Thank you for the description. You'd be welcomed again. Please, bring some Finnish metal bands next time (obviously kidding, but that would have been nice). Your tone of voice is uniquely pleasant.

When you go back to Albania, check out Vlorë - it was awesome. Zvernec Monastery (it's on an island in a lagoon) is worth seeing there, and there's a nice walk back down the coast and through pine forests to the city. I'm definitely going to try and visit some of the other towns I've seen on your videos (like Berat) when I go back. Side note about the Burek - Albania's sometimes seems to be a little different to alot of the other Balkan versions (like the triangular spinach ones you often see there). You did a good job of explaining that the "buses" are not what people expect 😅 I've lost count how many times I've seen people on Facebook travel groups stressing about them because they can't plan and buy tickets etc

I've heard mixed reviews about Vlore but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! The monastery looks very cool, I'll have to add it to my Google Maps for my next trip. Berat is definitrly worth visiting, many travelers I met thought it was their favorite but obviously that depends on your overall experience as well. Maya Hostel in Berat is great! 😊 Interesting point about the burek! I don't recall I've tried it in other countries but I'm sure there are some differences. The buses in Albania is an interesting topic but honestly I didn't find them challenging to use haha. I guess you have to have the right mindset when you go to Albania and just be ready for things to work differently. 😆 Thanks for watching and thanks for your thoughtful comment! 😊

Thanks for recommending the bank. How about currency exchange booths on street? When you pay accommodations, do they prefer € or Lek?

  • @MillaExplores

The currency exchange boots typically have bad exchange rates and often also charge other fees on top of that, so that's why I usually prefer just withdrawing money from the ATM. I always paid for my accommodation in Lek but sometimes they did ask if I wanted to pay in euros, I think it depends on the place. :)

What’s the differences between Berat & Gjirokaster? They seem quite similar? Trying to map out an itinerary and there’s too much choice😜 and all so far apart 🥺

Albania has so many beautiful places sp I understand the struggle 😅 Both are beautiful towns and quite similar with a small town feel. Gjirokaster is (in my experience) a bit more crowded and touristy than Berat but if you don't go in high season, it's not super crowded anyway. I couldn't choose one so that's why I visited both but honestly I likes them both just as much. Sorry, this answer was probably not very helpful 😂

Thanks for watching! ☺️ I think visiting in shoulder season is the best, so April/May and September. Summers can be crowded and during off-season (winter months) many places may be closed. For accommodation I like to use Booking.com 😊
