Water System Ideas! Pumping Spring Dry with Smart Bot 2800 pump
Today we will look at my spring and I’ll show you my ideas on setting up a water system. Give me your thoughts! We will be using the smart bot 2800 pump and pumping our spring dry to see how fast it refills itself!
I hope to find concrete drain pipes and dig out the spring and line it with concrete pipe.

My Dad always kept a Fiest around for squirrel, he hunted the hills there in northeastern Tenn. Looking forward to future videos, maybe take us back to church again. Pastor Doug
Enjoyed the video Jared. I think you have. great idea. You can use that water to water the animals, garden or even let the children have a sprinkler to play in. Yall take care and God bless.
That's a Great source of water for your garden and livestock.
Looks like Mister Finley has a fine little squirrel dog! A squirrel dog needs to be just as fast and energetic as the squirrels and that one IS. :)
Thanks Jared. Spring water is a very smart move. I have lived in three different homes with spring water. My grandfather once told me that a spring with the flow of a match stick will keep a family of four. God Bess and stay safe.
Can't beat free
Jared sure knows how to get the most bang for his buck, no matter what the project. How about some inside cooking videos?
Looks like that’ll work nice. Please let us see the finished product. Thanks for sharing!
Very interesting. I have never saw the inside of a water hole. This should work out really good for you. Shorty is so cute! Ya'll have a great week! God bless!
Well I think that's a great idea can't wait to see what comes next🙂👍🏼
Looks great. Water is always a chore.
Its sure is nice having a good spring near by.
Good morning…thought of y’all lately when I realized our TN property is right close to Goforth road. Right near Morrison TN. Waiting upon The Lord to get us there. God bless y’all.

That’s cool! I think some goforth ancestors were in part of Tennessee but don’t know much on it
I had just finished posting when you mentioned Red Poppy Ranch great people there
Howdy Jared- I think you have a good idea on your water. Some years ago I dug out a spring on our place that had a wood barrel down in it. My Daddy and Uncle had dug it out and put the barrel in 70 years prior to me digging it out again. It filled back up and ran over during the hottest and driest part of the summer. That pump you got really does the job. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all
And on a side note, shorty seems like a spaz lol. God bless.

Haha he’s wild
I have a friend who has a slow well on his farm, He put a pump in the well and pumps the water into a 275 gallon plastid tote ( the kind with the metal cage around it) . He feeds another pump with the tote that feeds his barn etc. The tote serves as water storage so he has plenty on hand when he needs it. He has the tote in a little house kind of like your new root cellar building. That protects the plastic from the sun ( UV ) .
Thank Jared. I find this interesting and you are quite resourceful. Sure do enjoy your videos. I grew up and lived in rural Missouri. Then retired and live near St. Louis. So your videos give me a little bit of rural life to see from my easy chair! You have such a nice place and love watching your projects. Thank you for the great videos.
I would definately dig down at least 6 foot or more. Maybe rent a backhoe for a half day and get that hole deep and prolly 3 foot wide. You have the makings of a fine water source.
I love that little pump! That would probably work well in my cellar after a rain???

Yes for sure
Wow Jarod, this vlog was fascinating 👏
I think that’s gonna work out great. God bless
I remember having spring water when I was a little girl living with mom and dad. It was complete with the well box and a bucket and dipper. When it got to a certain height it drained thru a ditch that went into a creek. It didn’t have a pump, you had to draw the water up in the bucket. That set up you showed would be idea for your cattle. Love the new dog! I know you hunt squirrels, Turkey, and deer but I was wondering if you hunt quail? They are my favorite out of all of them.
What a great resource to have a spring on your property! I would love to have one. We think we’ll have a well drilled soon, just for backup, with a windmill and hand pump attached.
Thanks for continuing to post on the homestead always look forward to seeing what yall got going. Once you get that hole dug out you'd have yourself a nice water source. Keep em coming Jared!
Looks like you are on the right trail for using the ground water. If it's coming out cold enough maybe you could make up a cooler for inside the cellar where you could use copper tubing to hang on the three walls and having the water circulate through it to cool the inside cellar air to help cool the cellar like they use to use the floor trough with the running water to cool the milk cans and other beverages in the cellar. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Thank you for sharing. This is really cool.
Always enjoy your videos
Thanks!
4'x4'x4' will be about 475 gals. we dug out our spring back in the 50's about 8' deep and 4'x6' built cistern of concert. supplied all our water needs for house and 1000 chickens. ran wire and installed pump about 50' from spring and then pumped over 1/4 up hill. a;; digging was with pick and shovel. even thing about that today and they call for the men in white suits.
Finally I was first to like a video an good one it is
👍💧
💯😁👍
Hey Jared, are you raising that cow to raise as beef or keeping it around for another purpose?
Jared does that spring flow throughout the growing season or does it go dry before the season is over? I put a check valiue on my line with a small hole drilled in the line to allow it to drain on the pump side of the check valve(4 foot section). Will winter temps mean you need to bury the line or will you just go into winter with a dry pipe? Great idea to tap into the high water table!
Jared reckon a small generator would run that ?
