Curtis, I'm an older woman with significant hair loss who has worn hair systems for several years. Much of the information and tips you discuss in your videos also, I find, also apply to women's system; in fact, I find your videos to be more helpful than the sites devoted to women's hair replacement. Not sure if other women watch your videos, but thought you might find this interesting. You're a great educator and your videos. are both entertaining and extremely informative.

@HairExperience Curtis, I can't thank you enough for giving me the courage to go on this journey. I was so afraid in the beginning but your guidance really helped and honestly changed my life. With that being said, due to the pandemic, I've tried coming up for solutions for various issues we face with wearing a hair system. One of the biggest ones is when the unit starts to wear and literally tear what can we do. I came up with a technique of sorts to help take care of that and basically extend the life of the unit when dealing with holes and tears. I would love to go over that with you sometime and possibly make a video on it since i know tons of people would benefit from it. Keep in touch!

Hi Curtis, happy holidays to you and your family. I learn a lot from your YT videos. I am wearing a thin skin unit and I find a white bond that works very well on me. It’s called “Perma Rite extreme XL 18”. I live in NYC area and I am able to get 3 to 4 weeks hold with no touch up at all. This is recommended by my hair stylist. In the past I use Ghost bond or Walker ultra that hold for 1.5 to 2 weeks then I need a touch up.

Another quick question for you, do you ever have the issue when redoing a hairline, that in certain places, the very front edge of the hairline wants to fold in on itself? I’d say about the first millimetre or two, so very small, but enough to be noticeable and create lift while being very difficult to get your fingers under. It’s definitely clean with no tacky feeling, so it’s not sticking to itself with adhesive, but it just seems to be the natural resting position of the front of this hairline in one side of my hairline. I’m thinking maybe I should just cut it out, but I don’t want to ruin the thinned out front portion of my hair. I can’t get it to stay flat long enough to continue :/

  • @HairExperience

Well maybe here’s a video idea for you. I know you’ve kind of touched base on this a little bit, but I could sure use a lot more detail and visual cues of the full, in-depth procedure of installation starting from a stock piece. This might be a long one so totally appreciate it if you decide to deal with this but no pressure lol. I’m at my wit’s end with struggling how to install it perfectly. I’m new, I have no help, so it’s DIY-solo style, and installing is incredibly difficult. Cutting my stock hair to the shape of my own template doesn’t feel like it’s 100% perfect to my outline. It’s pretty close, but I feel like it’s so hard to get it perfectly sized. When I install, the hair is constantly flopping in my eyes so I can’t even see what I’m doing, all the while the hair is also flopping over the sides of the base so I can’t see where the poly-base meets my bio hair to make it perfectly flush… all the while I’m trying to not make the base or the hair stick to any tape/glue during this “alignment” phase. It’s hard when it’s so thick and curly and can’t be parted out of the way to see what I’m soing. And then when all is said and done? It overlaps a little bit. Flappity-flap-flap, it’s sticking out the back (or the sides). I’ll try to use a sharp exacto knife or thin scissors while it’s now glued onto my head, but I feel like it just leaves a rough edge that’s still noticeable by touch when sliding my hand through the sides of my hair, or even still visible a little when I try to have a somewhat disconnected fade. Can I even have a visible part between bio hair and the hair system, or should it always be blended for this reason? And then the front hairline… I never even really know where or how the front hairline is going to sit since the back “seems” easier to start the installation with, so I always seem to glue further down the hairline than needed because under-gluing seems tougher to correct. I always end up with my hair sticking to my forehead. Attempts to then remove the excess glue and stuck-hair always seems to lift the hairline back up, wrinkling the perfectly flat hairline, since I seem to have to use alcohol very precisely to aid in this process. I’m using a 0.03mm thin skin but Im at the point where I’m considering just shaving off all my bio hair as I try to make this look like I’m not wearing a hair system. It might be cool to see you do another, reeeaaallly in-depth and long video of a brand new stock system transitioning to a fresh install, especially if your technique has changed in the last 2-3 years. Even if to show that it hasn’t. Seeing all the steps from start to finish with any tips you can throw out, all in one video, I think would really help. Thanks, and happy new year!

