    If the West coast of the U.S. does not take Seawater Desalinization seriously, and act NOW, millions are screwed and without water.

    I agree the problem/(CONFLICT) is/are politicians are in bed with big business to NOT DO NOTHING AT ALL and yes I do not like that all. its all about controlling the masses, the $$ money $$, and doing NOTHING AT ALL FOR THE '' WE THE PEOPLE '' U.S.A.they also have their agenda of depopulation.

    mwngw: Don't worry. Nestle has a patent on all fresh water in the USA and they assure us that for as little as $2.00 per liter we will have as much water as we can afford. Remember, The USA is one of only two nations that doesn't use the metric system, the other being a third world African nation. We reject them damn commie measurements cause this is 'merica' and we don't do no pussy metric. That is also our view of having fresh water. It is for pussies and we don't do pussy.

    yep,through condensation.But this is only during the day.It can be done in places where there is enough sun and heat.

    There is a lot of Water in combusted Natural Gas. When natural gas is consumed efficiently and the technology of Condensing Flue Gas Heat Recovery is applied, not only does this give (profit) reduced natural gas bills to the building or industry owners, it also reduces CO2 emissions. When the heat energy is recovered from the exhaust gases, what is left is COOL exhaust and clean, distilled Water.

    At our present rate of consumption we are going to have to purify around twenty five billion gallons of water per day just to meet the needs of California. That is a lot of water.

    Why not offer a billion dollar prize to anyone who can find a method of sea water desalination that is as cost effective as using the watershed?

    Why cant the brine be used to make sea salt instead dumping it back in the ocean running the risk to kill even more marine life than just from the intake?

  • @leerman22

    @leerman22

    It's too expensive, and the extra salt won't kill sea life if they mix enough seawater with the brine before reintroducing it.

    This is too expensive and energy extensive, not a viable solution for California. Direct potable reuse is the way to go.

    This isn't as good as it sounds. Desalinization plants are built by multinational companies who sell overpriced water to people in developing countries who can't afford it. They are forced to either drink other contaminated water or go into unpayable debt. The biggest polluters now have a vested financial interest in polluting local water supplies.
