In patreon content vivinos and qmeng (vivinos' partner) mention that ivan can't feel human emotion in a normal way, in part two of the comic you mentioned on twitter ivan talks abt regretting being mean to sua (another comic where the two discuss sacrifice, ivan believes sua sacrificing herself for mizi was a bad decision because of how much mizi loves her and how sua's death broke her, which ended up in sua crying) and also that he feels like his love for till is shallow and harmful (ivan personally believes his sacrifice for till is alright because he knows till's heart remains with mizi) its mentioned that the monster attack featured in black sorrow and cure was actually ivan set up himself, he was a troublemaker as a kid and had actually led till and mizi to the dog alien just to see what would happen, which is when ivan became infatuated with till because of how he risked everything to protect mizi. it's a common thing of ivan doing things to get till's attention (or just to get him to look at him) (vivinos&qmeng mention that ivan would do things like stealing till's favourite items and returning them just to receive some kind of praise for it) the kiss in itself most likely is another attempt from ivan to gain till's attention, or to incite some kind of aggression or reaction out of him in general because of how defeated till looked after round 5. it wasn't really out of romance or anything, just a desire to get till to look at him. the choking was purposeful and non-aggressive though. if you look closely despite the track still running at 53:18 till stopped singing entirely, which made ivan realize either he had to tip their scores or till was going to die. so ivan made it seem like he was attempting to kill till on stage so that he would die instead, and the reason why ivan smiled once he coughed up blood is because he felt like he was doing something good/righteous for once, and also till genuinely reacted when he died. Ty so so much for taking the time to explain!! I felt there was something so much deeper to Ivan that I wasn’t understanding 😭 I struggled to fully grasp round 6 and this has been so helpful to really understand him as a character. Till was my favourite until round 6. Then I understood the depth of Ivan's character. I think that among the 4MC of this generation he is the most well thought and written one

i think thats a good explanation but i disagree with it not being out of romance at all (though i do agree with the reasons you gave, i think theyre part of it too). if you had one chance to kiss the love of your life wouldnt you do it? it's a selfish want that makes sense for ivan.

21:39 he got isolated/punished because he fought against the guard dog (the alien that he and Mizi encountered after chasing Mizi's crown flower), and Ivan released him 😭

There's actually a theory I came across about Luka and Hyuna. it was on how When Hyuna looks at her brother lying on the floor she's in front of him and Luka is on the floor bleeding from his arm. They basically said that maybe The two boys got into a fight after Luka provoked him and so Hyuna went over to stop the altercation. SHe pushed her brother away from Luka since he was bleeding and he fell and hit his head on a rock. Luka seems to be in too much pain to be capable of pushing someone hard enough with his messed up arm so I always thought it never made since unless someone else did it. They also brought up on how haunted Hyuna looked by her brother in the trailer.

You should def check out more comments (especially the top comments) since they explain very well their interpretations of each round, for an example Ivan fell in love or became obsessed with Till because you can see in the animation that he actually fought back against the aliens, which he never thought was even possible since he lived his whole life captive like a puppet. Or maybe the fact that they're literally treated as pets, they didn't CHOOSE to participate, they can't. basically their owners put them in the anakt garden to train them for the competition, why would they purposely participate in a death game 😭(expect Luka he's crazy)

Till stopped singing, so he would have lost had Ivan not sacrificed himself by (fake) choking Till. Therefor disqualifying himself. I interpret the kiss as a confession and a goodbye 😢

I personally interpreted the kiss as Ivan's only way of conveying to Till that he loved him in the cirucmstances they were in. Till was not in the headspace to recieve, let alone process, the information if Ivan had just told him he loved him. They were also competing on stage, so I really think it was the only way for him to show Till that he cared so deeply for him before he sacrificed himself, the kiss wasn't really FOR Ivan. He wanted to tell Till that even though he always had eyes for Mizi, Ivan still let himself be consumed by his love for him, and he eventually was killed for it.

