I have this problem every spring. I have a 14 x 36 in-ground salt water pool in Michigan. I take a 3" Honda trash pump and reduce it dwn to 1" hot tub hose. It runs for about 1 hr. I am not a mathmatician, but it seems like thousands of gallons of water. I've been doing this for 13 years. I am so frustrated with it. I've called over 15 pool experts and no one wants to touch it. I had (1) person that was willing but I hated his solution to the problem. No one want to do service. They just want to slam a new liner in...I'm going to Harbor Freight tomorrow and I going to rig some thing like in this video. Pulling the liner/the liner popping off, my knuckles have seen better days.....#wateralwayswins

Good luck...i just left the hose behind the liner, because like yours, mine is a problem constantly...easier to just hook up the pump now when i start feeling water behind the liner...

The pool installer should have hauled out all the expansive soils IE loam, clay, and any organic materials.Replace those materials with Sandy gravel which will disperse any groundwater of runoff from rainwater that causes the liner to float. The additional cost of trucking out, and hauling back in the Sandy gravel is well worth it.

My neighbour landscaped their backyard. They removed all of their grass and put in artificial turf. That following winter my liner lifted because of excessive drainage into my yard. No grass to absorb the rain. For the past three years I’ve fought with ugly wrinkles in the pool liner. I suspect that the thin concrete floor has cracked allowing the water to get underneath the liner. My only recourse will be to remove the liner to repair the floor.

We are in the process of getting a new inground pool installed. We have been filling the pool up and somehow our hose was moved, assuming an animal, and the water hose had the water going behind the liner due to the hose being pulled out right next to the wall. So pool guys came out and pumped out some water but there is still some in the deep end. We are in Alabama. They told us ground water got into someone's last week where they just replaced the liner and the liner busted open. Praying our issue doesn't get worse. THanks for some tips on the video.

Same boat here too! 2nd year with the pool. First year with water behind the liner. I accidentally let winter cleanup pump (to pump off the winter tarp) run too long, shoulda set the doggone timer! Instead of draining the 6” of water, it drained 3’ of my pool. Could that have caused the separation? The liner seems to have wrinkles that show it is pulled towards the deep end. Does the water level in your pool drop when you pump out behind the liner? How often do you find yourself doing this? I read that you have left the hose in place to pump more often.

I have a similar problem and checked out dozens of videos to learn more. One glaring thing I realized that so many liner problems are because of the liner manufacturer!! I have a Kafco liner with exactly the same liner design as seen in many of the videos. I know that groundwater causes many of the floating liner problems, but is it a coincidence that the majority of "problem" pool liner videos all seem to have these KAFCO liners??

This is a very common thing in my area most pools in my area have well points around the pool where you can just hook a pump up directly to them and evacuate the water away so the liner will sit back down have you ever checked for well points around your pool?

The top of the liner has a ridge that slides back in,if it won't stretch back you can put hot water on it to make it more workable...good luck...
