How much did they charge you?

Of course. There are some ideas that might make this adjustable for different dates, perhaps.

I just did Xpel XR 30% all around except windshield for my wife's model 3. Looks a lot less dark than yours at 15% but since we live up here in Canada with much less sun, it will be ok for us. Good job and your car looks great.

In my opinion, 15 is too dark for the front and also too dark to put over factory privacy glass which is already about 28. Many shops suggest about 35 to be put on the stock privacy which brings the number down to about 15. I'm afraid to go darker than about 30 on the front sides and no darker than 50 on the windshield.

Your car looks great. I'll definitely be going there, great video.

The 64 million dollar questions are 1.) have you noticed a considerable difference in the inside temperature? 2.) What was the inside temp of the cabin before and after tinting? and perhaps most importantly, you mentioned that depending on the temperature on that particular day, the heat reduced your battery life by 1% to 3 %. Although most owners refer to this as "phantom drain" we also know that outside temperature can have an affect on the percentage of drain as well. 3.) How much has the tint reduced the idle battery drain?

The tint actually helps efficiently of the car or the battery more while you in the car and drive so you don’t have to blast the AC so much in summer heat while you drive. Is it pretty common to do the whole rear glass panel? I got mine tinted today and there is a definitive line where the glass starts to tint from the factory.

Hi Aaron, It’s common to do the whole rear glass however not every tint shot offer the whole rear glass option. Before I came to place I shopped around a lot and only a few offer the whole rear glass option because the size of the Model 3 rear window is much bigger that normal cars. Can you see through the window clearly at night with 15%? How do you like it so far? I had mine tinted 15% all around, including the roof, and found it might be a bit too dark. Thinking if I should change to 35%.

One thing my shop did was on the rear window they just tinted the bottom part and left the top part of the rear as is since it’s already factory tinted so from the inside I see a line from the tint where it was installed from the bottom half but on the outside of my Tesla it’s invisible and the line can’t be seen from the outside. I love it this way and was charged $220 to tint all my windows minus the front windshield…

does anyone with a white interior & tinted front windows have an issue with the dash screen reflecting onto the side mirrors making it difficult to see?

Most shops add $100 to $200 more to tint the back window compared to the Y back window. It's that difficult to get to.

Great video. What did they do to prevent water from going into the dash and affect electronics when tinting the windshield? I'm debating if I should, fearing water might get into electronics. Any issues so far?

@@dadstoyscars i just placed my order last weekend and my delivery date is January-April but I’ve been getting a lot of people tell me they got theirs earlier then the expected date. But we will see. I got my Tesla app ready and filling out all the stuff they make you do before hand. Right when I placed the order they wanted me to get the app and pre do like stuff for registration just steps is that normal ? Does everyone get prompted to fill everything out in the app ?

I would use this guy if he were closer to Central Florida!!! I will look for an xpel guy out this way. Most seem to give crazy quotes. (very expensive) I like your 3. I'm between the 3 and the y. I see Tesla uses the hepa filters on the S, X, and Y. I don't see it in the 3.

did they have to open the door trims, door panels? Some place they open the door trims out I do not like it. It may cause rattle noise later due to worn door clips got reused. 650 is not bad. I dont like front windshield got tinted. front door should be 50%. I would do 5% for the rear windows and rear windshield. You got back up cam any way. you get used to dark tint when backing up.

A bit too dark IMHO. I don't want to get pulled over. Adding 35 to factory privacy glass brings it down to about 18 from what some shops told me. Yours with 15 on top of factory 28 results in about 5 percent.

They don't offer you the best. 3m has the best if you are really worried about blocking heat. It's a good thing you live in SOCal. You would be pulled over for having illegal tints in the SF Bay Area. Did they make you sign a waiver for those front tints?

I am doing 20% all round and windshield 70% and planning road-trip from LA to Seattle in temp number provided by Tesla. Should I worry about getting pulled over?

My car is 15% all around and never get pulled over yet in 8 months🤞😁 I guess just don’t drive too fast on your road trip so you don’t get pulled over for speed and they might add tint fixing ticket to that. 13:59 He says what he got percentage wise. 15% all around but 70% on the front windshield. For myself, I'm thinking of 70 front windshield. 35 on the front sides and rear windshield (night time rear visibility for safety of others, plus if it's too dark apparently has cracked some peoples large rear windshield closer to the roof side fyi) and 5 on the rear sides myself. I see too many tickets for tint in my area and I think this will give me the privacy and heat rejection I want but pass as legal enough for the cops to leave me alone. Technically you cannot have any tint on the front windshield below the first 4 inches from the top in CA and it must be 30 max darkness for the front sides; remember the numbers equate to the percentage of light transmission so the lower the number, the darker the tint. 100 is no tint. 5 is limo (darkest carried/applied by most shops). 0 would be no light transmission; not sure if that exists and would unlikely be practical bc I don't think you'd be able to see out either. From front to back terminology; my planned example: Front windshield 70 Front sides 35 Rear sides 5 Rear windshield 35 Moon roof 70 just for heat rejection The reason after some research for me for 70 on the moon roof tint is I find it is adequate and those who have done it darker says it reflects too much and some shops even says that darker may cause cracks and I also like seeing out of it. Plus I can install a sun shade there if I really want. Hope that helps someone.

Did they reset all your settings? The owner told me they had to do it when they tinted mine and it was so disappointing to lose all my settings.

@@brandonng6000 oh no, they just used the heat gun to shape the tint film before they actually take it inside to install from the inside.

Higher quality tint is a waste of money. I tinted my Tesla with the chelatest film and it’s perfect. You got scammed my friend lol. I paid $300 including windshield 😂
