We spent a week at the Watermill a few years ago, right after Covid restrictions were lifted. It is a wonderful place to spend a week, although our travel arrangements were miserable as the airlines were just coming out of Covid. I'd love to go back. I really admire your ability to paint loosely - i struggle with being too much of an impressionist/realist. Nice tutorial....

Thanks very much Barry. You'll know the convent venue on a Thursday. Well we changed it this year and swapped for this pretty village.

This video is about watercolor painting demonstration of a scene in Gragnola, a village in Northern Tuscany, Italy. The artist, Tim Wilmot, starts the video by introducing the location and goes over the materials he will be using. He then explains his reasons for choosing this particular scene, which include the sense of depth, the reflections on the water, and the texture of the old buildings. Next, he goes through the steps of painting the scene, starting with the drawing and then moving on to the wash stage, adding in the darker values and details. He provides commentary throughout the process, explaining his choices and techniques. Some of the key techniques used in the painting include washes, wet-in-wet, dry brush marks, and opaque paint for the foliage. The artist also discusses the importance of composition and how he made some changes to the scene to improve it. Overall, this is a detailed and informative video that would be of interest to anyone who wants to learn more about watercolor painting.

Great tutorial as ever! Just slightly concerned that bridge is going nowhere, because of the house. Noticed in the photo that the house is partially over the bridge.
