Interesting! Thank you for sharing! 💚
Thank you so much for this! Don’t know if I’m up for trying it, but I really enjoyed watching and it’s great to know that it isn’t at all difficult. 😊

Yes, it is!
I love Paige's work! So if you do come to Saskatoon, any chance of a workshop? Even for an afternoon? Loved seeing the technique. Thanks for sharing Paige!

I am in Saskatoon. No plans for a workshop right now obviously but do keep in touch. Information about upcoming events will be on my website at paigemortensen.ca.
Fun to watch. Found a batch of beeswax in my cleaning today, soooo, perhaps I will try this some time soon

Sounds like things are coming together for you to test it out!
I'm interested in learning more about the rubber stamp/block you mentioned, not in the materials list. Specifically which type, rubber or linoleum.. what holds up to the heat of the wax? Did you make your own block by adhering the carved block to a piece of wood? Do you have any demo videos of using this? Thanks! I suppose this is an alternative to the expensive Tjap stamps made of copper?
I can understand your explanation well. Thank you.

I'm glad it was clear for you.
I like it..lovely 👍
It was different but pretty. I wouldn't want to try it myself but looks like fun 😊😎 FL 🌴. Thanks for sharing. One thing do you think this would be a good way of doing rocks instead of using a knife?
@paigemortensenart

I have heard of people using wax as a resist on wood so maybe it would work on rocks too. It is always fun to experiment and find out.
Nice lesson. I Like your leaf. It is alive. I do not know what the ironing adds to it?
@MommyMagic106

You are removing the wax from the paper by ironing it.
Thank you for this! Is the 20% discount code still available for the class? Also, can you use soy wax for this? I know there are toxic concerns with heating paraffin (oil based).
If you both do a workshop; let me know!
Where do you buy the ginwashi paper, I am having a hard time finding it?
Angela, video quality aside (I NEVER diss a gift!), I was SO thrilled to learn something absolutely new today! WOWEE! This looks like lots of fun! I'll have to start saving Amazon packing paper. Wonderful to meet Paige, learn more about her unique art. You're so kind to share the different aspects of art to us. This batik method was SO cool! THANK YOU MISS ANGELA FOR ALWAYS THINKING OF US!

Cool! Reminds me of Ukrainian Easter egg dyeing. This looks a lot less tedious though and rather fun. I see a roaring bear charging out of a forest in Angela's painting. 😁

It is a lot like Ukrainian Easter egg painting, but with more freedom and surface to work on.
Can watercolour paper be used?
Did you say which side is up? Smooth side or bumpy side?
@paigemortensenart
4 жыл бұрын
I use the smooth side of the Ginwashi paper up.
Do you have to use this kind of paper? Can you use watercolor paper?
@paigemortensenart
4 жыл бұрын
I have tried other papers and Ginwashi works the best however you can try it on something else. Watercolour paper is quite thick so you will need to make sure the wax penetrates it. The look is different with different types of paper.
Can you use any other kind of paper if you don't have ginwashi?

If you go to the description you will find a link to the instruction sheet and it shows results with other papers.

In addition, I recently tried a coffee filter and it worked quite well!
I couldn't hear what kind of paper was used to cover painting while ironing?

You can yse a baby booger sucker for adding water one drop at atime. I got it at the dollar store
Thanks for providing this interesting process, however the actual painting was so blurry, almost unable to watch. Maybe my laptop? Thanks anyway. Love all your videos, Angela.
