I have a secretary newlywed piece from the UK that's gorgeous. I was so surprised that it was plywood. It was made during WW2 when raw materials were in short supply. It was also a perfect candidate for paint. This dresser turned out so pretty! And I love the scented wax tip!

Thank you for clearing up this. I thought the waterfall is pretty and valuable. Makes sense that is has more sentimental value that actual value. I also shellac furniture I think might be valuable so if someone wants to "take it back" it will be easier.

I am going to try and blend today. I do small boards you put on your porch. You know that say welcome or home. I couldn't do furniture. But the process is the same just on a smaller scale. Physically I can't do furniture. But I am able to do something that makes me feel good.

Girl you put your beauty on any piece you want, old or not. You said it best, a piece is only worth what someone will pay for it. You'll never get a nay nay from this girl. Loved how you did this. You are a very talented artist. Thank you for the history lesson, that's information that is never really taught.

Liked the History-Lesson! The reason why I love this kind of furniture ( or pretty much such with curves or any kind of roundness) so much is - exactly how you described it - cause my grandparents had them. Here in Germany you`ll find a lot of those pieces, but nobody seems to want them.Good for me ;)) Those furnitures accompanied me since my early teenager-years...and since then they were painted. At first a high-gloss black (yeah - the 80s), but they`re getting more and more colorful. Thanks to you (and of course some other "multicoloured suspects") for all the inspiration and many great tutorials.

The waterfall sells very inexpensive here. Mo. But there are sets that are so perfectly keep intact & really quite beautiful. I love the design of waterfall, but it's not really popular here. I love the way furniture artists are transforming it into the boho style. Especially when it's a piece that has lost all of its charm by showing its age in chipped & broken veneer. It gives it a whole new life & the boho style just seems perfect for the design of waterfall to me. Great look for this piece for sure.

Thank you for sharing the history of the waterfall furniture, it made me appreciate them a little more. It’s funny you’d get push back on painting them, they aren’t very interesting pieces aside from the curved edge and the nostalgia. They don’t have the intricacies of a Victorian or Edwardian piece, they aren’t sleek like mid-century, even the 70’s were pumping out designs with interesting molding and reviving French provincial styles. You transformed it something beautiful and gave it a second life!

Love this piece. I'm a sucker for waterfall furniture. They are hard to find my area. The colors are amazing and the gel stain really changes the colors and gives it an aged look. Thanks for another great video and love that you used the new Dixie Belle brush !!
