reluctantly allied themselves with Germany. Sweden sent voluntarily fighters to Finland to aid in the struggle against communism.

there is a difference between social-democracy and socialism. Thats mainly an american fallacy, and/or a conservative one. Also, its as worn out a subject as sweden being "sexually liberal". Sweden isnt socialist, any more than Canada.

It's the biggest city in Sweden. You can't go to New York, London or L.A. and expect to see wildlife and forests. That's the comparison he was trying to make.

  • @jkojkojkojk

This video isn't about any of those other places or diminishing how nice they are. The guy was just stating facts that in Stockholm there are forests, wildlife and water & that it isn't just a concrete patch of buildings like other major cities. In your quote "which other Country could claim the Possession of water, Woods and livestock?" - A majority of countries on this earth can claim this. But, he wasn't talking about countries, he was talking about a city.He didn't state that there is nowhere else that has these things. There are other major cities that do have those things & that's great. There's no reason to be sour at what he said.

Capital green city and a beautiful city (maybe the best in the world) but "The land of ideas" is a denomination more tightly associated to Germany :) " Land of ideas would have been more appropriated because it's a dynamo of ideas although not the top and certainly not at the level of Germany. It fits better "the best managed city in the world" because all of the aspects in a society are well proportioned like investment on science, ecology, distribution of wealth, equilibrated welfare state, sporty population, leisure time, daily calories, etc.

The French guy understand the "Lagom" and consensus mentality but lack understanding on why Sweden excelled, such as the economic growth started around 1880 and the base for the swedish success was built during the following 50 years. Furthermore that Sweden allowed transportation of troops to attack and occupy Norway and Finland is also factually wrong. The transportation through Sweden was mainly troops "on leave" from the war in Russia together during their war brotherhood with Finland. Real troop transports in Norway was during a time when they already had capitulated.

This was interesting until the political statement at towards the end. It was boring cliche and unnecessary to the context of the programme. Immigrants when given the power in any society manifest their own prejudices in the power plays. It is human nature so all you immigrants don't take the moral high ground because we can see through your " poor wee us " claims. The immigrants bring religion and we in Sweden are maturing out of the talons and divisivenesses that the ignorant religious bring. Come and live with us we have no problem but leave your tribal religions at the border before entering our great land. As Christopher Hitchens once said " Religion poisons everything ".

Religion is fake and was devised to control stupid people. Only intelligent people evolve out of religion. That is why the west brought us the modern world. The western brain managed to grow up and become intelligent. Now the freaky religious muslims want to come to the west and change our free thinking to that of their backward primitive thinking. This is why the west laughs at Islam ? the west no longer believes in voices from the clouds or in flying horses. Religion especially those of Abraham have always been laughed at by the worlds intelligent for hundreds of years. The Vatican still thinks it is relevant today but it is not,it is a relic of an evil past in Europe. Europe is now free of childish religions.

It's actually an integration problem, not an immigration problem. To be honest, if we learn how to integrate the immigrants into our society, Sweden will benefit a lot. More hard working people = more money. Almost all crimes in Sweden are commited in suburbs with extremely high immigrant populations. It's not their culture that make them bad. It's their bad childhoods and the fact that society has betrayed them. With almost no native Swedes in these suburbs, the immigrants will have a hard time learning swedish, and that means they probably won't complete their education. And because of the high demand of well-educated workforces, these people will probably only be able to become taxi drivers or waiters, if even that. And because most of the immigrants come from war-torn countries, a lot of the children will have war-torn parents that show no emotions or affection. This is the real problem, and it's a very complicated one to solve. I am afraid it has gone too far already, since the only easy way to solve this is that swedes move to these areas. But since criminality is pretty common there, no one wants to. As I said, it's not their culture or their genes, it's the failed integration that is the root of this problem.
