VA Inst. of Blacksmithing (VIB) also has a power hammer tooling class in November taught by Allan Kress. I attended his class last year and left that workshop w/ over a dozen tools and tons of ideas (and several handles) for other tools. Clay Spencer's book Flat Die Power Hammer Tools is also an excellent resource. For my tire hammer, I attended the 2023 tire hammer build at Chappapeela Crafts in Robert LA. Curtis Herrman helps run that workshop and brings all his jigs and specialty tools with him. The build at VIB was a lot closer to me and takes 5 days (M-F) usually scheduled in July. The Chappapeela build was 3 days (two really LONG days and one half day) over a Fri-Sun in the spring. We built 23 hammers last year (mine was #14) at our build. Totally worth it! The tooling class is offered every year at VIB (last few years in November) and was an awesome experience. Allan Kress taught the last class.

im going to do the class in virginia "2025" its cool that you can do momnthly payments to pay it off that way and cheaper than paying almost 5k for 1.!! 7-8 hr ride though
