"They move to spots so fast!" Oh man you're not ready for Getting Closer - they literally _yeet_ into position multiple times, it's insane. Their spatial awareness is just... lots of training, lots of experience and trust with each other, yes, but I kinda think that TEENY TINY studio they started in really forced them to be _extremely aware_ of where they are in relation to everything, especially each other. Loving how much you appreciate them! Don't feel bad, we were ALL overwhelmed by Hot, for various reasons lol

Really glad you enjoyed it 😄 SVT is known as the theater kids of kpop so it's always fun to watch them dance and perform. I would recommend Home Run if you want a jazzy theater vibe. It's one of my favorite dances. Also, you don't need to feel sorry or apologize for watching it more than once😁 I think most Carats would prefer you to digest as much as you can ☺️ I've watched this dance more than I should since it's so satisfying

the thing about seventeen is when they perform together, they all look so similar so synchronize but when you watch solo fancam of each member, they all have different style of dancing which so mesmerizing and incredible.

I will say, Hot is probably one of their more "chaotic" dances, though all their choreographies are pretty high energy and complicated in their own right. Seventeen is known for their synchronization and have often been referred to as the "theater kids" of Kpop- both for there eccentric personalities and their performance style. The performance unit usually have a hand in choreographing different dances. They have come up with interesting moves and create cool pictures with formations. I think you'll really enjoy them.

This is gonna be a kinda long comment sorry asjhkads You've probably been recommended this already but if you like formation changes then I REALLY REALLY recommend Fallin' Flower by Seventeen . The entire song embodies how flowers form and move and its really satisfying to look at. There are a TON of small details that symbolize different kinds of flowers and every time you rewatch the choreo video, you find something new. The entire song is basically Seventeen moving as one to create flowers so I think you'll really enjoy it if you like formation changes and stage blocking. I also recommend 24H by Seventeen because this song consists of amazing formation and it basically embodies clocks and how time moves forward in a way. The members shift in a circular formation for basically 2/3 of the song and it's amazing to see how they keep to the theme of a clock. There's also a shadow scene that's similar to the one in this choreo but it's used in a different way and I just absolutely love how the members change formations in this choreo. The song is also great but honestly, all of Seventeen's japanese tracks are top tier songs and have amazing choreography. I have one last recommendation which is a solo song by a Seventeen member. Spider by Hoshi has very unique choreo and it's considered one of the harder choreos in kpop since it requires a lot of body control and subtlety. It uses pull-up bars as props and he uses them in such a creative way. He also uses the stage in a kind of 360 degrees motion in which he isn't facing just the front, but also the sides when he dances. askjdj talking about the prop use in Spider reminds me of Pretty U and how Seventeen utilized the couch, but this comment is long enough so I won't get into it ALSO I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS THIS VIDEO WAS AWESOME TO WATCH please feel free rewatch the videos as many times as you need cuz I loved this sm. I also love how you analysis a lot of the parts and you pointed out a lot of things I previously missed which THANK YOU?? I really appreciate how you point out the members you recognize cuz most people don't really care enough to learn the different members. One last thing, if you ever have criticism, feel free to share them because I really enjoy seeing people's honest opinion in Seventeen's music. I feel like I'm repeating myself too much at this point but still, this was such a great reaction video, looking forward to more!

This comment is so on point! Yas!! 13 petals becoming 1 flower is the definition of Falling Flower. (The 13 petals are the 13 members, of course.) 24H? Aaaahh, yes! It's so good to watch. And I agree that ALL of their Japanese is so good, that I must say it's underrated. Apart from "Spider", there's one more performance that you definitely should see. It's "Tiger" by Hoshi featuring Tiger JK. (Lots of tigers, right?) From here, you can see how much caliber of a performer Hoshi is. I'm happy to watch you enjoying the performances of Seventeen. And to think that this is just one song/performance. How much more if you dive into it. I'm sure you'll definitely slip in to the diamond life! Yes, ghurl!!

" Run home"," Pretty U" giving the theater vibe and it's soo cool; " Don't wanna cry", " Faling flower" and " My my" are kings of dinamic, they literally drew pictures by the choreography; " Getting closer", "Hit": dark, powerful, technique, crazy!!; " Mansae", " Aju nice": Sharp and powerful, youth energy; " Left and right" chill and groove Having 13 members is like the two edge sword, they can full fill the stage and give a wider picture by their choreography but at the same time being in sync could be a big challenge for them. However, them being the most in sync group would forever impress me :))) They have some of the most unique choreography that i ever seen in the whole kpop. The most important thing that makes me so proud of them is the creative and passion they give during their performances.