Lately Alien stage gives me pain and more pain, so idk if you already checked official twt account for alien stage, but there's a continuation for "confession" comic there, which breaks my heart so hard 💔

DUNNO, if people pointed this out. But i cant get it out of my mind when i read it. People saying that Ivans song "black sorrow" was some form of confession and you see till waking up a the end. Till never heard ivans song in round 3 cause till passed out at the end of his own round. That there kinda ruined my mood 😭

i personally believe ivan didnt really plan this due to the confession comic. he mentions not expecting his words to sua (being calling her a hypocrite and saying shes become nothing but mizis trauma) to come back to him so suddenly, despite knowing the line up Would be him vs till. its mostly his frustration at tills sudden pause in singing, essentially giving up, that caused him to decide in that moment to give himself up. because, of course, till could definitely live without him, right?

I love how you actually analysed things because most reactions are just watching the rounds without even caring to understand.

Look I hate Luka too but I've been thinking about a theory. So what if Luka annoys Mizi in round 5 so she beats him up like she did, so then Hyuna can go and save her? And it results that Ivan is still alive, then they somehow save Till in round 7 and escape and live happily ever after. I don't know, I just want them all to be happy in the end. 😭😭😭

i think whats the most probable reason for hyunas brothers death was that she was breaking up a fight between luka and hyun woo (her brother), who may have saw luka forcing himself onto hyuna and initiating a fight, plus luka looks and seems very frail? since he has a disease (probably norries disease) and is implied to have been artificially made and grown by aliens (which mightve developed some problems, and probably was the cause for his lack of emotion since in an art its implied he grew up in isolation) and you pointed out hyuna seemed very overprotective, and i agree, in alot of the frames it seems like shes trying to include the introverted luka, hyun woo seems very strong (piggybacking hyuna) and luka seemed more beat up (before hyun woo died) since hyun woo only had scratches and scrapes (prolly caused by him hitting luka) and luka was bleeding, so i dont think luka couldve tried to fight hyun woo, plus at the end hes crouched down, so not rly in a position to push hyun woo onto the rock (the back of his head is on the rock, so he was pushed onto it) and hyuna was standing up, the on,y one that couldve pushed him. luka is also in a weird position? maybe hyun woo was on top and was hitting him, hyuna pushes hyun woo off and maybe luka gets up into that position, i dont know, but i think that luka was probably not fighting back alot, but luka i think sees hyuna as a savior as implied in his song for this incident, because hes blushing (could be caused by the fight, like excercise since he was sweating alot and it seems like vivinos takes this into account, since ivans face became red when he was sweating alot while fighting with till? or its just simply arousal for hyuna saving him) but all just speculation since vivinos barely gave any context and stuff, since round 5 was in mizis perspective and she didnt know him sadly we didnt get any lore drop there 😭 maybe we will find out in round 7, hopefully its in lukas perspective so we can see context

At 53:40 I'm thinking that he kissed Till so that he can make Till have a reaction, an aggressive reaction towards him, so that it can lit the flames, i guess to live? But Till didn't react, he didn't got angry and started singing, he accepted his demise, so Ivan have no choice but to pretend to keep on choking Till... And in the end, before he died, he saw Till's shocked face... Idk how Till didn't know Ivan's being gunned down, probably because of all the noise the rain, the background music, the cheers of the aliens, but the shocked face he gave out made me think that he was confused as to why Ivan didn't finish him and literally got shocked as he see his "childhood friend" fall down to the ground and die after he kissed him... Idk about till, but, if my childhood friend kissed me and died for me i would fucking keep on living to not waste their life that they ended just for me to live... And i think that's what ivan wants for Till to do... To be soo angry towards him, or just be soo sad towards him that Till would have his shit together and basically sing to the best of his abilities and survive this damned competition! Basically saying "i can't live without you, but you can live without me, your love is still out there, so please keep on singing"
