@Boi Boi, you defintely can get PVC pipes in England. Probably just called Plastic pipes in most places but you can 100% get it in most stores, pretty sure B&Q sells it or homebase. If not theres plenty of websites that sell them based in Uk and Amazon sells them, just not on prime.

Hey guys, great video. Love the glow component. We will try that with our troop. A couple of suggestions: For a more permanent solution to the electrical tape ring. You can use a candle to melt the pipe at the point where the bottle stops. When it's warm compress the pipe a little bit to create a compression fitting. The natural flare from the compression will keep the water seal. Otherwise, the electrical tape has to be replaced every so often. Second is if you use propane instead of air you will get more propulsion. Propane compresses better than air.
Super cool! Somehow I missed this one, but came looking for it after you referenced it in today's video (7 May, 2019).

I had a nostalgia trip with this build! My cousins and I used to do this all summer but we just used a bike pump and made a few adapters with small plastic funnels from home depot and A LOT of electrical tape! Fill bottle with water, plug the hole with the electrical tape, pump with a bike pump and as pressure builds... BLAST OFF!
Great video - might you try glow bubbles?

I have 5 of these in my garage, made them when I was a Boy Scout and it was only two weeks ago I was showing them off to my son’s scout troop. Mine don’t have zip tie “launch control” and use a shorter length for the bottle to slide over. Yours may have a “launch tower” kind of effect bc of that longer piece. Gunna have to experiment and bring out the new version next time.
I think you need to do a video figuring out how to make glow fluid at home! You use a lot of it for projects and it might be less labor intensive and possibly more cost effective to make it if you can buy the things that go into it
Isn't that glowstick stuff toxic?

not really. You shouldn't drink it but it's not going to poison the field or anything.
13:27 a Mad scientists Laugh !
Easy adjustment is to heat up the PVC with a birthday candle to make a bulge that the soda bottle will push against to keep the water and pressure in. Our Cub Scout pack uses 2 1/2 cups of water and 70# pressure. We also have a 6 station launching unit that uses an air compressor. The glow stream is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing.
Just a quick thought. Can you make yourself magnetic?
Anyone else just skip to the end?? 13:20

When I was young during the early 1960s, I had a hand held water rocket that flew really well . The rocket was 7 or 8 inches tall and maaybe 1.5 inches in diameter. I used to experament a lot with different amounts of water to see what made the rocket go the highest. LOTS of fun, but I would have been amazed to see this size of unit!!!
Hey, I recently got a 3D pen. It's super cool. I've thought of a lot of things it would be useful for, but it's also fun to just mess around with. You should do a video with one.

REALLY, NO NEED SO MUCH PVC PIPE. I ALSO DID IT BUT THIS IS SO MUCH DIFFICULT TO MAKE LOL
If you fill the cone with sand, it will fly higher. My friend and I used to do this stuff, and it definitely makes a huge difference. It turns a thirty feet of flight into a couple hundred feet or more depending on pressure. We used about 60 to 80 psi
This is awesome because my class in school just did these

@cbpercy06
5 жыл бұрын
No. The density of the helium is less than that of air, therefore requiring a greater amount of helium. Because of this, the final weights are the same.
@wifighostcruiser9665
5 жыл бұрын
No, and if you put any more helium than then you need to displace the air it will just make it heavier again.

Put a gasket near the bottom where the neck of the bottle is. Also try using the hydro generator and adding some sort ignition.
You should put the 'fins' at a bit of an angle, so that the bottle spins, it should be more stable in the air and fly more verticaly