as a dance practice enthusiast, as long as I see dance practice from several groups. I can confirm svt is the only group that I always look forward to their dance practice every comeback😭✊ like you said, after seeing a few dances from a group you will have expectations and understand their type of dance. But seriously, no matter how many times you watch SVT dance it's something new every time. Not just their songs that are have different genre every comeback, their dances are also always different according to the genre of music, some pro dancers I know say that SVT masters various dance styles, you will know after watching some dance practices, And maybe some of them is incredibly good at dancing but none members in svt that lack in dancing, every member can become main dancer 😅 so Its make even more fun to watch. apart from their amazing synchronization, their choreos and formations are always "different" and fits the song. sometimes i just not satisfied when i watch others group choreo like i expect others formation or movement but when its come to svt's choreo i wouldn't imagine another choreo in my head bcs their choreo is always perfect for the song. Even for their b-side song, the dance is also very good like the title track. I cant wait to see ur next reaction^^ i think u will like homerun, thanks, dont wanna cry, getting closer, 24H, darling, tbh watch all😂 its so good and different everytime

Thank you for the reaction. There’s really no specific explanation or storyline behind the MV, but here are some additional info/details to back it up. 1. Hot is the title track for their album Face The Sun hence the repeated reference to the Sun in the song and in the MV. Based on their interviews and song descriptions, they describe the Sun in many different ways across the songs in the album. But in a way, in this song, the sun is something they wanted to somehow conquer with their burning passion as per the line “Face the sun, set it on fire”. They wanted to be greater than the sun, and be the sun for others. That’s even the title of their world tour, Be The Sun. There were also references to shadow in the MV which is also a song in their album. Shadows only appear when there’s a source of light like the sun. In the album, they referred shadow as the sides that they never wanted to show. So yeah, Sun, fire, and shadow are the main elements of the song and the MV. 2. This MV succeeded a prerelease song, Darl+ing. In that MV the concept was similar to Peter Pan showing youth and time, but in the end, everything fell apart as they started to cast shadows in their world. A possible interpretation of this is them realizing about the realities of the world which has shadows/darkness in many areas. There’s a scene in the Hot MV where Mingyu shoots a Darling sign and the bullet hitting the L, leaving the word Daring. 3. With all of those elements combined, I think they wanted to be more daring, and they showcased it really well with the incorporation of steampunk/mechanical vibes in a desert. I think they were going for a Mad Max with Wild West concept but with more colors. 4. Most of their previous MVs portrayred different “characters” per member though some of them don’t have that much meaning but only alludes to the general concept of the song and MV. One of the most notable roles in the MV is the one with mechanical wings. Some fans believe it is a reference to Icarus, the Greek mythology character who flew too near to the sun wanting to conquer it, but failed because his wings were made of beeswax which resulted to his demise. The MV shows Jeonghan with broken wings going on a high place then dropping the wings to the ground. Others may have meanings though we’re not really sure about them.

As others have stated, Fallin Flower (japanese track) is a MUST. It can get overwhelming because honestly every track/dance practice is god tier, but I would really recommend Hit, Getting Closer, Ready to Love, Thanks, and Homerun. Something i would add is during the “u formation” the inner circle dancing are only the performance unit members (hoshi, dino, jun, the8), who i just know you would come to love, also seventeen doesn’t really shy away from using unique formations including splitting into their designated units, performance, vocal and hiphop units so you’re in for a ride! They have one of the most amazing dance formations and concepts fr, for example 24h and fallin’ flower are both extremely breathtaking even for me, whos not a dancer. However i do pray for your sanity for when you see these choreo 💀

For a b-side, I would really love for you to see Fearless, although we don't have an MV or a practice for this one. But it's just an overall amazing and powerful choreo from them. saw your first reaction to seventeen and kinda binged all 3 of your svt videos. glad you get to enjoy seventeen and im excited that you get to start your journey getting to know them more. tbh any song/dance practice of them would be fine, it's so diverse like you won't get the same things twice. i think i speak for a lot of carats but we love when dancers/ performers analyze seventeen songs and dances so pause and replay as much as you like and as much as it needs so you get to analyze and digest the song/choreo. 35:24 i was about to comment this too but then editing that would be such a pain, i think a good alternative would be putting still picture of the move you are talking about or just the time stamp on the original dance video would be okay too. enjoy caratland!!!

My interpretation of Hot : This is right after Darling.. a song that depicts a journey between two worlds.. from a softer dream like world to a rougher post apocalyptic world... Sort of like seventeen going from a dreamy boyish era to dark mature era.. In Hot mv it's passionate mature symbols. Symbolising their passion... jeonghan being fallen rogue angel, knives, breaking guitars, fire and skeletons This is purely my interpretation..

