Agreed
I literally stopped fearing public speaking the second you said stop being selfish, I understood everything and in my mind I immediately knew I wouldn’t fear public speaking as long as I keep thinking about the audience and how I can help them

Don't worry, Vinh might have also taken 25 years to understand and distil it down 😊
Ones self conscious is the biggest hindrance to the physical actions
This advice is gold! What also helped me is knowing that everyone in the audience wants you to succeed, they are not sitting there hoping you stuff up, they are all barracking for you.
This is some solid advice. Reminds me of Jay Shettys advice on service. And how serving others brings meaning and purpose to our lives and removes the focus on self.
Omg I didn’t expect this to help I’ve been scrolling for a while trying to get over the fear but this guy has showed me that it’s not about me and it’s about giving the audience the info and helping them out.
I have autism and have been using your videos to help me present myself better to people for lack of better terms so I really appreciate the work that you're doing keep it up

How are you doing now mate?
This man is doing a brilliant job! I'm happy for him because he's sharing very useful and helpful tips that all of us could benefit from.
This is so beyond true. Never thought about it as me being a vehicle for the audience but that is exactly what it is like, just like a comedian.
Or, alternatively, you can potentially focus on your purpose if it’s easier to think about that instead. A mindset of “man on a mission” - it at least helps in cases where you are afraid of others judging you, which can also contribute to fear of public speech. I noticed it helps me to not care about others’ opinions and judgement (or convictions as a byproduct of judgements) by shifting my focus on the here and now and, most importantly, on the importance of what I am doing. What I am doing is too important to let others influence it in a negative way, so why should I even allow others to control it if it brings me more harm than good? I don’t know these people, so whose to say that what they think is relevant? Questions like that. As an example: you want to go to a gym to become healthy due to obesity. However, you always feel like others are watching you and judging you. Are you exercising because of your peers? No, you are doing this for yourself. Other people are irrelevant to your goal, and more than likely you are to them as well for the same goals: health and well being. As I said: you get into the mindset of someone on a mission that would not get deterred from the right path. If soldiers can carry out their missions and not care who thinks what because their mission is too important and it NEEDS to be done, then why can’t we?
The nerves start to calm themselves down ❤❤❤
Well put! Communication is about (and should be more of) sharing value! When you give value by sharing, fear is replaced by caring 😌
Man, you’re so good at this. So relatable and such great tips, thank you 🙏🏼
It's so true! I always get nervous when I'm doing a presentation of 10min for an exam. But I deliver lectures of 2hrs without any problem. I always wondered why & I think I found the reason. When it's all about others your nerves are calm but the more you focus on yourself you get nervous!
I've been looking for someone like you all my life , thank you so much for giving ppl the confidence that they've always wished for , you are a GENIUS
YOU ARE THERE TO GIVE VALUE ❤ Thousands thanks Vinh
This is new communication mentor and friend from a distance.. maximum intelligency Vinh you are the best of your kind!
This has been my principle from the half of this year..I consciously decided that I will create value to solve problems and meet needs
This! This is the answer, This is what I need!!
Everything you say is incredibly eye opening!
Wow!! That's exactly how I've messed up in the past (with public speaking) -- getting stuck in my own head and going internal ☹☹. So true!! I love what he says about getting into the mindset of service and giving to others. Wow!! Praise God! Very helpful advice!! 🙏🥰🙏❤
My grandpa had a saying "always have something in your basket". When you are asked to talk in front of people always have something insightful and meaningful to share with those people
Thank you Vinh for this..... I always get nervous of getting on stage for anything so I usually avoided it.... But now I've got more courage than before to do public speaking!
I've always had stage fright and this advice is absolutely right on. Now I know how to overcome the fear! Thank you!
OMG, i can't believe I found the right guru, u r nailing it all tips perfectly... Wanna get coached by you
I admire how passionate and smart and on point you are! Chapeau!
Easier said than done, but I do agree!
Such a good advice, and such a good mentor you are
Amen✨ God bless you, I've learned so much from 3 of your videos on Shorts like it's insane you just catapulted my confidence & delivery 👏🏾
Thanks for bringing me into magic and now teaching me to communicate 🙏
This is absolutely life changing advice. My mind was just completely blown away. This is so true and I never would have ever realized this on my own. He is absolutely so correct. I am taking this advice and running away to a public speaking engagement wherever I can find one.:)
Man.....this guy is CORRECT. Gosh....I've never thought about it that way....Boy that changes things. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this! This is exactly my problem. I think everyone is judging me instead of focusing on what I am there for.
Probably the best advice in a minute than I learned in all 4 years of college and the 3 spent in graduate school
You WOW me EVERY . SINGLE . TIME !!! .... you just don't run out of amazing ideas and inspiring ways of thinking !
I love your stuff Vinh, I've got a big presentation on Wednesday and I've gained so many great tips from your channel. Keep going mate it's great stuff
This’s quite strong - best I’ve heard so far - so encouraging and true!
This guy is unbelievably good.
You made me cry bro, our awesome
Thank you Big brother 🙏
What a perspective. This should work. Thank you 🙏
So very true. I remember when this happened to me at a funeral. I did the eulogy and I was nervous then I did just that. I told myself, it was for them not for me. I gave it without fear but with love.
This is even more true from the standpoint of education. In school they teach you about public speaking with the purpose of teaching, but you can’t really master it until you’ve done it, failed, and tied again until you’ve succeeded.
I tell this to people when they say they’re thinking about being in the nursing field. I tell them that their yearning to help people should be magnified and they will forget about being shy or scared. Empathy is a super power. 😊

