Water Pump Replacement Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1 CityBug Yaris 1kr-fe

Фильм және анимация

After the water pump became noisy, eventually the belt failed, it was time to replace the water pump.
in this video I show how to replace the pump it is a really good DIY job including changing the drive belt and antifreeze.
Tools required include a ratchet set with 10,12,13 and 14 mm sockets, A flat bladed screwdriver, crosshead screwdriver, A 17mm bar for wheel nuts, and a jack.

So very good like all your videos 👍 I bought an aygo, knowing theyre pretty easy to fix by oneself. Just... nice to know, i thaught. Then i found your channel, and now i changed three weel bearings, understood that the ignition coils was the problem (and so ridiculously easy to replace!) and soon my water pump is new as well 😊 well done for someone just filling up oil and change tyres before! And so much money i saved 😱 Thanks mate 😎👍

@@aaanton11 I successfully changed it myself today and all is well. Thanks for the encouragement. The only difference was on work preparation. It is actually much easier and faster when one removes the front bumper than getting it under the wheel. That how I approached it.....I learned the trick from another fellow....

What a helpful video.Got my 60 plate 107 3 weeks ago and i could hear some noise coming from the engine bay but wasnt sure where the noise was coming from exactly.Today i took the front bumper off to get to the auxillary belt as i was gonna take it off to check what was sounding rough.I noticed a puddle under the car and this confirmed that the water pump was the faulty part.I got the new pump and belt and getting it fixed first thing in the morning.Brilliant step by step video.I feel i could do this myself but cars already booked in at the garage now.

The "pesky plastic" had years of service to parts that otherwise become completely exposed! Every single car, where some "clever" mind decided to remove what the factory put in there. As dire consequences easily seen over the years... Be wise and always keep the protections in place! There's good reasons why factories, that are always counting pennies, decide to spend money on those... Just some food for taught! ;-)

Nice job, the only thing that crossed mind was length of the new bolts. I know they were longer to accommodate the deeper casting but I think I would have checked that their projection amounted to the same as the original bolts in case they bottomed out in the tapped holes ( you might have already done that off camera). Not sure if the water pump was genuine Toyota but been caught out so many times with patent parts.

That's completely normal, it's a 3 cylinder so that's why it makes such movements, if your engine would make movements the same as when you start it at 26:55 everytime then that would mean your engine's supports are going to die or are already dead

I have a question, I have a peugeot 107 I have been getting a slight squeel when taking off in 1st gear and changing to 2nd, and hill starts when I have to give it more revs. I changed the alternator belt and it seemed to squeel less at first but now it's getting worse again. This only seems to happen if I drive it hard. Could it be the clutch bearing? This doesn't happen in all gears. Thanks for your help

Anyone know if you can get replacement AC pulleys? I had a spare water pump so fitted, as per this great video (the Aygo has a few different square wheel liner clips that are bloody fiddly to remove) but I still have an odd noise and on further inspection the noise appears to be coming from the AC pulley area. So far I can only find replacement AC pumps which cost £300 odd and I'd also need to get the AC gas removed and refilled. Anyone pulled the AC pulley off and fit a new bearing or is that not possible? Seems you can on some makes but I've not found details for C1/107/Aygo. Cheers 🍻

Then started the engine after putting everything back together and discovered I'd not tightened the belt enough so had to struggle getting the adjuster bolts undone from the bonnet 🤬. Think it's been a success overall. Will see when I take it for a ride tomorrow. 🤞🏻😆

When the cars were easy to work on, easy to maintain, etc. The water pumps were always connected to the accessory belt, usually called "fan belt" in those days... for good reason. The same owner who neglect the maintenance to a point where the belt will break. Will have a lot less to cry about, in this case... something to think about. ;-)