I can proudly sat that they oare one of the best when it comes to choreo and dancing, they are one of those group that are known for their hard choreo and synchronizations and always win awards for best performance every year in award shows. They have a performance unit and I suggest checking their video out as well bc they rlly are an another level. And I don't really think that there are other groups that can beat seventeen in dancing.

Hi Sasha, about the story line of mv it would make sense if u watch Darl+ing mv(their full length english song) first which is the 1st track in Face The Sun album. The mv has themes of Peter Pan and neverland, ends with an unexpected turn leading to Hot which is an apocalyptic world. At the beginning of the video, one of the member shoots a bullet through the letters DARL+ING striking down the L turning it into DARING implying seventeen is not afraid to tread on a new path/new direction in their music. Seventeen proclaims to face their challenges /inner fears head on like the scorching sun shedding their shadows. Seventeen ultimately aims to 'be the Sun' which exerts it's influence like all over the world. There's not a single day in the world Sun doesn't rise and shine. Now Hot leads to the song _WORLD (more like a sequel) which denotes the post apocalyptic world, invites us to join them and promises to stay with us nd never let us down. So the proper order for mvs would be DARL+ING >HOT >WORLD The whole album has a story line and ends with the song ASH which speaks about burning away nd rising from ashes like a Phoenix just like Vernon's rap lines "Metamorphosis born in fire then I fly away" Set me free yeah To the Sun ,To the Moon Another World, Blaze up anew" The whole Face The Sun album is bop and is currently the best selling album of 2022 with 3.522 million sales surpassing Bts Proof.

If you like formation changes then I can’t wait until you get to 24H, Home;Run, Boom Boom, My My, Pretty U, Oh My!, Thanks, Don’t Wanna Cry (which connects into their other song Without You), and Fear which connects to their other song Fearless. Seventeen in my opinion is a cut above the majority of groups just because of the sheer creativity in their choreographies.

interesting you mentioned riding a horse because the theme of becoming greater than the sun is present in the whole face the sun album and the song march is about riding over a city towards the sun "like a cowboy." also the "hot" mv is a sequel to the "darl+ing" mv and a prequel to the "_world" mv, they're expressing a message towards fans and also about their ambitions going forward, its really cool I enjoyed your analysis so much, it was really great hearing your thoughts and interpretations. the way you did it this video was good too, no problems there! if you're interested in story narratives the tldr is: darling mv was a prequel to this which shows their happy place and it [redeacted for spoilers] which then leads to the face the sun teasers which shows their individual fears. it progress to hot, which is them overcoming themselves. and then i guess _world ties it up. it shows their "new world" and them inviting into their journey darling > hot teasers > hot > _world not rlly that into lores myself but it might help you go into it with less confusion. go on your pace and dont worry so much about catching details, you're doing great and you're so fun to watch ❤ and honestly what you picked up on two watches was already so detailed and you explained them so well i was interest and engaged the whole time! ❤❤

Yeah that was Joshua in the MV. I agree that the concept is very mixed, it's like western + mad max apocalyptic + circus or smth. Its a really cool mv tho. I haven't watched the full vid yet but I don't mind critique, that's just respecting their craft in my opinion, I know you ain't doing anything out of hate. Hopefully everyone in comments will continue to treat you nicely, I really hope you feel welcomed. I also really recommend reading the lyrics cause it could help you understand some of the iconography in the MV and details in the choreo. One good example is the part where woozi danced with jun laying on the floor as a shadow mirroring him, it's a reference to the lyrics. You can also see at the same the trio of members are acting as the sun. Finished now! Really enjoyed your reactions and I love the new insights on the choreo, like the horse theory and esp the lasso. Not overwhelm you even more but here are some recs of choreos I got reminded of. Revolving doors part: call call call, idk why but I think it mostly the arms Ripple: thanks, home;run. I think it's a ripple but kinda not really idk in homerun but it's really cool It was really funny watching you say that you'd watch it once when it was like 20min left of the vid. Btw I think you said that you'll try to yourself guess who the dancers are, but I get that it would take some more time to be able to even distinguish different members and therefore guess. Also maybe carats will inform you in the comments

I love your comment! I've felt so welcomed by Carats, and it's made me even more excited to discover more about Seventeen. I am notoriously the *worst* at remembering to check lyrics. I'm so focused on the musicality and instruments I forget lyrics even exists sometimes, so that's definitely something I will try and be better about. As far as guessing the dancers, I think that ship has sailed. I kind of have a vague understanding of the performance unit now and can spot them in formations.

@@SashaMarie I'm glad you feel welcomed. There are so many aspects to process so I absolutely don't blame you for not focusing on lyric , it's just that sometimes the lyrics add depth to other aspects.
