    This video could have been GOATed and the GO-TO for building an every-wipe hemp farm for the casual player. Instead it leaves you with more questions than answers and skips over the most important steps. "Build this do this and dont do what I've done here stacking 3 sprinklers." If you actually showed how to do it right instead, that would have been awesome.

    Built the boot. prioritize the bottom 4 planters, and use the ones next to the door to do your breeding, then when you're planting/cloning full planters you can use the uppers, otherwise you can't place em right or beat them out of the planter. the top floor is incredibly iffy on whether or not it'll plant all (even using shift). light and sprinkler usage is very efficient though. also, if you're in a river, don't bother with the timing circuit, just pump water all the time

My second problem is the reachability crops are very hard to clone or to reach without having crops in the first or second row.

  • @woodcocker

    More water is produced due to the electrical circuit, which increases the efficiency of irrigation. Each sprinkler consumes only 6ml of water per tick. Plus, a couple of months ago, the logic for distributing water among the planter changed, now the water is divided evenly, regardless of their quantity (previously, everything was broken there)

    does anyone have any base design tutorial with farm like this ?

  • @erichiguera
    @erichiguera20 күн бұрын

    to summarize this video: (1) small farming bases that only require t1 workbenches can be now placed anywhere on the map. he says to build a small farming base next to your main base so you never lack cloth. and he shows his favorite small base design "the boot." (2) this is because small batteries and small water catchers have been buffed a lot. all you need to do is put out small water catchers, and wait for rain. it rains in game about "a couple dozen times in a monthly wipe." and each time it rains, each small water catcher, can catch 150,000 ml of water per hour. that is a crazy amount. summary over but i do have two thoughts on this: first: 1 hour of rain is 150,000 ml per small water catcher. and one water barrel is 20,000 ml. so one hour of rain can fill up 7.5 water barrels per water catcher. so you can do one water catcher on roof connects to >>>> "fluid switch and pump" connects to input of water barrel #1 connects to output of water barrel #1 connects to input of water barrel #2 connects to output of water barrel #2 connects to input of water barrel #3, etc for however many water barrels you have. in a 2x2 i put fit 9 water barrels in a ring connected to the water catcher and fluid switch and pump. will be full of 180,000 ml of water after it rains. ------------- i also did water catcher to fluid splitter to 3 more fluid splitters to fluid input of 9 water catchers this also seemed to work and cost 0 electricity, because gravity did all the work. all this work when you could have infinite water by building next to freshwater :/. to put 8750 ml water in 12 water catchers, it takes 105,000 ml of water. you only have 45,000 ml of water left which is to rehydrate your planters as they run dry. so one hours of rain per 24 hours irl gives you enough for like 1-3 harvests with 12 planters. you would need 2 small water catchers and 18 water barrels to get twice as much rainwater 300,000 ml to make this work. see next paragraph. that's a 4x2 just on water barrels :/ second: waiting for rain while you build far from freshwater sucks. it might rain right after i get my water catcher and water barrels set up. or it might not rain until 24 hours from now. if i don't want to wait, i have to carry water to my base in water jugs from a freshwater source to get enough water for the first day of farming. but you would need to (1) go to bandit camp to buy water jugs for 5 scrap each (2) go to freshwater to fill up the water jugs (3) walk to your base from from water source. if you are carrying 18 water jugs (90 scrap and you die, you lost 90 scrap and a lot of time and water and you have to do it again. or you could just wait for rain which feels like a waste of time to me tbh. :/

    I just tried it and 3 heaters do the job. 2 placed on the walls where the TC is, facing each other as close to the middle triangle as possible and one more i added above the door by adding a small wall (not half wall, the small one) basically also where the TC is, facing towards the middle triangle. It's a little bit more annoying to get up now, but temperature wise it works. But what i dont understand is how even 5 small water catchers could ever gather enough water for this setup? I set the weather on my server to heavy rain and even then the barrel is almost always empty... and is you want your first Clones you will have some with a W, which makes it even worse. Edit: Ok, so apparently they only catch 3-8 ml/min in the snow...

    A) Do not build in desert B) You can also build water catchers on cliff (they wont despawn if in tc range) and the water will get collected down in barrel (i recomend placing landmines near to blow up anyone smart enogh to use sword on them) C) If you build in area with very low traffic, you can use Chainlink Fence instead of normal walls and roof and you get free rainwater from time to time and 100% sun (will not grow at night). But this also makes it easy for other players to steal stuff. But if you hide shotgun traps and some players jumps in to steal = free loot XD
