I live in a city so I can't have chickens right now plus I live alone, and I'm disabled, but in the Kingdom of God I will ask the Lord to give me 10,000 of them! God Bless! Excellent video!

WITH ALL THE BREEDS IVE HAD OVER 25 YEARS, i think Welsummers and Ameraucanas have been the most mellow and hen compatible esp. Welsummers. Cackle does have them but the best ive seen are from DEER RUN FARM in New England. they also sell Ameraucanas, Delaweres, Marans and Olive Eggers that are Ameraucana x Welsummers. Im not affiliated or get kick backs. i just like helping people and chickens make a good match. i you want to keep your laying hens but want some new chicks. Welsummers roosters x RIR or Rocks make great layers and will darken your eggs some for more variety . i think you had the best start to end video ive seen!!! I can tell you have been around the block a few times!!

So good! We've got 8 ladies, and we love them to pieces! We don't have the space for a mobile coop, but I wish we did! It's hard to keep up with all the mess, especially when it rains because, yes, the soil around the coop gets really gross! We lay down straw or pine shavings when it gets really bad, but it'd be nice to just move them around! Thanks for providing the world with such a complete video on taking care of chickens! I'm sure that MANY will find it very helpful! God bless! ❤

Right. Rhode Island, red and barred rock. There’s a reason why they are so popular. Chickens are easy to raise and beginners especially don’t need to make it more complicated than it should be.

In my experience Red birds such as RiR, Highlanders n such which all basically are an off breed of 1 red breed are hardy yes but often catch some type of illness & may get over it but not b4 it spreads killing your expensive birds that normally wouldn’t even get sick unless you chose these type of breeds that introduce it into your flock/family. And please don’t take anything. I’m saying the wrong way I’m not bashing this KZreadr or his channel or anything that he is saying I’m just having to lay down some facts. My neighbor is an avian vet and has been for 15 years my aunt has raised chickens roughly for 75 years. I’ve seen thousands and thousands of birds my cousin in Kentucky has 9000 red hens gets eggs and sells eggs to Walmart. Has to pass all kinds of federal inspections weekly. And you can’t even enter the building without a hazmat suit on. & only the few employees Sounds crazy but all true. And if you would like to have someone in your family attacked by a rooster by all means get you some RiRs nine out of 10 will try to eat you. lol not really but ya they are not a nice breed like Orpingtons

@@baddogcustoms7496 I have had Rhode Island reds for 10 years. I’ve never been attacked, but I was attacked repeatedly relentlessly by buff Orpington roosters . Those were the worst roosters I’ve ever had.

@@tannerfarmstead Follow up question…. lol Once you move them out at approximately 3-weeks old, what kind of setup do have? Is it something that can still keep them out of the weather from wind and rain? I have always been told you don’t move chicks out to the weather until they are fully feathered around 6-7 weeks old.
