The older I get, the more I realise this movie has more realism than any other childhood films I've seen. Politics, marriage problems, government lawsuits, depression in the work environment, accidental death, crime, suicide and genocide! *And I saw this when I was 5?!*

The plane scene is incredible because it actually implies Helen was at some point prior military. She uses correct Naval aviation terminology, and followed all the protocols for the situation she was in. She first started by giving her call sign India Gold Niner Niner or IG99 and requesting an approach vector. She made the tower aware of her presence and asked where she should go to set up for landing. When she got no response she asked again and nothing. When she hears the radar lock alarm and sees the missles she says "IG99 Transmiting in the blind guard, disengage I repeat disengage!" "Guard" is the emergency frequency for most aircraft in the US. Transmiting in the blind means shes talking to the tower without establishing two way communications. She's telling the tower that she can't hear them, so if they've been giving her orders to turn around or that she was entering restricted airspace, she hasn't been receiving it. Normally this would mean they would stop firing and send an escort plane to escort the Helen away from the airspace or to a safe landing zone. After the second volley of missles she says "IG99 IS BUDDY SPIKED DISENGAGE!" which means "I am a friendly aircraft and I am receiving radar lock from friendly forces, DO NOT FIRE" Everything else she says is also accurate minus a slight mess up with her Mayday call (which I can excuse because she's got freaking missles flying at her)

Bob eating the cake was symbolism of having his cake and eating it too. Referring to trying to live like a superhero while having a family.

Rewatching Incredibles as an adult made me realize it was never a kids movie

This has to be Pixar's most adult film, and I'm here for it. Definitely the most gutsy, with attempted suicide, lawsuits, suppression of a race (the supers), genocide of the supers, midlife crisis, implied cheating, onscreen death, and I'm not sure if it qualifies, but Syndromes advances on Mirage when she's clearly not into it, I'm pretty sure is a form of sexual harassment. Oh yeah, and showing Gazerbeam's corpse is pushing it too for the film's rating also, I have to say, the gauntness of Mr. Incredible's face when he grabs Mirage by the neck, with that chilling calmness in his voice and that harsh white light on his face, ia brilliant cinematography to show how far hes fallen thanks to Syndrome

I just finished watching *THE INCREDIBLES* for the first time, and wow, it was so much more than I expected! I had always assumed it was a fun, lighthearted animated movie for kids, but boy, was I wrong. This film has a depth and complexity that goes beyond your typical children's movie. The themes explored in *THE INCREDIBLES* are surprisingly mature. It tackles deep issues such as identity crisis, existential struggles, and the challenges of family dynamics. I was blown away by how thought-provoking and emotionally engaging the story was. The characters in this film are so well-developed and relatable. It was fascinating to see how each member of the Incredible family dealt with their own personal struggles and insecurities. Mr. Incredible's mid-life crisis and longing for his superhero days, Elastigirl's desire for recognition and purpose, Violet's shyness, Dash's impatience, and even Jack-Jack's surprising powers provided such depth and relatability to their journeys. One thing that truly impressed me about *THE INCREDIBLES* was the animation. The visuals were stunning, and the action sequences were incredibly well-choreographed. The attention to detail, from the physics of the characters' movements to the intricate designs of their super suits, was impeccable. Furthermore, the humor in this film was clever and well-executed. There were moments that had me genuinely laughing out loud, and I appreciated the witty dialogue and comedic timing throughout. I watched this movie for the first time almost a year after it came out which was in 2005 and just absolutely loved it. I was in first grade and 7 at the time when I first saw it and actually went as Mr. Incredible for Halloween that same year. So many good times and memories I tell you.

I seen it since i was 6 and I always thought of it to be the darkest and scariest pixar movie ever!

Considering the walkway when the lava pulls back isn't white hot, I assume that the actual molten rock is being suspended in some kind of invisible force field that keeps most of its heat contained and prevents it from spilling into the room.
