I really love the Tumuarta watercolor sketchbooks. I actually use the 25% cotton one and really enjoy painting in it.

Thank you so much. I have also ordered the following: Lightwish 100% cotton, 300gsm, cold pressed, and Elan 100% cotton 300 gsm sketchbooks. I ordered small sizes of these, so they weren’t a big expenditure for about $11.00 each. I can recommend Bee paper 100% cold pressed sketchbook; I’ve enjoyed using it. Sometimes the smaller size is very hard to find. These sketchbooks are perforated so some may not care for this. I personally do as they lay perfectly flat. It’s nice to know we have a bit of choice!

I have always used the tumuarta. When I first started painting a few months ago that just happens to be what I chose. I love it. The binding of the journal holds up really well too. I’m almost through my first journal and I was going to try a baohung, so I’m glad you feel they are comparable. I did find a baohung block but it’s much smaller.

I've got myself a Tumuarta square sketchbook, same spec, which I'm taking on a holiday to Italy in April. I'm new to sketching and watercolours, and I'm obsessed! I've been doing #the100dayprojects in a craft shop landscape sketchbook, but the paper is dire, so I'm expecting to find it easier to sketch etc on good paper. Thanks for the confirmation ive chosen well, and for tour excellent demonstration.

Yes! Be sure to check the size! I've been surprised twice when the journals I ordered online arrived and were much smaller than I expected. My fault, of course, for not checking. I used the Tumuarata and was pleased but I felt I was breaking the binding when I turned some of the pages.

This was helpful. I do not have a wc journal or fancy sketchbook type. A little too pricey for me and to be honest a little confusing. That 'Tumuarta' has settle it for me....I think....LOL. Thank you for sharing this with us.

280 gsm is very close to 140lb (300gsm) anything that is 250gsm or higher I would recommend.

Recently purchased for $15.99. Journal from India codex 100% cotton paper 120gsm 72 pages that’s very interesting to work on Its handmade from cotton rag. Has anyone else used this one

I really love them for their convenience of keeping everything together and being able to travel easily with them. The ones I get are usually .30 - .60 a page. Which is reasonable to me. Loose sheets can definitely be cheaper though, if you prefer that.