  • @HairExperience

Been following for some time. Great videos🍼Havent been able to pull the trigger for many reasons,…work, family, time, etc etc. a couple thoughts and concerns,: Would u ever consider pop-up events in other cities, like LA? Where u could possibly help a few lucky winners hands-on, in 1 day. Lol. Also, regarding cut-ins. Lately im always observant of other guys’ hair. When it looks too perfect, i zoom closer, and notice its a piece..sometimes a transplant etc. do u think that , possibly Not doing a cut in, could make it look more natural?. In other words, having a bit of length, like the “i havent been to the barber in 2 months” look…maybe using a headband or pomping it up with a bit a gel, and letting the hair lay off to one side un-evenly natural. (Not sure of that makes sense).

Hey Tomas, great Idea. I wish I could travel or had the time. I do all the shipping, quality control, customer service etc. Every day. So unfortunately no time for me Not doing a cut in making it more natural ? No way. But I will say when the hair is grown out a little. Not this perfect cut, things do have a more natural appearance, but my opinion not in a good way. Ive grown my hair out many times. And you can let it ride for a while without a haircut.

@@HairExperience thanks for responding. 1 last question. I had a transplant about 14 yrs ago. I hav a scar on the back of my head. For years, had an ok head of hair. Now, im sorta back to square 1. Very thin on top. I kept my hairline tho, but its thin. Curious if its possible to keep my hairline with my own hair, and still use a piece that would start at about 2 centimeters behing my hairline. Thus, i would have a natural looking frontal hairline, plus full head of hair with the piece. Is this possible?

If you live in LA, you can still buy his hair systems, just go to hair replacement salon the first time. I used to live in California, I would buy his system .I would go to Actual Image " in Burbank for the services. Having roommates made it a pain to do myself. So I went to a salon

I used to have to do maintenance every two weeks and now, with my newer unit being three months in, I need to change almost weekly. Not sure if this unit is more sensitive and is wearing more, but it has me concerned. It’s very frustrating feeling like I need to do maintenance weekly

Hey Fred. I hopefully can assist on this. And ive heard of it many times. What I see is that the new unit is crystal clean, spotless. As time goes on, the unit base gets dirty. (Not saying your dirty lol), just the base is not as clean as it was when it was new. And this happens because of it. Thats the issue !!!

Hi! Curtis . If I cut into the front hairline and hairs to give it some shape and appearance does that mean that the front hairline can loose some hairs and gradually ruin the look at the front. Are the hairs individually seperated or are they one hair knitted through areas of the poly Thanks Aiden

  • @HairExperience

Hey Aiden. Cutting of the hairline is a big no no with my products. But as they fail the hair will begin to fall out. So some cutting will be necessary. Just dont cut into the shape of it. And it will not cause early failure. Your just cutting away the extra material anyways

I think it woudl be interesting if you started venturing into the social experiment side of things. Maybe like approach women on the street and ask them if dating a man with a system would be a problem, or like make a dating profile with a man wearing a system. And record the interactions

Maybe a few good videos on what to say when approaching a salon to do cut ins? And also a narrated video of a cut in that can be shown to people at a salon that have never done a cut in before. I realize its not rocket science - but many hair stylists get pretty spooked at the idea of cutting a system because they have zero idea. If we could send them the link to the cut in video - they may be more comfortable doing it?

@@HairExperience thanks 🙏 Also the hair used for the system is it remy hair ? Looking at the same system you wear !!! Just I’ve had systems that after a couple of washes start to tangle and Mat as they are obviously not cuticle correct! Cheers 🙂

  • @HairExperience

@@ollyman36 We do not have tangle issues. With the right products used !!!! With the wrong products used anyones hair will tangle Remy: By definition, means cuticle in the same direction. So when you Vloop construct or knot construct a unit this is physically impossible. Remy could only be used in an injected unit with the hair being basically folded and making 2.

After trialing a hair system for about a week and a half. I don't think I'll ever wear one again. It feels unnatural on your head and that you're not being authentic or honest. It feels like you're letting trivial things dominate your life. To feel the water on your head. Etc. Honestly it's sad that men feel they have to do this.. Take it off and be free my fellow gentlemen. Be you. Honestly there's just something spooky about it.. Just find a girl who loves you for you. And be happy. Your soul will thank you

The whole reason I cannot wear a hair system anymore is because I sweat so much and every glue I've tried just won't stick :( I was having to restick my hairline every single day befause it came unstuck and it knocked my confidence in wearing a system.
