I was on Ozempic and Trulicity for my diabetes. My health insurance no longer will pay for Ozempic and Trulicity is always hard to get due to shortages. My new NP put me on Mounjaro 2 weeks ago. My blood sugars are going down slowly. Ozempic, Trulicity and Mounjaro side affects are about the same - I only got sick on Trulicity. I drink alot of water and I'm starting to walk half mile a day now. I hope I lose weight and look better. I'm so tired of being fat. I wish the best for everyone on it. God bless us all. 😊

After a gastric sleeve, I took ozempic and saxenda to take off some extra weight - they worked ok. Then I took Mounjaro for 12 months - lost the final 30lb and was thrilled. However, my insurance just declined to continue covering it, and I regained 20 lb in 6 weeks. Very discouraging as I was thrilled with the results. Not sure where to go from here, but I'll see what my physician says about other options. @@justjo7282

@@dianelengyel568 I’m on it I’m a week and a half in I’m down 11lbs. My advice is to get 10,000 steps in a day lift weights and try to find an active activity (dancing, disc golf, swimming). Most importantly is diet I’m currently fasting until the afternoon and when I do eat it’s some form of low calorie meat. Really the only carbs I get is a cup of rice or protein bars. The best way to make this diet sustainable after weight loss is to have one day out of the week where you can let loose. SUSTAINABILITY IS KEY!!! The reason I know this works is bc I’ve lost 180lbs total in the past but bc of just life in general I gained some weight back. I have found it really hard to just get it off one last time.

Very informational! I'm curious if anyone else who may use cannabis (disclaimer: medically prescribed for me) along with the Mounjaro experiences any effects. There is an extreme sensitivity to the cannabis when I take the Mounjaro (at the lowest dose). It kicks in about 2 days after injection and lasts for about 7 days. I can't find any forums where anyone else is experiencing this. Surely, I can't be the only one.

I didn’t eat or have coffee this morning, Friday, until around noon because of the nausea. I ate half a protein bar then, later had a teaspoon of peanut butter and tonight I ate maybe 4 bites of a scrambled egg. I am so nauseous and I have to keep a ginger drop in my mouth at all day and tonight. I’m miserable and I don’t use cannabis, smoke or drink anything but water and coffee. When will this go away?🤢

My Dr is so smart she started me on it right away. Ozympic nearly killed me. My blood sugar has never been controlled until now. It took about a month, but in much less than a yr, my A1C went from 10.5 to 6. For me it is a miracle. My Dr was so pleased. In addition, I've lost 70 lb without really realizing. Ppl kept telling me and I did keep going down in clothes sizes. I gained so much weight on insulin, I thought I had lost weight because of that. I'd like to lose another 60, but truthfully I'd look anorexic so maybe 30. Talk to your Dr. Zofran is a game changer. I'm now ON 10.0 going to 12.5 next refill but it is on Back order 3 weeks and my sugar went right back to 450 average. This back order thing is a mess. 10.0, 12.5 and 15 are on backorder all the time recently now that the weightloss mania. I need this.

I eat soy curls (butler foods) to add to a wrap or tacos or wild rice ( i do not eat brown rice or white rice) or I would add it to quinoa. I love lentils ...I also found at walmart by green rollin pea protein crumbles and no crazy additives . (only odd additive is agar agar and that is red algae) I fill up on lower oxalate greens like arugula and other greens. I do not get kidney stones but I like to pick out greens that are med- low oxalate personally. I do not eat sugar at all, low sodium, oil free and absolutely no processed pre cut fruits veggies in plastic, my greens are 100 percent organic , dessert i like to make my own ice cream using a plant based milk ..blending with berries put it in freezer for a bit to get icy slushy like. I make a power oatmeal using hemphearts, quinoa with flax and berries and add a few walnuts. I do have a plant based renal dietician that helps me out. If I might offer some advise? As a MJ consumer for the last 14 months, HAVE a relationship with 2 or 3 different Pharmacies and let your doctor know that this is what you are doing and that you may need her to send your script to the pharmacy that can get your MJ that month. They each use different suppliers and when 1 of them cannot get MJ another may be able to. Last thing we need is stress when we are trying to heal and the stress of not having the meds we need is quite stressful. My recommendation. Walmart seems to have the supplier who can get MJ almost every month. Best wishes on your journey! 😊
