Hey, Sean, I sold my 2007 Yamaha Silverado 1100 and bought a 2018 Rebel 500. I'm 74 years old and been riding different bikes for 55+ years. THIS BIKE IS NOT ONLY A BEGINNER BIKE, BUT A WELL SORTED COMPACT MOTORCYCLE THAT GOES LIKE HELL. I'm not apologetic about the bike when me and my buds (all have 1100 bikes) go on 800+ mile trips, this baby keeps the pace, but I end up more relaxed at the end of the trip because I'm not hauling around extra weight. I commited the sin of adding a windshield (not pretty, but comfortable), a cool, inexpensive exhaust, and a custom tailight, now it's my custom. You guys keep up the good work on these videos and Honda you keep up the good work too. Ride on, Bros!

That's to get the price up. The big manufacturers don't want to sell ANYTHING less than $4800, so super size it. The teen market really has no logical real bike under 25hp and for a few thousand ($2000 or under used) until they reintroduced the CB125 this year. However you must jump from 125 to 300/500 for street standards.

I really like the look of it. Honda is kinda going with the Lotus method of power. Lightweight with enough power. Wet the Rebel is under 370 lbs. An Indian Scout 60 is over 600 lbs. it has about 28-30 more HP than the Rebel 500. It’s going to waste 20 of them on the extra 200+ lbs. Both are thought of as beginner bikes. I’d argue the Honda is a little more clickable at that light weight. Decent little bike, especially for the money.
