    The Mission Gold is that company's highest grade watercolors. They have a much better light fastness. The Shinhan are great to experiment and play with but most colors will fade and discolor over time. The Mission Gold are much more expensive on the sites I've seen but the quality is worth the price.

    This video is so good! Your tests and organization helpfully demonstrates the differences between the paints. So not only are you helpful, but it kind of doubles as a satisfying motivational video so I can get organizing and swatching my own paints! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for your detailed comparison review. I am a Shin Han user and was wondering about mission gold. I do a lot of layering and lifting the color, so after I see your color chart, I will stick with Shin Han.

    You always do such a great job on these comparisons (actually on all of your videos!). Thank you for taking the time to do them (I have been a long time follower, just rarely comment). I have the peerless watercolors and the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors and love them both, but am looking at moving to something like this as I learn more about water colors. I need to really practice though before I start purchasing more water colors! ;-)

    Mission Gold wet-on-wet for the win... but sorry - nothing compares to a nice palette of 12-15 Daniel Smiths... you can have your set of 36 or 48.. just give me a 12 warm/cool combos plus some quin gold, convenience green and neutral tint - and I'm a happy camper!

    I'm very blessed to live in Settle WA USA the home of Daniel Smith. Have taken classes at Daniel Smith, wonderful. About once a year they given tours of their warehouses and factory. What a treat. John Conley, owner, also gives demos about their pigments,the different kinds of paints. Such as Primatic, Irredecients, plus the regular paints. All of their colors will last over 100 years. Are color fast for at least 100 years.

    Fabulous video, especially the swatches and recording the information. I recently bought two of the 33 well Majello palettes to create a palette of my new Turner Artist Concentrated Watercolor Paints. I would love it if you would add that company to your list of videos reviews to do. It's supposed to be a higher end quality paint that in not as expensive at the top line companies and they have a very large number of paints to choose from....hence my eternal need to buy "just a few extra colors...." I'm glad to have found your channel and will explore the remainder of your videos.

    I have Shinhan and Cotman and there is no comparison in my opinion. Shinhan is vibrant, smooth, creamy and rewet very easily. I think they are far superior to Cotman, not even close!

    Thank you for this review. Love bith brands from Korea. But for now, please consider making a comparison between Mission Gold and Shinhan PWC Artist Grade. They are more matching. Shinhan SWC is only second to PWC when it comes to quality.

  • @lauralange7876

    @lauralange7876

    Is there really any difference between PWC and SWC? Because I actually asked if there is a difference between PWC and SWC and I've been told by Shinhan that SWC is for the paints being sold in Korea and the PWC is for the international market.

  • @AllanJayQuesada

    @@lauralange7876 yes, i hear that info alot as well. i am actually confused. Because in their website, it says that the pwc has the highest lightfastness, while the professional only has high lightfastness. Is the professional same with swc?

  • @labaccident2010

    Allan Jay Quesada The SWC line is not the same as the “professional” line. From everything I’ve looked up, SWC and PWC seem to be exactly the same. The line called professional is entirely different.

  • @AllanJayQuesada

    @@labaccident2010 yes, the pwc and pro are very different. Imnactually confused between pwc and swc because their website says pwc has the highest light fastblness while the swc only has high. I dont know if they just have some issues with regards to the information stated, but from the packaging of both pwc and swc, they avtually arr the same except for the letters s and p. 😊 i think pwc and swc use the same brochure info (based on reviews ive watched), only that pwc has more colors. 😊

  • @labaccident2010

    @labaccident2010

    Allan Jay Quesada my Swc set says “not for export outside Korea” on the side. As far as I can tell, it’s probably just a label change or they renamed the swc to pwc, since Jackson’s art is basically selling the pwc and getting rid of their swc paints and the shinhan website doesn’t have swc on there anymore, just pwc.

    I have a question, is it normal for watercolors to "crack" when they dry up in their palet? Or is that only with cheaper/ old paint?

  • @NicolesCards

    @NicolesCards

    Kiddy Wolf they can crack a bit or have a bit of bubbles. Im not sure how much the student grade/artist grade effects the cracking though.

    Scraps & Stamps oh, ok. So the higher the quality of the paint the smoother the paint would be? Or is that for certain brands? Just wanted to know since im using Pro Art water colors and they might be more than just a little old but still work alright

  • @aimeelindell

    @aimeelindell

    6 жыл бұрын

    Kiddy Wolf If I have understood this from questions I’ve asked, I think it’s more about the amount of binding in the pigment. So artist grade colors can crack just like student grade if they’ve been formulated to have less binding agents for flow. It isn’t necessarily a mark of cheap paint, but that said, student and craft grade paints tend to crack far more often. I think they crack because of fillers instead of binding formulations.
