Animation was created on the basis of Chinese legend"水鬼" When we were looking for the English name of 水鬼. My friend suggested that we could be named Water Kelpie with our animation. We used this name because the oriental "水鬼" will tempt human to stretches of water, take their lives. We search Wikipedia about Water Kelpie. We get some information with Kelpie. It has been plain as described as appearing as a horse, but is able to adopt human form...... Kittys.equii_clips Actually a kelpie is a Shape-shifting Water spirit. Its usally described as appearing as a horse but can take a human form. 😀

I believe they were either close friends or siblings. I don’t think he would want to hurt the girl, but if he replaced his soul and the unborn child’s soul he could still be with the female for the duration of their lives but no harm since the child hasn’t fully developed. I do but I also don’t think the girl would mind him swapping souls with her child, she did go to the sea constantly (in search of him?)

What a sad animation. Great take on a water kelpie.

Love the video and your adaptation of another cultures myth it’s refreshing really. I love the horse kelpie but this animation was very touching and unique. ☺️

the one thing that is truly annoying is the amount of comments from people saying "this isn't a kelpie". just shut up about what it may be or not be. this is an amazing piece of animation either way and we don't need you people to ruin it with your criticism

Myths and legends were once real

Just because a horse was the most successful human lure does not mean it was a Kelpie's only form. I think we can at least agree they were shape-shifters. A human form to lure humans makes sense.

(I apologise; I can't type Chinese on my keyboard) I have often thought there were similarities between the tragedy of creatures like that, be they kelpie, shui gui, kappa or something else. Either way, it is lovely to see old tales told anew.

You have more information in description! Also, myths and legends and art are interpretive, you can inform yourself of origin but you can make your own art and undrestanding of myth and art. Kelpies are shapeshifters and usually are in shape of horse but they can also shapeshift into human, all that with one goal- to take their victims' souls.

It’s a great animation but what kind of kelpie is this? I know of the water horse of Scotland... is this the same? Or is there a different water spirit known as a kelpie tell me if there is

Man uh imma just throw thos out here for EVERYONE. Yes. The guy in the vids not a Scottish kelpie. But its still a kelpie. Its a shapeshifter who took the form of a human, not a horse. Please dont badger the animator on this. This new take on the kelpie is unique and fun. I just went and responded to everyone of those comments that the animator graciously responded to so he/she didnt have to. Its sad how many comments like that showrd up. Allan Ribergaard it is. A kelpie is just a malign water spirirt that tricks its victims into the water. The Scottish myth just depicts it was a horse, but it can shapeshift.

You might want learn more about kelpies, yourself. Kelpies are actually shape-shifting water spirits. While they’re often portrayed as a horse, they can also take the form of a human. So yeah, this animation is totally plausible for a kelpie. ;)
