Water Culture Orchid Fertilizer Routine

Water Culture Orchid Care Tips For Fertilizing with Nitrogen
In todays video I share Fertilizing Care Tips for Beginners Growing by the method of Water Culture. I am Fertilizing similar to the way I Fertilizer my Planted Orchids. I warn about using Tap Water because I choose to collect Rain Water off my roof. Tap Water is full of salts and Chlorine and Calcium. I give Care Tips that using certain Fertilizers with Tap Water won't be mixed well together. Synthetic Fertilizers can be very strong and could burn your Orchid Roots if not done correctly. Without Substrate or Orchid Potting Media; it's best to Fertilize more Frequently rather than increase the dosage.
Fertilizers I am using:
Epsom Salt or Magnesium Sulfate because it builds strong cell walls for Phalaenopsis Leaves. Magnesium is a nutrient that won't be allocated from leaf to leaf.
Nitrogen is the main Nutrient that you will need Growing Orchids in Water. Nitrogen is the most deprived nutrient from Growing in Pure Distilled or RO Water.
I give Care Tips for which Phalaenopsis Orchids to Fertilized. New Root Tips will be burned from using Tap Water and Fertilizers. I show examples of what Orchids to Fertilize and which is not.
A Newly Converted Phalaenopsis Orchid to Water Culture should not immediately be Fertilized, wait until the Phalaenopsis is acclimated and shows new growth. Meanwhile; make sure the Water is clean and fresh and you may Fertilize with Seaweed Kelp as a Foliar Feed Spray. That's how I get New Root Production from my phalaenopsis Orchid. You may also use a Organic Fertilizer like Activated Charcoal.
The Main Key Point in Growing Orchids in Water is Stability and not Stress.
When Fertilizing your Water Culture Orchids you will need a large container.
I use one gallon Warm Rain Water and mix in a Pinch or 1/8 tablespoon of Better Gro Orchid Plus 20-14-13. Make sure that it's well blended before adding the next Fertilizer. When adding the Magnesium Fertilizer, use a half tablespoon. Mix it by shaking or stirring the Water. Avoid OTD's by Fertilizing your healthiest orchids first. After Five minutes, Pour in your Fertilized Water and add your first set of Orchids. Let the Orchids soak for ten minutes and then rinse off the entire plant with warm Tap Water. After placing back into pure Rain Water or RO Water. Place under a high blowing fan to dry up excess Water Between the Leaves. Last Care Tip is Not to Water in cold Water and Never sit your Orchids in Fertilized Water for long periods of time.
