I tend to think butterflies/moth with vibrant colors are prettier, which I don't think is the case with the Chinese moon moth. I think people like it because their body looks fluffy. To me, the blue tiger moth and the Morpho zephyritis are prettier.

I will never understand people who like killing caterpillars whenever they see them. For the most part, they are harmless, and only hurt you by accident. And I am not talking about people who are killing them for eating crops, I am talking about people who see them on a bench or a tree and they just kill them. They are beautiful creatures that turn even more beautiful growing up.

I agree. Also don't like it when people kill caterpillars just because they heard it was poisonous. Like, I know they don't what a severe reaction, but it can only hurt you if you touch it. It does not try to attack you or purposely rub its hairs on you to hurt you. It is a predator defense and it will not hurt you just because you looked at it. I saw someone on Facebook throwing their anger at a caterpillar saying Giant Leopard moth caterpillars were "stupid and evil" because their dog ate one and died. I know they were sad about their dog, but it's not like the caterpillar just decided to jump on the dog and shove itself down its throat to kill it. The caterpillar was just doing its thing. Also someone posted a picture of a giant leopard moth next to a picture of a hand with holes and blisters in it and made it look like giant leopard mods were terrible insects. A lot of people were saying "thanks, I saw one and killed it." Sad, because giant leopard moths are gorgeous insects and their caterpillars are totally harmless. Moths are insects people like to spread myths about just to make them look bad and get other people to hate and kill them.