When I think about public speaking, my heart beats really hard even I am alone :(
Makes sense, giving them service is what will push me to think, hey start the presentation pronto
Thank you, Vinh, for influencing a more beneficial perspective on fear! ❤
Best public speaking advice I’ve heard
Great tip! Shifting the focus from oneself to the audience and the value being provided is a powerful way to reduce nerves before a presentation. It helps in keeping perspective and delivering with confidence.
You should make an audio book on speaking. I'd love to listen to that while moving around
This is gold. This guy belongs in the top of the top.
❤Vinh you in less than a minute have REVOLUTIONIZED my life… thank you.… when I Serve it overcomes my Nerves.…
I love this approach. Thanks!

Holy crap this has got to be the best advice on this easily.
Great ever advice. Marvellous I'm glad to follow a humanity lover. Thanks God
Love you my Vinh! Thank you for your great sharing!
This is easier said than done..Only practise practise practise will get your fear out.
Wow this one opened my eyes
Wow! Blow my mind! Your absolutely right! Great info. Thank you.
Looking in the comments, I'm glad this advice worked great for some people. I, personally, really don't care for it. So this is a reminder to my fellow mentally-ill folks to not shame yourselves for struggling. And remember that no piece of advice will work for everyone and that's okay. I recognize that there's some truth in his message and I absolutely do think it's important to improve your communication skills. And most people aren't judging you for the little things you're stressed about unless you make a big deal out of it. However I just want to point out a few things. First of all, this information is presented as sort of a cure-all, life-changing lesson that applies perfectly to everyone who fears public speaking. It is not as simple as waking up one morning and realizing you've just been really selfish and you need to care more about people. This leads to my next point: *shaming people for having fears, insecurities, and anxiety often makes things worse*. As someone with multiple anxiety disorders, I have tried to "just stop worrying about it" and tell myself I'm being selfish. But once again it is not that easy. I ended up STILL being anxious, but now with the belief that I'm a bad person who doesn't care enough about other people, as well as thinking there was something wrong with me because I was still scared. I don't like that this video so directly and assertively tells the viewer that they don't have good enough intentions. I care so so much about serving other people, but my gut response to that pressure is to think I'm not good enough to be of service. I'm not worthy of the responsibility and they shouldn't trust me to do a good job. Using "tough love" on someone with these thought patterns is a recipe for disaster. So y'all, be kind to yourselves. Definitely serve others and work on yourself, but don't invalidate your own feelings in the process. K I'm putting the soap box away now, have a nice day
School teaches us differently sadly. But hey, we got people like vinh who are amazing at teaching us correctly, so that's nice 😊
As someone going into a new year of school which means talking to new people for the first time and giving a bunch of oral presentations... thanks for this
The only thing I needed for my poor public speaking 🔥💯👏
Wow this is good!! Thanks for sharing!!
