WATCH THIS BEFORE VISITING THE GRAND PALACE IN BANGKOK - TOTALLY UNEXPECTED - ROYAL KHON PERFORMANCE
After visiting the GRAND PALACE in Bangkok Thailand, we learned that included with our Grand Palace ticket was an option to attend the famous Royal Khon performance.
Sometimes you get lucky and find free things that turn out to be amazing, this was one of those times.
We almost threw away our tickets before finding out completely by chance.
The show turned out spectacular, we had such a great time! If you visit the Grand Palace you MUST then attend the show afterwards.
You have 7 days from your palace visit to be able to watch the show for free.

I'm guessing that the garden you visited should be Saranrom Park. If it's next to the Grand Palace. Originally, this garden was part of or to be precisely the garden of the Saranrom Royal Palace. It was used for the royal family as a temporary residence. While that royal family was waiting for their own palace to be built. It was later used as a reception for the country's visitors until it was used for a period as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Later this garden was used as a public park. As for the Khon performance you're going to see, in the past it was a high-level show that was performed only in the palace. Because it is considered that this kind of performance uses all kinds of Thai art in the performance. Traditional singing, Thai pattern art and scene illustration, handicrafts of costumes, traditional Thai music, traditional Thai dancing.

Thanks for the info!
The little bus you guys took actually was a tram used in the former Bangkok tram system almost a century ago. And the park you guys visited was once a palace built in 1866, belonged to a prince of King Rama V. It's one of not many palaces survived the great raze after Thailand's regime change from monarchy to democratic following the Siamese revolution in 1932.

Hola. Gracias por compartir sus visajes: resulta interesante el gran Palacio Nacional y el contraste con la cultura occidental. Lindo el parque y las imágenes que mostraron del espectáculo teatral me gustaron mucho. Gracias por permitirme viajar con ustedes.

If you can touch the real gold at the pagoda, and Buddha statue you will know that real gold does not retain heat in the Grand Palace.
Hi, thanks for sharing! do you know the schedule time for the show? Is it always 1 PM? Or do they have another schedule within 1 day?

This is from their website: """"Located around 20 minutes' walk away, or a five-minute drive, visitors can take the inclusive shuttle bus from the palace's Biman Deves Gate to the theater, which will depart 30 minutes before each performance. There are four performances per day, each lasting 25 minutes, at 10:30am, 1pm, 4pm and 5:30pm."""""
